Ive had ADT for 12 years i recently upgrades last year we armed the window and back door the alarm is very cheap material the alarm fall off specially the door the house is never armed because the alarm falls off all the time. I want to cancel but they want to charge me a cancellation fee. not sure what to do

Alarm system was monitored for 22 months

I purchased a wireless homephone system. I didn't know that ADT was receiving a signal. They were fully aware of a dead signal. When I enquired about purchasing a wireless alarm system they informed me that I was not being monitored by ADT because the phone system was now wireless. I called ADT and they confirmed that I was not being monitored for 22 months. That amounted to over eight hundred dollars. They don't want to give my money back so it's time to take them to court. That's my next step. I plan on asking for a lot more than 800.00 dollars.

Same thing happened to us. We cancelled ADT after 13 years of service. Then they sent me a bill for $195.00 for Early termination fee. When I informed them that I had been with them for 13 years, so "early termination "fee wasn't feasible--they turned my account over to collections.

ADT does the same scam as SafeGuard and all the others. In fact, ADT wont give you a quote over the phone. They insist on sending a sales person who wont give you a quote until the first run a check check! They will also sell you more monitoring devices which means your monitoring price goes up! Why should having more devices cost you more for monitoring!? Its a SCAM! It costs them no more if you have 2 monitoring devices in your home or 20! Your low rate on TV suddenly goes from $40 a month to $80. If anyone on here is praising the alarm companies then they are shills for the companies. And in their ads they say it costs you just over a $1 a day. Well, I guess if it's $1.80 a month they can still legally say just over $1 a day?

ADT is not perfect but if you speak to the right person they will solve your problem rather quickly.
For rebates Deals Specials and or billing and technical problem I use this number normally a supervisor will help you 1888-720-5982 mon thru friday 8am to 11pm saturday 9am to 10am sunday 10am to 6pm @ eastern time hope this helps you all. I use this number for additional credit and tech issues. 8) But all in all ADT need to get there stuff together
