Loan

I refinanced my student loans with another lender. The new lender paid off all the loans (originally form SunTrust) and had an $800+ over-payment. 90 days later no refund to me or the new lender. Good luck calling them -they always say take 30 days. After 30 days they'll say 60 days. After 60 days... you get the picture. My sister was going to refinance her loans but when she found out the servicer was AES she drop doing the refinance. AES IS THE WORST make sure your lender does not use them as their servicer.

Pay Ahead Status Changed w/o Permission

I have been paying down principal on my loans for years by paying extra each month. Several years ago I notices my monthly payment amounts were decreasing and when I checked they said I was in "pay ahead" status. I said I never asked for or gave permission for pay ahead status because I wanted overage payments to be applied to principal each month. After arguing and yelling for a long time they changed it back, so that when I pay extra each month it is applied to principal again. Ever since I have monitored this each month to make sure they would not unilaterally put me back in pay ahead status without my permission. They have done it again. I am about to call again and not anticipating a genial conversation. I think this is an extremely deceitful and purposeful action on the part of AES to prevent people from paying down principal, so they can keep interest payments higher for longer. A-holes.

AES the Worst LOAN SERVICING Program EVER

AES is the worst. When you call, they lie. When you try to pay down your principal, they say they have to apply your funds to the next payment. There's no way to pay down your principal unless you make an additional payment on the day your payment is due--it has to be timed exactly. I've never heard anything like that. The call reps are awful and rude. Total scammy company out to rip you off.

Overpayment Refund Processing

Repayment of my loan was mailed to AES Payment Center in Harrisburgh, PA with full account information. Only after calling in for 3 weeks and being told they didn't have my payment did I finally get someone intelligent enough to tell me that AES will hold paymens in Limbo because they don't know which account to apply it to. That's funny because if that was true why not SEND back and NOT CASH it as they had, although they didn't know which account it belonged. So once they magically determined it was mine although they claimed the accoun info is missing, they actually had already cashed it week ago...seem like DIRTY operations.

Next, I'm told I will have my overpayment Refund 30 days after check was cashed along with my paid in full letter....but did that happen?! 31 days later I called in because I don't truse anything AES tells me, only to find out that now I've got to wait 90 days from the date they applied the money to my account, NOT when AES SSCUMBAGs CASHED the check they didn't know which account to apply.

This is a really rotten company with rotten policies!!

Monthly Payments

My private student loan was bought out by AES so now I have two loans with them, which have been consolidated. I always go by the consolidated amount that is already pre-populated in order to pay the bill weeks in advance. So this time around after I have paid the bill at the beginning of this month, I received a notice a day ago stating that I was delinquent on a payment. I never received any other notification of missing a payment until a day ago. The site was telling me that I owed $27.00.

After speaking with the customer support team, telling them how I make the payments every freaking month, they argued with me that the amount should have been $XXX and I didn't pay that. I was agreeing with them and I wanted to know if they could look in their system to tell me what the original consolidated amount was for May. They told me that I could speak with a supervisor who didn't have that kind of access to the system and they could file a technical complaint, but that wouldn't stop the account from being delinquent.

Paid ahead for YEARS

I have been paying on my loans from them for YEARS while still in school because I knew that I wouldn't have a job when I graduated after student teaching in the middle of the year. I graduated in 12/2012 and now in March 2013 and 41 days past due... HELLO...I paid you people for years to be ahead!!! My other loan companies are not asking for money until 2016! This company is absolutely ridiculous!

Loan

I like so many other people am having a big problem with AES of Pennsylvania. I have never defaulted on my loan but have been sent letters stating I now have a "rehabilitation loan". I have spoken to someone at AES several times on the phone and they keep stating that it has been taken care of. However, when I receive my statement every month, nothing has changed. When I go on line and pull up my payment history, there are a couple of years missing. I did pay by check for awhile and then by my banks bill pay. Now I use their website and print out a copy.
I did write a letter to them in addition to the phone calls and they only sent what I can pull up on line. In short, they didn't even respond to the letter. I am at my witts end!!

Loan

There is 1246.45 dollars that has vanished in cyber space or has been embezzled from a refund transaction from my student loan company (American Education Services). I accidentally made an over payment on my student loan account in February through my TD Bank bill pay service. I made an error by paying my mortgage payment (Arora Loan Services) in the amount of 1434.00 and some change to my student loan (American Education Services) - as you can see they both star with "A" and are right next to each other in the Bill pay service. I discovered the error a week after I had made it and contacted my bank (TD Bank) to see how I could get it fixed. My bank told me that I would have to get a refund issued from American Education Services (AES). So I called AES to request a refund. After getting the ring around and speaking to several reps - they finally told me I would have to request a letter from TD Bank stating an error was made and that a refund needed to be issued. I went back to the Bank and got the letter and faxed it over to AES. AES told me that it would take 5-7 business days to receive the refund. A week went bye and no refund was issued. I then called my bank to track the refund. The bank had no record of such refund. I called AES back and they state that the refund was issued electronically to "Citi Bank Home Access" where the original overpayment came from. AES states that Citi Bank Home Access is TD Banks 3rd party bill pay service. I went into the TD Bank branch to speak to a representative. The rep at TD Bank made several phone calls to try and track this refund in the amount of 1246.45 (which AES states they refunded to me back on 3/8/12). The rep was not getting any answers and was being told by TD Bank corporate office that they have no affiliation with Citi Bank Home Access and that is definately not their 3rd party bill pay company. The rep even got on the phone with the Manager (Keith) at AES and he kept telling my bank Rep that the refund was issued on 3/8/12 to Citi Bank Home Access and that we needed to contact them to find out where the payment is at. The rep from my bank told him several times that there was an error and that the refund was not issued to my account. If it was done electronically it would have hit my account instantly. The AES Manager then claims that it would take 3-7 weeks... WHAT??? The bank rep got very suspicious and started asking for phone numbers and mailing addresses to where the refund was issued and the AES Manager could not give him that info. AES refused to trace the transaction. TD Bank has put in a claim (#93317) to try and investigate it. I have since then filed a claim with the BBB on AES. I have also went online to find that I am not the only one having fraud issues with American Education Services. There are several recent stories online with a similar twist of money missing.. or not being applied to the persons account. There is some type of fraud going on here.. and to date my refund of $1246.45 is no where to be found.
