Only a SCAM

I unfortunately fell for this scam. I was told I had to undergo training to be put forward for roles. Once I said I’ll think about it because I couldn’t afford the cost they were like ok if you want and saying they cannot guarantee a place at the course, you have to be quick etc. Once I decided to go for it, it was a disgrace- there were no hand-outs at the training programmes which cost about £145 each- surely they could've provided resources such as writing paper or notes from the never ending presentation, we were sitting and copying down notes from the presentation which was from 9.30 to about 4.30 in the day. Also, they stated that if we were more than 10 minutes late to the course, they would deny access to the training sessions and there would be no refund.
There website was faultless and their telephone manner when taking the cash was incredibly polite and they would straight away transfer you to the paying department for you to book a date for the course! And then you are transferred back and asked what date you booked for the training- surely they should know, it should be on the system- another indicator I missed of how unprofessional and deceitful they were! When you even ask them about what the training session is, they say two sentences ‘’oh it’s a one day course that includes…’’ as if they are reading it off something.

Once completing the training, they said to put the course on my CV and send it to my consultant again so they could put it forward for organisations- there was no reply when I did! In fact I had to email them to ask where my CV is being sent to, or if it was at all! Once they had the money they didn't care about replying to me at all. I eventually received an email from someone else asking if I am still wanting to work with them because their records say I don’t!!! After numerous emails I got another email from someone who apologized and listed two centres- probably randomly chose them off the internet –and a rather rude response from who was meant to be a 'Manager'. Still no email confirmations after months so I started researching the company again and again, until I found out that it was a scam – my suspicions came out correct and I discovered a Watchdog episode on it!

The certificate they gave after about 2 months of completing the course and asking about it numerously says it's a ‘legal’ document!! I heard they were previously called Age Medical then Age 121, now Connect-London....so BEWARE they may well re-open in another name and start scamming AGAIN! Advice- Stay well away from companies who say you have to pay for a course in order to be put forward for vacancies.

Connect

unfortunately I have been fallen into their trap after I have paid £140 for a course in Birmingham. I thought afterwards I will get a permanent contract. I have been calling them daily to find out what happened about my CV and when I will get an interview .

I can not explain the amount of frustration and stress that the caused.

Connect recruitment

Do not be fooled by them a very polite smarmy woman rang me stating she is calling from Connect recruitment I was hopeful for a telephone interview at least I was asked a few basic questions about why I'm interested in the role and than later stated in order to carry on id have to do a two day course on first aid and get a receptionist certificate i mean what in earth is a receptionist certificate how can you learn everything in two days and yet you haven't got the interview and your not even guaranteed the job! I've heard of training once there given you a job or if you don't meet the criteria your not put down ... The courses sounded dodgy and alarm bells started ringing i was transfered to the 'booking department 'in a instant i was just given some dates by some lady who just sounded bored and uninterested she gave me two dates one for next week and another one two weeks later I was thinking the price will cost around £40/£50 and than I was told they will cost £150 each and £260 was the offer for them both couldn't belove my ears how ridiculous I told the woman I had no money until tomorrow to call back luckily I was able to dismiss them always trust your instinct and never feel pressured to pay on the spot . CONNECT RECRUITMENT ARE SCAMMERS they advertise on CITY CALLING .
AVOID !!!

Connect London

I unfortunately fell for this scam, being jobless since a while I thought this could be useful. They called me telling me that there are some jobs available in the Liverpool street area and that before getting an interview, I needed to do some training.
They basically forced me to pay on the phone for a medical receptionist course and for the first aid at work course, £259.00.
My fault, I should have been more aware of these types of scams but I was desperate (and still I am, thanks to them) for a job that I've accepted.
Don't fall for them, don't give them money!
How is that possible that there's no way to stop these people?

Connect London / Age 121

I nearly fell for this scam - August 2014.
They gave me details of a legal secretary job that sounded perfect for me. But said that, as I have little experience, to stand a chance I would need to go on a one day secretarial training course, that would cost £150. But that I would be pretty much guaranteed a job afterwards.
I smelt a rat once I realised that it would be Connect (previously known as Age 121) themselves, not another company / course provider, delivering the training - which is not recognised by anyone other than Connect and consumer complaints websites, it seems!!
When I said I wanted more time to think, the 'consultant' I had spoken to - who had previously been incredibly polite, charming, and convincing - turned a little unpleasant and became rather pushy, making it seem like I was being ridiculous for hesitating over an 'investment in my future'.
Be careful, and don't fall for it!!

14th July 2014
I received a phone call from a caomapny calling them selfs Connect who specialise in Receptionist jobs within the Legal industry, after a very positive conversation with a less convincing lady on the one the further the conversation went on she droped the inevitable bombshell that before I could go for the onterview she wanted to put me forward for i need to go on a one day course at the cost of £190.00 then ofter speaking to an even less convincing person on the traing team I cut short the call and told them I would n ot be parting with any money untill I lookedmore closely into them , which quickly brought me to this blog/website. PLEASE BE AWEAR THAT THE PEOPLE WHO WERE FORMALY CALLED AGE212 HAVE NOW CHANGED TO CONNECT AND HAVE CHANGED INDUSTRIES TO THE LEGAL PROFESSION.

DIRECTOR Gurpal bhgal and Attone Husband is an absolute ass hole. firstly They is providing training that is accredited by a number people who have no idea who they are. These accreditation companies have been informed of this and are now going to be taking legal action against him.

They does not actually have an office in renting some warehouse in the docklands ..

AGE121/AGE MEDICAL RECRUITMENT/CONNECT LONDON.COM

I was one of the idiots that fell for the con, I really wanted to get into the Medical Receptionist field.
After replying to an add which stated no experience I got a call from AGE MEDICAL NOW AGE 121. They Informed that they run an excellent training programme designed specifically at those wanting to enter the industry and as well as their excellent course they will help in me finding a job in this field. The minute I handed over my money it all went down hill.
At first they didn't even bother to email the details of the course as well as proof of payment, I emailed 3 times asking for this information before I got a response as well as an apology. The Course itself was shocking, I paid £250 to have someone ask me what I think a good receptionist is and then tell me if I am wrong or not, the highlight was when they handed out a pamphlet that you get at a doctors office and read it out, not mention the software used by the medical field which they could not show us at all but only tell us about. It was no surprise when a lady walked out during the course to which the trainer explained that it had happened the previous day too. Although it was shocking already I was willing to see where this would go - nowhere. We were told after our course that someone would be in touch with us, a week and half later I called them as I had not heard anything. I was told that they forgot about me and that they were sorry but they will put me through for some jobs. Two weeks later I called to check the progress only to be told again that they are sorry but the recruitment consultant that was dealing with me has left and they will pass my details on to the lead consultant. A further 3 weeks later I emailed them expressing my disappointment, only to receive an email apologising as well as promising to put my name forward for some jobs and an email by the end of the week. That was two weeks ago and guess what I have heard nothing.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
The qualification is not recognised, the course is juvenile and the consultants are sales people only.
You will learn more grabbing a pamphlet from your local GP and simply reading it
AGE 121 should be ashamed taking peoples hard earned money and offering them the junk they do in return. You should be shut down!!!!
