Can't find out what I'm being billed for

My Reference number is 1140369964426. I am told that I own money to Autopage and get sms reminders to pay. I have asked on numerous occasions for details of this account and have been promised on every occasion that the contract information/bill/usage account would be sent to me (I was an old Nashua Mobile customer and Autopage took over some of the contracts), but to date nothing has been sent to me. How can I pay for something that I don't know anything about? Please email me the details like you keep promising to do.

Hi my name is Cornelia Hickley, i paid my account still for a few months into your account and not MTN, i was at MTN and they send you all the details you need to transfer the money back, can you please transfer the money as soon as possible, because my phone has been suspended, because mtn cannot see that payments.

Fraudulent

FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT
SOMEONE COMMITTED FRAUD USING MY ID DETAILS IN 31 AUGUST 2014 HE TOOK TWO CELLPHONES AT JEFFREYS BAY DURBAN AND NOW ALTECH AUTOPAGE LISTED ME FOR R11889.37 AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN AT JEFFREYS BAY.
AND LADY BY THE NAME OF MAEMO CALLED ME AND SAID THEY WILL SENT ME A FRAUDULENT LETTER TO COMPLETE BUT NEVER DID.

Fictional Value of Debt

In August 2013, I upgraded my contract with Altech Autopage. The contract was for a Cell C R350.00 top up. I then later requested extra services such as insurance and an additional 2gig data each month. I became unemployed in January the following year (5 months into the contract). As unfortunate as it was I had to let the contract be suspended and was willing to make arrangements to settle the remaining balance of the contract with a payment arrangement.


I have given the documents to family for safe keeping but I have a rough idea of what came off my account every month. It was in and around R800.00. Let's do the math quick:

Monthly account fee = R350.00
Data additional service fee = R200 (this might be slightly incorrect)
Insurance additional service fee = R150.00
Total = R800.00 (plus minus)

Total costs for a 24 month period for the contract alone = R8 400.00

Total monies actually paid to Altech for the contract alone before suspension = R1 750.00

Balance due = R6 750.00

Remember these figures are probably slightly off and I haven't accounted for interest.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW THE HELL I OWE ALTECH R19 000.00!!!!!!!!

The data and the insurance are service fees and not part of the contract and can there for NOT be worked into the total value owed to Altech. Like with Mnet or any other month to month service agreement, the service is cut off and cannot be accumulated into Debt.

To make matters even better for me, no one is able to send me a statement of account to validate this.

I refuse to even consider paying the account until such time as I receive a breakdown and have my lawyers validate that the charges are legally eligible for payment.

Another thing. I pulled my ITC and was listed as a defult for the R19 000.00. But when it came to the account detail section it says my total monies owing is a mere R 1 001.00. Please can someone with a higher level of understanding contact me so we can resolve this issue. I have to account for all ITC items with the company I am currently employed at, Altech are the only incompetent ones who I can't give an answer for other then for now I refuse to even consider paying

Sony Z3 compact

I had a Sony Z 3 Compact for just 11 months, I took the contract with Altech in Canal Walk, at first the device had a problem with the been able to listen to music with ear phones but did not want to take device in because I was afraid that I would not get it back or something bad would happen. So I decided to use the phone with out that. A couple months later the phone started getting hot from the back and was concerned but still I left it thinking maybe I was been paranoid. Then the device started freezing but thought maybe it would be o.k? Then on the 31/12/2015 the device just shut off for no reason and I could not get it to turn back on, so i took the device to Altech Auto page in canal walk, I explained to them what had been happening and was told they will send to service repair center head office, I was very reluctant but I really liked this phone and really wanted it repaired so that i could continue enjoying the phone. I was told that i did not need to worry because I had stressed my concern with the phone getting scratched in there care as I had looked after the phone. I was told 4-7 weeks the device would be back. I patiently waited and looked forward to getting my phone back. They told me they would contact me or send me a mail to keep me updated. Not once did i hear from them, the 7th week went by and still no one had let me know what was going on. In the 8th week i decided to go to Altech Auto page at canal walk to find out where my phone was and when I would get it back, they took my job card no and tried to locate my phone but could not, they told me that they would find out and they would give me a call. A couple days later I had not received a call and started to feel uneasy. I then called them and was told that the phone had been placed in to an insurance box as the phone was beyond repair and had been damaged due to rust and water corrosion. My heart dropped and I was shocked. Firstly my phone was not even a year old, but had rust? How? Secondly how can the phone have water damage when I did not even have it near water. Although the phone is apparently water resistant, I would not be an idiot and chance testing it. I called the service repair center my self and again was told the phone is in an insurance box and I could not get it back once it had gone in there. I was told it went in the box for an insurance claim. I tried to sort this out and called head office, I was told by a Jenifer that my phone had insurance and that Altech Auto Page canal walk needed to replace the device. I then called canal walk and I was told they would investigate and would escalate the matter(this was the manager) to be honest, I do not even think he did. At the time I had no idea that the stores were going to close down and gave it time to be escalated. Still no one gave me feed back, and again I had to follow up only to be told that they were still waiting on feed back, I trusted them and allowed them time to escalate the matter properly. 10 weeks after giving them my phone I had still not gotten any closure or answer. And was confused and uneasy. I tried everything to have this sorted out I even called Sony head office. After many calls nothing had been resolved. My last call to canal branch I was told that they were closing down. I then realized that they were buying time and knew that once they were closed there would be nothing I could do.I can not believe how service in this country has become, no one cares anymore. Company lost my phone

Good day

On the 25th November 2015 I handed in my phone for a repair on my cracked screen for which I paid R2500.00. It is now 6 months later and I am still waiting for my phone which is a Sony Xperia Z2. I have contacted the owner Mohammed Ismail on numerous occasions and the store manager Nash. I was informed that my phone has been lost or stolen out the store. They keep on promising to replace my phone. I have been to the store nearly every day and it is always closed. The owner is now ignoring my calls and messages. I got to hear this morning from the shop next door that I am not the only customer. Please help.

PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE

Good day

My Sony Xperia Z3 's battery was low, i placed the phone on charge and it just switched off, I then left it on charge for an hour and it never switched on it just became hot, I then had my Sony Xperia Booked in at Autopage Canal Walk on 30.12.2015, received an sms to say that the phone is booked in for repairs and then a week there after received an sms to say that its ready for collection. When i got there and asked the guy to switch the phone on, as the phone was booked in for repairs due to it not switching on, he then advised that they didn't fix the phone as its beyond repairable due to customer Abuse.

The phone was never exposed to water or dust, does not have a single crack or scratch on it but they claim its CUSTOMER PHYSICAL ABUSE, and then Kyle who assessed the phone in JHB decided to cease my warranty which only expires in February.

I have sent the manager Rozina a mail 3 days ago, i haven't heard anything from anybody.

Its now March, i have been contacting your call centre everyday since 22.02.2016 i logged my complain, requested my phone be replaced by Altech seeing that my phone is damaged due to their negligence but no! i phoned customer service and are being transferred from the one to the other agent, when i spoke to a rude lady in enquiries who wanted to know why i want to speak to a manger when trying to explain my frustration for the 110th time she decides to drop the phone (and i will be laying a complaint).

I need someone to get back to me as this is unacceptable

Barred fone

I am so sick and tired of dealing with this issue. And when I need help your agents either drop my call or transfer my call to nobody. I paid extra on my contract however you decide to bar my phone everytime. I'm considering not paying my account anymore as the level if professionalism is horrible... And I am going to take this further.

Higher Charge than what i signed up for

During the month of November I got a call from a sales consultant named preglan informing me that I was due for an upgrade. so naturally I went into the branch on the 29/11 to sign the upgrade contract and collect my phone. I was asked to choose a phone so since I am not someone to go for expensive deals I asked him which was the lowest contract deal they had and he showed me the Samsung A3 for R199pm , I enquired about any additional charges and he said theres weren't any except for an admin charge of R150 which I paid. I asked him how much was going to be debited out of my account he said, " well you will be happy to know that you will be paying your old amount of R147.50 till the end of march 2016 and only in april will the new charge kick in. so can you imagine my surprise when on the 5/12 I received an statement reflecting an amount of R277. I immediately called the store and preglan tried to explain that all new contracts are charged with a service provider fee and that he can divide it over 24 months and add it to my account, when I wasn't hearing any of it, I asked him to look at my contract and show me where it had stated that , to which he replied it was now the law.
I told him im not willing to pay that much and that he can have his phone back and im cancelling my contract, then he told me he is going to speak to the accounts department and get back to me because he can also see that there isn't anything on the contract. he called me back the very same day told me that he has escalated it and gave me a ref no and assured me that the account would be adjusted on the next bill.
well what do u know , on the 16 /01/16 I was presented with the same problem and a further R277 was debited from my account.
I called the store only to be told preglan no longer works there and was assisted by Tyron, who said the charge was for an early upgrade and that preglan didn't upload my contract to the accounts department, but yet again he assured me that he will do it for me and I should expect a call from the accounts department within the next 2 to 3 working days. so again another week goes by and nothing I tried calling tyron only to be put on hold or to be told that he will call me back, which never happened. after about a week of false promises I decide to relay the whole story to whoever picked up the call. eventually I spoke with a lady named chantell who asked me to forward her the copy of my contract and also told me that it was her last day and that she has forwarded and discussed the problem with the store manager himself Bilal Amod. she also replied to an email I sent saying that he would contact me the next day being 4/02/16. it is now the 12/02 and still no reply , I did call him on the 11/02 and he again put me on hold till eventually I ran out of airtime, he called me back wanting to know the exact date that I sent through the email and what email address I had used, he said he will retrieve the email and call me back. I am still waiting for the call.
it seems as though the staff and management are known for their false promises. it is very disappointing as im a customer for over 10 years . And from all the complaints from altec it seems as though this is the norm of the company.
I also wonder if these complaints are actually looked into or is it just a ploy to pacify the upset and irate customers.

Managers are people that usually sort out problems and issues so as to satisfy the customer, but if the managers behave in the same manner as the staff what good are they any way.

And if someone wants to know who I am please go to the admin email and search for an email sent 03/02/16 .

WRONGLY ACCUSED BY ALTECH AUTOPAGE

I found out that I am registered with the ICT by Altech Autopage which I do not have any cellphone contract with. When I printed my credit record it written I owe Altech Autopage money for the cellphone that does not exist. I was asked to write an affidavit multiple times and this has not helped.

Very poor service

I did an upgrade and change of service provider. After more than a week and many phone calls to altech my celphone is still not working properly. Now i am told there is hold on the line. I have been n client for many years.

No Data Connectivity

I can't receive my emails, bbm or whatsapp message because I do not have data connectivity and every time I phone in (if I am lucky enough not to be cut of) their technical dept will reset or activate my APN. This will last for half an hour where I receive mails, etc. and then it will stop. I am paying for data I can't use and what's more frustrating is trying to get through to the call centre. Please resolve this issue!!

I've logged various service queries via their website, emails, phone calls and no one can assist, they either put you on hold and never help you or close your email and web queries.

bad service upgrade feedback

My name is Petro v Rooyen, my number is 0832334037. I sent an email on the website to enquire when I am due for an upgrade. A lady by the name of Leah Bgobeni contacted me to inform me that I am due now and she informed me that I can get a new phone the next day. I asked her whether she was from the local branch she informed me that she was calling from head office. I informed her that I am going to go to my local branch of Autopage which is in Vaalpark as I live in Sasolburg. She then phoned and sent emails several times from 0120600216/7 to convince me to do the upgrade over the phone. After three days of calling I decided it could not hurt to take the offer. She gave me a choice between 2 phones, a Blackberry Z3 or Samsung A3. As I have a Blackberry Q10 I decided to go with what you know. As organized the phone arrived promptly and I realised that it takes a micro sim. I called her and she informed me that I can do a free sim swap at the local branch in Vaalpark. I did that the next day, you are welcome to check my records on the computer it apparently shows it. I charged the phone and when I tried to see what ringtones I like I heard that there was no sound. I contacted her again to inform her and she said she will organise for the phone to be collected, but the courier can only come on 17 June 2015 due to the long weekend. I asked her if she was going to replace the phone, which she confirmed and promised she will make a note of the date as it was within 3 days of me getting the phone. Since then she does not answer her phone it rings out of order, she does not answer the phone. I started getting sms's to inform me that the phone is being repaired, I saw red!!!!! nooooo you do not repair a new phone!!!! Since 17 June 2015 I have phone 6 times a day to get answers but nooooo, then I saw that my account is more than usual and I quested it and got so angry with the very rude and unhelpfull person that answered the phone that I decided to cancel this contract. Now they tell me I cannot cancel I have been upgraded!!!! I have not!!!! I still do not have a phone I can cancel but only in 2017!!!!!!!!!! I am fed up I have had it, I even went to the Vaalpark branch they were not able to get an answer either, that lady tried several times!!!

Please please just inform me what is going on, I want to cancel but cannot, I want to upgrade but no phone what do I do??????????

high cell bill

Two months ago i took out a contract with autopage head office. The contract is a 3g 2 gig day and 2 gig night data. Last month my bill was r855.00 instead of r411.00. l use wi fi at home and updates only over wi fi. How do they come to over r800 . It look like they can not see that i am on a 2gig data package. My nr is 0826148784. my id nr is 6312135015082. can somebody please help to fix my bil.

Poor Customer Service

I called the Autopage call centre on 18th September to initially log my complaint regarding Data bundles that were loaded to my contract though the packages were not explained nor were they outlined in the Contract. You cannot load two data bundles at once. So if you have a 1GB and load a 500MB data bundle the 1GB is cancelled out.
I was then assisted in loading a 2GB databundle ensuring I have enough data for the month.
Altech Autopage accounts as well as Altech Autopage Pavillion Durban, were then informed to credit for the usage over the 500MB data bundle because it was not explained to me - REF: 459021
I then received a R2000 bill with no credits passed.
On the 21st October I was pushed from accounts to the store back to accounts and so forth as one person says the store will do it ( Thaba Zitwana) and the store (Yahida) says accounts will do it – neither did it.
I then logged my dissatisfaction on Facebook and with ICASA and received a response on 28th October from Autopage (Nelisiwe Mthembu)
“We have confirmed that the matter regarding the substitution of the bundles was communicated, however, this was at a stage when usage had been incurred on the account.
Due to the above, for the October invoice, your account will be credited for billing within the 1GB not received (as only the 500MB was allocated). The Network Provider bills for usage at R0.99 (incl.vat) per MB for data outside the bundle therefore the amount to be credited has been calculated as:
1GB = 1024MB
1024MB x R0.99 = R1013.75 including vat
I have noted that the full debit amount has been sent to your bank, should the debit be successful, the money will be paid back as a refund to your account within the next 7-14 working days.
Should the debit not be successful, the amount will be credited into the Autopage account as partial payment for the invoice. “

The debit order went through and I was promised a refund in 7 – 14 working days.

The 27th November I contacted Altech Autopage informing them I have not received a refund to which the response was:

My apologies, I didn’t realize it was returned unsuccessful.
I will do the request again now, alternatively we can reserve it for payment of the current invoice (R 954.88), refund difference and not debit your account for the month?

I declined this offer as I couldn’t trust them to sort out a simple refund how would the process something so complicated.

I have now not received my refund, they have still gone ahead and cancelled my debit order AND I have been told that I will have my account suspended tomorrow 04/12/2014 if I do not pay them the amount outstanding for the month.

11 weeks for one complaint – I cannot reach them on the phone the line just rings and rings and no answer – and I wont be able to reach them telephonically tomorrow either cause they are cutting my phone!

Pathetic is an understatement!!

SOMEONE COMMITTED FRAUD USING MY ID DETAILS IN 2008 AND I AFTER BEING SENT FROM PILLAR TO POST BY ALTECH HEAD OFFICE IN MIDRAND,A MANAGER BY THE NAME OF PAUL PROMISED TO RESOLVE THE FRAUDULENT CASE IN 2009 -- 2010,THE ACCOUNT NUMBER IN QUESTION IS :1A10954795.NOW MY NAME STILL APPEARS AT EXPERIAN, I TRIED TO CALL AUTOPAGE ON THE 08AUGUST AND 11AUGUST AND 12TH AUGUST WITHOUT ANYONE FROM FRAUDULENT,LEGAL AND CREDIT DEPARTMENTS ANSWERING THEIR CALLS.ITS REALLY A SHAME AND EMBARRASING FOR SUCH A COMPANY LIKE AUTOPAGE.
I GOT HOLD OF A MICHAEL AT UPGRADES AND HE CHECKED AND THE ACCOUNT IS NO MORE ON AUTOPAGE SYSTEM,I WENT TO AUTOPAGE DEALER IN SPRINGSGATE,SPRINGS AND THEY ALSO COULDNT FIND THIS ACCOUNT ON THEIR SYSTEM.BUT EXPERIA CREDIT CHECK SENT ME A LETTER THAT SAYS AUTOPAGE BALANCE IS R17,365 WITH A R00 OPENING BALANCE.
THE LAST TIME HEADOFFICE PROMISED TO FIX THIS MESS WAS WHEN I WENT TO HELLOPETER IN 2010.

Still waiting on REPAIRS to return my cell phone. It is now 8 weeks.

On the 17 March 2014 I went for an upgrade (Ref No: RI 1300197. Dealer Code: D05116). On the 10 April 2014 I returned my phone where I have purchased it (12A Shortmarket Street, St. Georges Mall, Cape Town) and it was send to repairs; my software gave in and my screen went black. On the 19 May 2014 only may cell return from repairs and I was asked to come and collect it the the same day. The sim card slot was missing and it was send back to repairs the same day19 May 2014 to replace the slot. Until today my cell phone is still with the technicians. Tomorrow the 5 June 2014 I will be 8 weeks without my cell phone. And it has become embarrassing. This is unacceptable and very poor service by Altech AutoPage. I am a valuable client for so many years and this is how I get treated. I am 8 weeks tomorrow without my cell phone; this is a brand new phone and only used it for 3 weeks.

I can no longer live with all your excuses and apologies. Why don’t you resolve the issue and attend to my request. Please consider my request as very important; I want a new cell phone.

Incorrect Billing and no service

My phone was stolen and submitted a claim with altech Auopage Greenacres Port Elizabeth and knew there was an excess. i was corresponding with Nadine and was informed that all I had to pay in according to the Insurance company was R5218 which i duly did. two months later you debit my account with R6186,this was an incorrect invoice as i had already paid for the phone and assuming that it included the excess. there was no notification of this invoice or debit. i am not happy as the bank reversed my debit order and have a black mark against my name. then trying to get the people responsible to sort this out they are very sarcastic, no apology and now its my problem. my line has been cut. i have sent your head office to emails and have got confirmation that you have received it but once again no one has contacted me to sort this problem out.to date i have not received invoice 87003042014. everybody i have tried to deal with has been very rude, sarcastic or don't bother to reply. can someone please contact me on 0826524347 or on [email protected].

Debit Order/Overcharged

Signed a contract on 31 August 2012 from the time I have signed this, Altech fails to debit me every single month! My bank confirms funds in my account and no debit order request from Altech. Altech then suspends my account every month because they ''forgot'' to debit me. It gets better my contract states that I will be billed R229 per mnth incl BIS for my blackberry 9380. Do date I am paying R281 pm.Next month- same story. I have paid a reconnection fee every month. I called your customer service on several occassions and even went into altech outlets in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Phoenix do date this situation has not been sorted. I have been promised on all occassions that I would be re-imbursed and that my debit order will be operational in the next month. At your request when signing a contract 3 mnths bank statement is required and a salary statement is required for you to verify bank account details yet you fail to debit me. I intend to go the legal route if this problem is not sorted out and I am not re-imbursed.

Who to pay MacRoberts Inc Trust OR Autopage

I have been recieving several calls from your compqany regarding payments that i should settle. Here is the situation, an arrangement was made by Altech Autopage for payment to be made to MacRobets INC Trust account number 010424288 and my RE NO. is AA19951 and agreement amount is R350.00/month.

What concerns me is that i have been making this payments according to the agreement, but when i get a calls from altech autopage that now should pay them not MacRoberts inc trust, and MacRoberts Inc Trust says i should pay them, what is happening? That is why i have not being paying this account for two months, i.e. septermber 2012 and october 2012.

Hope you resolve this issue as soon as possible and you send me a document that will inform me who to pay.

Unsolicited calls

Telemarketers are calling me with "special offers" at any hours. This is an intrusion into my privacy, especially as they do not even have the courtesy to enquire whether the time is opportune. I did not authorise Altech Autopage to use my cellular number for commercial purposes and have repeatedly asked the telemarketers to refrain from calling me but this has no effect.
Please instruct your marketers to refrain from calling me.
