repair claim denied on ambiguous 'conditions'

I'm pretty smart. My reading comprehension is really good. So when I read the warranty contract before signing it, I understood the 'fine print' and other legalese. Now that I have dealt with the process of a claim correctly submitted by my repair shop and then denied by ASC, I understand that their contract is written in an extremely ambiguous way so that having a repair that meets their conditions of 'covered' is equitable to winning the lottery or crossing the path of a black cat twice on the same day.

Example: I needed a rear plug for the cam shaft. The covered parts/service on the warranty clearly states CAMSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT BEARINGS, but the claim was denied because it was specifically just the plug. ??? Really? While I may not be a mechanic by trade, I see the word CAMSHAFT and I would think that the CAMSHAFT plug would constitute part of the camshaft, thus qualifying as covered. Nope. It's not.

Also, my claim for a rental vehicle was denied. My car was in the shop for two days. I rented a vehicle - with a promo code for reduced rates - since I had appointments that could not be moved. The claim was denied because the one small item the warranty DID cover had estimated labor time of 1.2 hours. The repair shop could not have churned out my vehicle in 1.2 hours anyway with that one specific repair - just because that's what is billable, that isn't what is the amount of time that's realistic to get your car in, diagnosed, parts received, then repaired and out the door.

Additionally - one more complaint - the cylinder head gasket repair was also denied. Look in the coverage levels, and not only is Cylinder Head Gasket listed, the related seals and gaskets are listed as well. Why was it denied? Because the repair was needed due to overheating. Yes, head gaskets can fail for a couple of reasons, but 98% of the time, it's because of overheating. At first glance, the coverage looks to cover these items; I do concede that on the back of the contract in fine print it does mention overheating as a reason for denial of claim. But *not* in association with any particular level or specific system or component. I didn't have a crystal ball when I signed the warranty. My brain can't possibly process all the 'what if' scenarios for each and every component of each system and cross-reference it with how overheating of any of those items could relate to the 'covered' parts.

It's like going to the hospital for a broken arm, and your health insurance denying your claim because you broke your arm falling out of a tree, but they would have covered it if you broke your arm falling off a ladder. They will, however, pay for the two tylonal the hospital gave you for the pain.

Had I known what kind of sketchiness would have ensued with purchasing this warranty, I would have made a completely different decision.
