homepage hijack

AVG inserted their program to my PC without my knowledge or permission. I used my PC program to delete the program,

but their program logo and invitation still fills my PC screen and my desktop does not appear. Nothing I do seems to allow

me to get rid of their screen filler and get my desktop back. HELP. R L Hansen
