Hidden Charges

I was chatting with a CenturyLink employee to see if I could get a faster internet speed than I had. He said I could but I would need a new modem and I would not be able to install it. I would have to have a tech come out and do it. I got billed $59.99 for that visit. I called CenturyLInk and explained I was never told about this charge and they said it was legitimate and I had to pay. As we were talking he kept trying to push DirecTV on me and I kept telling him no. I had Dish for 2-1/2 years and was out of contract although it was pricey and I was getting the least channels I could. He ask what I paid per month in the chat and I told him. He gave me prices on DirecTV and I kept saying thanks but no thanks. He finally gave me a price of $98.95 including all charges for CenturyLink and DirecTV less tax. I even asked about the boxes twice and he said nothing about additional fees. When I received my bill from CenturyLink/DirecTV I was being charged $21.00 for three clients, $15.00 for Advanced receiver and $7.00 for primary TV. Had I known about all these charges I would not have changed my TV services. I called DirecTV and told them I wanted to cancel on 09/16 when I received the bill. They told me it had been longer than 30 days and I would have to pay $440.00 to cancel. I actually got the service on 08/07, but didn't know about the charges until I got my bill on 09/16. I have a copy of the transcript with Century Link but no one cares. They pretty much saying it is what it is :( If I can get any kind of help with this please email me at [email protected].
