Horrible over priced dentures

I an sending this email to request a refund on the improper fitting dentures that Merit Coast made.

As we previously discussed when I first went to the Meritt Island Coast dental I didn't have any knowledge of dentures. I was seen by Doctor Edward who examined me. I heard him tell his assistant that I needed 18 extractions I asked him if they had sedation? Doctor Eduardo said no but I can use something to calm me down. I showed him my percosit and he said no other calming pills (was this doctor asking me to get drugs?)The doctor continued and said that he was going to do temp to perm dentures .His assistant questioned him and he replied yes temp to perm. I was told to go to the waiting room to wait for my estimate.  I left my roommate at the dentist since it was taking long. I went to Walmart ,paid my car insurance and still waited for the so called estimate. When his assistant gave me the so called estimate, I was asked to sign. I asked her what I was signing ? She replied it was a form to let the doctor know she went over the treatment plan with me. At no time did she state it was a contract.  As the time to get my extractions done got closer I started to feel anxiety.  I called the office and asked for a referral to get extractions with sedation. Bang I was told that so called estimate was a contract. I have never been deceived by a doctor. I fought it and involved insurance personel to get me a rreferral.  They finally agreed but now I had to wait 2 more weeks before getting extractions.
 My roommate had set and appointment with Merritt Island Coast but he didn't show up after witnesses the deception and ethics. Michelle from Coast called and asked about Don and his missed appointment,. While I had her on the phone I asked if I went to their office if I can have my mouth done sooner? Michelle responded lets make a deal, if you come to us I will give you 10% of and have the doctor prescript Valium.  I agreed . I went the following day got my extractions and horrible dentures. I came in the following day and they told me to come in Friday.  I came and they tried to adjust the horrible dentures. Dr Eduardo told me to come back in 3 weeks. His assistant said they would do a new impression and get it right . My daughter called since she was paying the bill and everything was so bad. She spoke to Michelle who told her it would be fixed and that I had an appointment on Friday. It had only been a week so I called Michelle to verify that this was the case. Michelle said absolutely and if you have any problems have him call me. That Friday was the most traumatic doctors appointment I ever had. From the time I sat in the chair doctor Eduardo was rude ,unprofessional, rough and unethical. He was yelling so loud you can hear it outside to the waiting room. Overtime I tried to explain what the issues with the dentures was he would respond rudely . My roommate was in the room witnessed his behavior and recorded the whole visit.He complained that I came back too early. . I explained to him his office told ne to come in. He questioned me as if I was lying. I told him Michelle told me to come. Michelle came to the room to back up what I was saying and he yelled at her and said GO AWAY MICHELLE! At one point he said this is what happens when you get temp to perm dentures . I responded with I don't know about dentures you decided that this was  what I needed. That was the only time he looked me in the eyes and smiled while saying" but you signed "
At this point the assistant had noticed a spider had climbed on me and said you have a spider , she repeated you have a spider . I looked down and tried to get the spider off me the doctor moved my head and said I don't care about a spider bite let me do this. He went to the other room with the impression.   He said PUT THEM IN !His assistant tried to put them in and doctor Eduardo yelled to his assistant NOT YOU and pointed to me and YOU PUT THEM IN.  I put them in he told me to keep my mouth close and proceeded to ask me questions . Then he would say don't move.  When this was removed I asked how he was going to fix them ? He replied " I. am doing a reline". I asked if I would still look like I have the marbles in my mouth?( because this is what everyone was saying  the dentures look like.) Doctor Eduardo responded that he was a dentist and didn't know about marbles. Doctor Eduardo told me whatever comes back is what I would be stuck with. I called corporate several tmes and spoke to someone about this horrible experience . I then spoke with Lisa Rodriguez and explained all this. I also explained that I was fearful and needed someone from corporate . Ms Rodriguez didn't want to step on district managers toes so she put out a message to her. I waited a day or two and didn't get a call from the district manager. I called Lisa Rodriguez again and then the district manager called. I explained everything to her. She told me to give her a couple of days to talk to the doctor gave me and her number . This manager never called again or answer my calls . I called the office to see the status and was hung up on twice. I called the corporate office and then the Merit Island office finally responded to my call. I spoke with Pat the office manager why called me and  told me she would be in the room with me. I put my daughter on video call. I went into the room and these dentures were worse than the others. The hygienist assured me the dentures  would be better in 3 weeks. The doctor came in and told me to put the phone away. I explained my daughter was on video chat and he said he didn't care. I gave the phone to Pat who told my daughter it was hippa laws. My daughter is in the medical industry and told Pat that was ridiculous since I the patient had given permission.  If this doctor was ethical he wouldn't fear the phone. I again walk away from Coast in tears. I had larger dentures than before. 

I finally realized Coast couldn't get the job done. I went to another doctor. The doctor told me to bring the original denture so he could save me money by using them and not have to do a.new impression . So I returned the new clunky dentures and got the old ones. Unfortunately the quality was so poor he had to do an impression of his own. Through this traumatic experience with Merit Island Coast I have become educated on dentures. The reason Coast couldn't get it right is because my bite was off and they were too big. Attached please see proper fighting dentures and yours. Based on the above information I am requesting a full refund on the dentures. I will drop off the dentures that do not fit me. I am also contacting Delta insurance and sending them a copy of this letter. I hope we can resolve this matter without having to go to court.

Coast Dental Orthodontic Treatment

I am seeking a refund for unsatisfactory orthodontic care for my son's teeth. He's been with Smilecare for 3 years (started in July 2013) , but has been seen less than 15 times. His brackets were repositioned twice, resulting in lopsided teeth. The last time his brackets were repostioned was in March 2016 by Dr. Shamlian. A week later, his teeth were lopsided and a big gap opened up in the front. This is happening and yet, he is supposed to get his braces off in a few months. I asked the doctor to correct this and she became upset. Dr. Shamlian refused to continue care with my son and directed me to contact Smilecare Corporate Office to seek a full refund. She indicated that she no longer wanted to work with us. Therefore, I sought a refund but now Smilecare is avoiding my calls, my inquiries, and brushing me off. I already sought a second opinion and my son is under the care of another orthodontist now. The new orthodontist feels my son needs 6-8 months of care. This contrasts with Dr. Shamlian's expert opinion that she does not know how much more time my son needs...it could be 1 to 2 years and cannot give me a time. I shared that my son has had the braces for 3 years already and cannot be wearing it for 1-2 more years, especially since the appointments are 2-3 months apart. So if the doctor cannot give me a timeline, and is refusing to continue care then my only option is to seek the care of another orthodontist. Dr. Shamlian has destroyed my trust in her for providing care to my son by refusing to continue care with him. So my only option is to seek a refund so I may apply it towards orthodontic care from another orthodontist. Yet, Smilecare would not give me the necessary paperwork to transfer my son, so I had to start as a new case at Unique Orthodontics for him. I am seeking remediation in the amount it will cost for my son to receive care at the new orthodontic office. I also want a copy of all my son's appointments, information about what was performed, and copies of his medical records. (they are trying to hide his appointment records and refuse to give them to me, but I have been keeping track and he has been seen less than 15 times in 3 years).
