Unacceptable Business Practices

Sells items that are either not as described or damaged. The customer service 866# is a major waste of time as they generally give you an e-mail address to customer service and tell you you need to open a case via e-mail. They make you send the item back - AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE, for their problem, such as damaged goods or an item not exactly as described. They try and shift blame onto the manufacturer. And some of this stuff is very heavy and costly to have to ship back at your own expense.
They take several weeks to respond to just 1 e-mail, and their e-mail responses and chains are generally long (months upon months) and exhausting.
Based on countless online reviews, this company has a long and consistant history of BAD products and customer service to match.

Unacceptable Business Practices

I resently placed an order with Cymax and entered my billing address as well as sent to address and to my amazement, they sent the merchandise to my old address in which they had in their system. After not receiving the product, I then was informed that it was sent to the old address and that I would have to pay an additional fee to tried and retrieve it back. I disagree with their options and requested a refund. As of now I am not happy with this type of business, because it doesn't appear to be any due process here. My option to pay additional fees isn't an option for me.

Manager liar

I purchased a platform bed frame from Cymax and was told by the representative the bed I was ordering was in stock. Only to wait a month later to receive my bed with damaged parts. I spoke to the sales manager Lar, the guy with the accent, and he apologized for me not being notified the bed actually was not in stock when I ordered it. I threatened to send the bed back and he promised me a percentage refund for the bed being late and had new parts sent out. When I receive the new parts, they are damaged again! This time I call Lar and I tell him he better take care of me and that I want even more of a credit now because I hadn't had a bed to sleep on for a month because of *** Cymax. He changed his story when I pushed about the refund into my bank account for the damages and said now he would only give me a ten percent store credit. I laughed at him, said I would return the whole bed without a restocking fee. He made it look as if this would be fine until I cornered him with his ambiguity and he admitted I won't get my full refund for dealing with Cymax's shoddy business ethics. I said that's fine, I'll take it up with Wachovia. I'm still in the process of disputing the bed, I refuse to pay a 100 restocking fee for someone els's numerous mistakes. A representative has been e-mailing me to save face with Wachovia as well. She is saying "send us pics and we'll get you your full refund" and she is blatantly lying so Cymax can go tell Wachovia, "we tried to have her send the bed back and give her a full refund". I know what they are doing. Don't ever buy from this company, they shouldn't exist.

Manager liar

I can concur... I wasnt sure if he was a manager or not, but that guy Lar or Lair is a liar. Maybe his name should be Liar. He basically said the same nonsense, that I would get a 20% discount for the inconvenience of the severely damaged parts, plus the replacement. Well now weeks later no discount and no part replacement. Wrote back demanding a refund. Now I'm told I would be charged a huge restocking fee for a return, plus I had to pay for the shipping return on a 50LB item!!! Wasnt worth tne return or having to pay the shipping cost.

Horrible experience

First let me start off by saying that Cymax sells products that are cheaply made but look great in pictures online. They use words like real marble which apparently means marble colored laminate. After ordering a coffee table the 1st shipment was broken, and then after 3 weeks of repeated calls and emails another shipment was supposedly sent but then 'lost' by the shipping company and now I am looking at 4-6 more weeks if I ever get anything at all. It's no surprise that use an obscure shipping company by the name of DBShenker instead of Fed Ex or UPS or any company you've heard of. The website may say all the right things but I urge anyone to reconsider ordering anything from this Company and you can search the internet for similar complaints, which looking back now, I obviously should have done.

Horrible experience

Yeah I sent in a bunch of pictures too from every way angle. Thay make you do all this stuff just to wast your time. Close to 6 months went by, I finally got a refund and shipping, but you will need to literally spend hours and hours fighting with them and with huge amounts of e-mails. Stay away from this store unless you thrive on aggrevation.

horrible company.
ordered $550 recliner that is falling apart less than a year later.
company says they have a 30-day warranty only and any repairs are 100% my problem.

Damaged Goods

I just received my safe today, I ordered through Cymax Stores, on Oct. 6th, 2010. The safe arrived Oct. 14th, 2010, I signed for it, I placed it where I wanted it very gently and unpackaged it. I read the directions carefully and used the "over-ride" key given to open the safe and press the electronic reset button, AND THE DOOR FELL COMPLETELY OFF! This product is very cheaply made, and I would not recommend it for anyone looking for a quality safe. I researched for 24 hours on what type of safe to get and this safe had Absolutely no REVIEWS! DO NOT BUY!! get a sentry safe or another top quality brand!

Damaged Goods

Orderd from Cymax before. Can say all the neg revierwws online are 100% true. Their stuff is not like you see in the pictures or descriptions. Customer service is a joke and they have the poorest return policy around.
Never again will I spend andother cent on their products because if it comes damaged or not as described, they either charge a huge restocking cfee - for their damaged return, plus make you pay for your own return shipping which is expensive because the furnioture is very heavy. If they promise replacemnt parts - expect 5 - 6 weeks minimum to arrive and they claim its because of the manufacturer, not theirf fault... SO USE ANOTHER MANUFACTURER if all the problems are their fault!!!

Fraud and lies

I ordered a bed from cymax and did not receive all the parts. When I contacted them, they were very unresponsive. After following up a few days later, they told me that the parts were back ordered and another month or two and that if I wanted to return the bed, they would charge me a re-stocking fee. Horrendous service.

Fraud and lies

I ordered a desk and everything came in just fine. I thought a part was missing and when I called the manufacturer, they were very helpful. I just placed an order and I wanted to change the shipping address and I was on hold for over an hour wtih Cymax. I had to call Bush (the manufacturer) to try to get a hold of someone at Cymax. I got the number to the account representative. She emailed 6 people for me at Cymax so that they can contact me and I can change the shipping address. This really shouldn't be this difficult.

Awful company

Worst online buying experience ever. nobody picks up a phone. called and been put on hold for 50+ minutes on 6 different occasions. 3 months and still not received my order! no emails or contact from company. wondering if this company is fake/fraudulent because service is too bad to believe.

Awful company

I agree with dis-satisfactory comments. Although shipping damage is not their fault, the customer service/communication/order processing is V-E-R-Y S-L-O-O-O-W and response has to be drug out of them. Also the on-line coupon was not accepted on-line nor by phone on the item ordered; the item desired was listed 'in-stock' but not shipped until 5 weeks later. 'Estimated delivery' was much later on the damaged item and MUCH, MUCH later on the replacement item. 'Receiving of shipment' rules should be better emphsized by Cymax because they are in consumer's favor if followed. Ordering from this on-line service is not a convenience, until it develops virtues of patience and forgiveness! July 22, 2011 order to November 22, 2011 for good delivery of a small item was too long for the small amount of money saved.

Bad service

I was going to purchase a jewelry box for my daughter, who I know is picky. I made sure I could return the jewelry box if she didn't like it. Cymax had a 30 day return policy. Not exactly. Now i want to return the $46 jewelry box I got that had free outgoing shipping. From the $46 price I paid they deduct $11.50 restocking (even though I didn't even open it -- my daughter rejected it based upon the picture on the box), I have to pay $12.10 outgoing shipping, $12.00 shipping to return it. So effectively I get $10 credited back to my credit card. That is criminal!!

Bad service

I have a story with them as well. Waiting to be resolved because I don't want to be shat on for a nasty review. But basically it is along the same lines. My order which was supposed to consist of 2 boxes only came with one (completely unfunctional without the main piece). Ordered 10/10/11, received 10/28 only 1 box (which by the way was delivered by 3 people you wouldn't want to cross on any street in a budget rent-a-truck). Manufacturer claims to have given both boxes to shipper, so it seems the underlying problem is this shady shipping company 'Home Delivery.' The fact that Cymax has horrible customer service, never gives a clean answer, and takes weeks to respond (I have emails from supervisors where I can show you they just completely ignored me after a couple of back and forths). Definitely not worth the savings vs. going to a local store or reputable online company. The discount is definitely due to the thin and unresponsive staff and horrible choice in shipping company. After this second box is delivered (supposedly next week after cymax finally caved and re-ordered) I am going straight to any 'leadership' I can find in Cymax (internet searches show an Arash Fasihi, but I will also write to the above mentioned Shima). I will post updates here.

Awful company

I have never posted anything like this before but this company has made me so angry I had to do something. I ordered two sets of bedroom furniture. After a week or so I was given a delivery date that was about 3 weeks away. When 3 weeks came I still had no furniture.

To make a long story short they delivered the furniture about 5 weeks later then they promised. Then when it was delivered one of the pieces was damaged. We refused delivery on that piece and it has been two weeks without any information from Cymax about when they will ship the replacement.

I guess I'll just have to wait another two months!!! Please don't deal with this company!!!

Awful company

I ordered a foam topper for my ill uncle due to bed sores at of a Tuesday the following week the order had not been put thru the checking account I canceled the order because I ordered from overstock.com in which he received his foam topper in less than 2 days. When I canceled the took the money from our account and said to bad basically I am stuck soooooo now I am fighting to get my money back and them to take the foam topper back as well dirty business and you cant speak to a liver person do not order from this pour company.
