Favoritism

Manager in the jewelry dep. has favoritism towards the younger associates. If the younger associates make up a complaint of other associates he automatically believes them without having any evidence of the situation and attacks the associate that is being complained about.

Favoritism

The manager in the jewelry area has favoritism towards the younger girls. If they make up a complaint about another person he automatically believes them without any evidence of the situation. Automatically blames innocent people.

Rude Mnager

My family and I went to Dillard’s on 1/1//2019. My daughter grabbed several items throughout the store to try on and she ended up trying on clothes on the BCBG dresser since she found 3 BCBG dresses that she liked. As you can see my daughter grew 2 inches this year so she went up 3 sizes. I made several trips back and forth to bring her the right sizes. She was probably in the dresser for about 30 min when the manager of BCBG I think his name is Juan Garcia came screaming at me that my daughter was holding the dresser and that we had to leave the dressing room. I had about 8 items that I wanted to purchase for myself but left them since he threatened to call security to escort me outside if I were to go inside the dressing room and try on clothes. I told my daughter to grab the items that she wanted and we left. She did purchase 9 article of clothing which include 4 pair of jeans one pair of shorts and several shirts. When I was paying I looked back at the BCBG area and the three workers that were working including the manager were just talking and one girl was on her phone. This people definitely don’t like to work.

Store Manager's (Justin Dubyak) Rude/Unprofessional Attitude

I began working part-time at Dillards on yesterday in the women's shoe department. The pay is commission only. Due to bills (car note and credit cards), I kept my other part-time job at Foot Locker since it is hourly. Once my income from Dillards became steady, I planned to resign from Foot Locker. However, I was called into the store manager's office this morning. Mr. Dubyak asked me when was I going to quit Foot Locker. As I tried to explain, that I would only work at Foot Locker on my off days at Dillards, he rudely cut me off. He would not let me finish trying to explain my situation and that I would need to turn in a 2 week notice to my manager at Foot Locker. He talked over me, VERY UNPROFESSIONALLY, and told me "Don't worry about it! You can go!" He fired me on the spot!

If Dillards only pays off COMMISSION, and I'm just starting, how can they fire someone for having another job? It's not a conflict of interest, because they do not sell the same shoes. Plus, one is commission only and the other is hourly. So if I don't sell shoes (which as a new employer, I don't have any contact with customers yet), I will not get a check?!?!?

Mistreatment of employee

I am horrified at the treatment my daughter is receiving from managers at
Dillards! My daughter works in makeup sales. This quota thing is RIDICULOUS! They have now got everyone in the store ringing up sales under another employees name, just so that person will appear to have outsold my daughter! This IS ILLEGAL!!! Many many more horror stories of their treatment regarding my daughter and other employees! Something needs to be done about the management at this store!

Defected MK Silver Smart watch

My husband purchased ( Greensboro, North Carolina location) a Michael Kor's silver smart watch for me as a gift for Christmas 2017. The watch was over 400.00 including tax. I have a small wrist so I took the watch to Dillard's to have a few links taken out. The salesperson was very helpful and the watched seemed to fit. On January 1, 2018 I worn the watch for the first time, with no problems. The second day on January 2, 2018 I had on the watch and it totally detached from my arm. I was able to push the pin that connects the face of the watch to the links , which seemed to work. The next day while at work I was walking in the hallway only to discover that the watch had falling off again due to the same issue. I work 10 hour days so I was not able to take the watch back to Dillard's until January 7th; I was waited on by the same sales representative that had taken the links out of my watch. The salesperson stated that he could exchange the watch if I had the receipt. Please note that I had the original box and a sticker ( not yellow) that was on the box when purchased , along with the links that the salesperson from Dillard's had removed, in addition to the charging cord. I was informed that could not return the watch unless I had the yellow sticker or the receipt. As it was a gift I had removed the sticker, and did not have the receipt. I feverishly searched the bag and box to see if I could find the yellow sticker, while waiting at the watch counter the salesperson called the store manager. The sales representative stated, " As long as you have the receipt you can either receive a new watch, be placed on a list when an identical smart watch comes in, or receive a store credit as long as you bring in the receipt. My husband on January 8, 2018 took the receipt and the watch to the store and was told that he could not return the watch, or receive a credit because the watch had been altered. I am floored , because the only alterations made were by their watch salesperson, and the previous day I was assured that I would have the option to receive a store credit, new watch, or be placed on an email list when an identical watch was in stock. My husband stated that he was told this by another store manager. I am so upset with the way Dillard's is handling this situation. I am now stuck with a watch that my husband paid over 400.00 for that I can't wear due to a defect out of my control. Beware of what you buy at Dillard's!

Complaint about manager named Jamie

This is regarding a manager named Jamie who works in Dillards in Greensboro NC four seasons mall center. I was shopping and saw him shouting at employee who works there.

I shop often there and this new manager Jamie make is racist towards employees and very disrespectful. I really wanted to stop him and ask him why is he so hateful and rude.

This Dillards store has thousands of issues with race and employees here work under pressure and since there is no HR or higher management to support employees or address their concerns.

Every time I go to this store I see new employees and when I ask somebody about that employee he or she says employee don’t work no more. I am a retail store manager and I can’t even raise my voice with my associates and In this store Managers shout and disrespect employees in front of customers.

I saw same employee in another store in same mall telling me how terrible management they have. I am sure you guys will not do anything since I see hundreds of complaints already about your stores. But let me tell you that Greensboro Dillards needs new management and that manager Jamie absolutely needs to be fired. I am so sorry for all employees who work under such a management who based on race and like take care of employees and if they didn’t have same race or interest then they will be rude and disrespectful to them.

Next time I will in purpose go when that manager is there so I can take his photo or video because I feel so upset still for employees who work here under a such a terrible people. They had a very high management couple of years ago and now customers have to see drama happening every time in store this is such a shameful act for whole Dillards as a company. Because you guys can’t fix small issues like this and can’t change management or send a HR team to talk to these hard working employees to address their concerns. Remember again Jamie is one of their managers who is one reason we as a customer don’t want to shop there anymore.

I Will Never Shop at DILLARD'S AGAIN

I will NEVER Buy from Dillards again! I received my order of 7 polo shirts. I received shirts that were TOO BIG and I used the sizing chart, 4 were faded and looked NOTHING like the pictures. I was told the pictures they put online are from the vendor and the colors on the site are usually off, had I known that I would not have purchased them. I received 7 too big, 4 faded with,1 with a string hanging from the polo sign and was told there is NOTHING that could be done by Jeff at corporate and Araceli manager of Dillards Direct I was then told to send pictures of my items to Araceli sent the pictures and a week later no reply. I called and was told the pictures would be sent to Jeff then I was told to send the items back to the warehouse for inspection and I have to pay shipping! I will NEVER shop at Dillards and will make sure to let EVERYONE know about this experience.

Gina

I am a new customer to ordering at Dilliards online. However, I will NEVER order online with this firm again. I ordered three articles of clothing of which I had to return two due to needing a smaller size. This firm does not have shipping returns labels for you to send back their clothing. Therefore, I had to send back the clothing at cost. And upon receipt of the merchandise I am now being informed that I MUST pay for the exchanged items to be shipped to me. Just to ensure everyone reading this message understands I HAVE PAID 50% IN SHIPPING COST TO THE COST OF THE ITEMS EXCHANGED AND COULD NOT RETURN ON OF THE TWO ITEMS DUE TO NO RETURNS ARE PERMITTED, ONLY A SIZE EXCHANGE IS PERMITTED. When I asked why I could not return one of the two items which clearly I did not like upon receiving it did not look like the picture online the customer service person reported they want to get rid of the inventory in stock. What a fortunate insult for me to have a dress that I do not really want but must keep and now pay to have this dress shipped to me. I HAVE TRANSITIONED TO PURCHASING MERCHANDISE ONLINE FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS AND MANY COMPAINIES HAVE SHIPPING/RETURNS POLICES THAT FAR SURPASS THIS COMPANIES POLICIES AND THEIR NOT A BIG BOX RETAILERS. I WILL NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM YOU. PLEASE NOTE THAT I SPEND AT LEAST $1, 000 A MONTH ON ONLINE ORDERS AND YOUR FIRM WILL NEVER SEE ANY OF THE PROCEEDS FROM MY TRANSACTIONS.

Return

I went to the handbag department store at Dillard's at Tucson Mall to return a Michael Kors handbag I purchased a week prior. I had my receipt but not the tag, I lost the tag. They refused to take back the handbag because I had no stupid tag!! Really??! I had the receipt, the rude guy in the handbag department had the nerve to tell me that due to me not having a tag, I could not return it because he has to "scan" the barcode that's on the receipt. I know that is bullshit because I have returned a handbag before and they did not require it. I will never buy another handbag at Dillard's ever again! Lesson learned.

Mistreatment of employees

DON'T WORK FOR DILLARD'S!!! THEY ARE USER'S! Quota's with Dillard's is Bullshit!!! No, I'm not going to sugar coat anything that is going to be thrown out in this comment. The company has quota's put in place because they feel you will not give 100% to the customers and your job if they didn't have this to fall back on. That's a crock of shit! I'm a prime example of a excellent hardworker, which I was always told this by associates, managers and customers. I was recently fired from Dillard's myself. I worked for the company almost 2 years. I worked my ass off handling 2 area's when they previously let another associate go. I didn't mind the extra work because it kept me busy when the store was slow. I had associates and managers from time to time asking me to help out with projects that wasn't even pertaining to my area, so we could get the job done quickly. I didn't mind it, I love helping others when needed and helping customers. Well each time numbers and selling came my way for review time(owe your numbers are low we need to work on this). I was told you need to get your numbers up and I stated can I please not be asked with the moving process of flipping the store, but no, that was out of the question. So the more I help flip, the opportunities I missed out on sales. Don't even dare to ask for special hours during this process cause you will be told its apart of your job description. Don't believe the Hype that your will make great pay and commission. The only area in the store that makes commission is the shoe department and nothing more, unless you open up alot of credit card's or certain departments have spiff events going on to earn extra cash to be put onto your checks because of vendor specials. Don't even let me get into the fact of employees arguing infront of customers over sales, stealing others sale and the famous quote "this is my customer because they put them into a fitting room or didn't she use my fitting one, so that's my customer", hmmmm, I didn't know the fitting room area's had certain associates names on them. Wow! I know I have said a mouth full but I needed to get my opinion thrown into this as well. If you are thinking about working for Dillard's, Don't Do It! SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME and headache and go with another comapny that Cares for their Employees, Personal Growth, and Passionate about others! You will really thank me in the long run for doing this!!!

At the expensive stores like Dillard's I would expect nicer customer service and warning about their 3 day return policy.

Had the same problem today, they are nasty to their elite customers!!! I had a horrible experience with their customer service upstairs where i was told to make my return. Both ladies lied to me, were manipulative, and informed me it was a thirty day return policy. Although the other dillards told me 90 days to Elite customers using their CC. This store is a disgrace, i will no longer be purchasing anything from there and they can shove their return policies up their asses!

Dilliard's routinely accuses, harasses and arrests people of color for shoplifting

Dilliard's routinely accuses, harasses and arrests people of color for shoplifting. Dilliard's also runs a scam. After they falsely accuse an individual of shoplifting, within a few days of pressing false charges, they deluge the victim with telephone calls and letters offering to "settle" the "matter" for a few thousand dollars. Dilliard's has recently been indicted under RICO, in Miami, Fl. for this scam as they bring in more money through this heinous scam than they do selling their used junk.

Stay out of Dilliard's-where anyone and everyone who steps in there is harassed because they pay employees minimum wage and try to force them to make quotas or else.

At the expensive stores like Dillard's I would expect nicer customer service and warning about their 3 day return policy.

I have bought a bag for my wife at Dillard's. Cashier told me that the item is on sale and put a sale label on the bag. I said that my wife is quite picky and I might bring it back, so she said "All right". Well my wife did not like the bag so I brought it back 2 weeks later. At Dillard's they did not return money to my credit card, but gave me a gift card and reimbursed only $45 (I payed $75). They told me that since I returning the item after 3 days they deduct money. Manager showed me that on receipt was written "3 days return", but the same receipt says "return policy on a back", where they wrote "30 days return"! Eventually after a lot of arguing I have got gift card with $75.

Anyway, at the expensive stores like Dillard's I would expect nicer customer service and warning about their 3 day return policy. What a disappointment!

What kind of "warning" would be appropriate from your point of view?
