returning the gift

Dear Misters , Misses and Madams;

As we all know; Dixons-UK are operating with a local joint venture partner in Turkey as Electroworld. I have writen this issue to Dixons-UK. aswell You will find the details of this occasion at the following.

I went to Gordion Shopping Center/Electroworld Store/Ankara-Turkey on 02 December 2012 (sunday) to buy a camera to my wife as a birthday gift. I looked for a camera between 200 TL. and 300 TL. prices and decided to buy an Olympus on discount which could also take picture under the sea. When I had just walked to the cashier for paying, one of the sale experts of EW store came to me and told me that he was an expert on cameras, printing many pictures of diffirent types of cameras, according to him the best printed ones were from “ Fuji Cameras”, showed me some allegedly Fuji printed pictures as the best ones. He tried to change my mind and succeded. I trusted him as an expert and as the member of EW . I bought a “ Fuji Camera Finepix JV 310” . By the way I asked to him before paying whether it was possible to exchange it for a different new one or not if it wouldn’t be liked by my wife. He answered me that of course it would be possible if I could bring it back in a week (in 7 days).

I bought this pink “ Fuji Camera Finepix JV 310” and went to my home and gave it to my wife as a birthday gift . We opened the pocket and charged it for a couple of minutes to take some pictures at night in home. But the flash of it was not proper for the night picturing.We packed back the camera into its pocket.And decided to exchange for a diffirent one “Canon” (price was approx. = 400 TL -500 TL) on discount. We tried the camera for a couple of pictures, packed back, and put it into its original box, that was all !

It could only be possible for my wife to go to the EW store on friday (the 5th day of purchase). It wouldn’t be possible to exchange for canon with some arguements about the Fuji camera was scratched and opened. I called the man who sold the camera to me . I explained the situation to him. He answered me first that he had told me bring it to him back the day after purchase.I was very angry to him because it was a big lie. He accepted to exchange it for a Canon next day- Saturday-(6th day of purschase).

I went back to EW store by myself on Saturday. I told him that I want to buy Canon instead of Fuji,gaved the camera for the exchanging procedures. After a couple of minutes he came back to me with reopened box and Fuji camera and said to met hat it was not possible to exchange it for a new one because the box was opened and the back screen of the camera was scrathced. I told him that we did not use it for a time to scratch it, you could make it without/ with purpose not to exchange it for a new one.He took me to another person from the EW store .I asked to him why they did not want to change it. He answered me with the same reasons. I asked from him a written and signed paper explaining why they did not get it back but he did not accepted and showed me the receipt which had some details of exchanging items with small letters what was not easy to read without an eyeglass (I could not read it) .I asked him to read them for me. I told to him that it was not explained to me in these detailed way and it was not easy to read without an eyeglasse ,and I told him the promises that the sale expert had said to me. They told met hat I could speak to their sale-coach. I told them please bring him here I am the customer. They tried to get me to him. I did not accepted. I asked fot the store menager they had some excuses for him . He was somewhere in the store ,had to anonce for him etc. Conclusionally I went to sale-coach I tried to explained the issue to him .But the sale expert to me behind me was lost to somewhere I was alone against him. He did not accept either. So I was very angry to them .I returned to home and send an e-mail to EW-Turkey in the same day (saturday).They returned to me on the phone trying to siege on me, insisting on that I had opened it and scratched. It was really a bad purchase story from a global retailer “DİXONS local partner “ in Turkey.

There is a saying in Turkish language “ Paranla rezil olmak” explanation “Tomful with your own Money” It was a shamefull time for me being alone among them walking back and front as the customer trusted to a global firm for a small price of camera. You know the money they have gained from me is nothing when you have compare with the trust to them. I promise myself I would do my best to inform the world about their partners behaviour to me.
