Food poisoning Emirates

We have taken flight EK081 from Dubaï to Lyon on April 16th, and very fast, about 45 minutes after take off, an egg sandwich with cheese(?) was served on board.
I ate most of it.
Second meal I took was the beef and puree.
I also ate a bit of that one, with few forks of the salads, butter, bread and cheese. Only one profiteroles, tea and coke.

Everything was alright until we head back home.
Around 6 PM, I started to have terrible cramps, vomit, and diarrhea at the same time, and this is ongoing since yesterday.
This is an obvious food poisoning in the plane as me and my friend have the same symptoms.
I have to take medicine for potential fatal medical issues, and considering that every single drop of water I drink goes back straight to the toilet, I was refrained to do so for the last 12 hours. I even had to call ER last night.

Do you have any idea at all of the impact of the poisonned food served can have?

This is serious, dangerous, and harmful.
You should take your responsibilities for such behavior. %

Food Posioning

My wife and I travelled from Dubai fight EK412 departing 4th March at 10.15
I have yet to eat anything in Australia so we are confident the cause must have been from the second leg of our journey.
Further my wife was not ill, so I can point specifically at one meal as being the probable cause (because we otherwise had the same) which was the chicken in pesto sauce.
This experience (apart never being this ill in our 27 years of marriage) has safely cast a shadow over what was otherwise a very pleasant experience.
I hope this feedback/complaint is helpful and forgive me if I choose to avoid this meal if offered on our return journey as it has taken this time for me to muster the energy to send this mail.

Food Poisoning inflight meal

We had an early flight yesterday from KL EK345 10:15am - I know it was from this flight as I hadn’t eaten anything till then. Thank god for the spare clothes that were packed as I did not make it to a loo in time when arriving in Dubai. I had suffered all the way home during the next flight from Dubai to London Heathrow and I was unable to eat a single thing. It is now 4pm 2 days later and I am having to call a doctor as I’m am still not well and haven’t stopped visiting the loo.

Judging by the long list of complaints relating to food poisoning ... there is clearly an issue and formal complaint to a governing body seems well overdue.

I have already submitted a formal complaint relating to screens not working etc on my first flight which I paid £40 extra per seat x4 both ways and more importantly the way your staff had treated me and my 9 year old daughter, by being incredibly abrupt etc. You should be ashamed of the poor service provided.

Thank you Emirates and to your non-caring staff! I will be taking this matter further.

Bad food

Vomiting and stomach pain after inflight meal
I was on the last sector of flight EK005 leaving Dubai international airport at1545 and expected to arrive at Heathrow terminal 3 at 2015. The last meal a vegetarian wrap was supplied cold and it was very oily. The next morning (26/10/2017) I had severe stomach pain and started throwing out number of times. Please inquire into the quality of this meal. I couldn’t eat or drink the whole day.

Food poisoning on Emirates Airlines

We traveled economy class from Dubai international to Johannesburg international on the 10th of October 2017. My son and I had terrible tummy cramps after getting of the plane in Johannesburg. We then had 10 ml of Gaviscon each which did help my son but not me, I then threw up 8 times that night with bad runny tummy, I spent 2 days in bed trying to recover. I enjoyed the good service but sorry to say, getting ill was not good for me as I missed school for 2 days. The Dr said it was travelers food poisoning.

Food Poisoning. 2nd August 2017, Flight EK407 Auckland - Melbourne - Dubai. I PAID to upgrade to Business class. Big mistake. i had Salmon Masala and 2 hours later 2 power chunders and bad diarrhea for the rest of the 14 hour flight. I cleaned the toilets myself 3 times i was so ashamed. So much for the joys of Business class. I spend 3 days in bed in Dubai recovering. Note to self. Never have seafood on Emirates. Note to Emirates i want refund or upgrade again. Cheers Simon OConnor

Diarrhea and vomiting

I travelled with my kid on nov 5th from Trivandrum to Orlando via Dubai.. we both have been down with severe vomiting and diarrhea ever since. Surely the food was bad- my 2 year old kid had kids meal and started vomiting as soon as we landed in dbx. Luckily I was well then to take care of him. The next 17 hrs flight from dbx- Orlando my kid could hardly eat anything. I did have regular meals reluctantly as I did not have any other options and it's not been a pleasant experience ever since.

diarrhea and abdominal pain/discomfort

On our flight from Dubai to San Francisco on October 31, 2016, we travelled with a group of around 40 people. After arrival to San Francisco, most of our group members started experiencing symptoms of diarrhea and abdominal pain/discomfort. One of our group member was even hospitalized for fluid replacement due to dehydration. We know for a fact that these symptoms derived from the in-flight food. It has been an unpleasant experience since our return after this flight.

Food Poisoning on EK0345

We board EK0345 from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai on 29 December 2014. We board the plane at 11am (KL local time). We reached Dubai at 2.30pm (Dubai Local Time). We only consume food on the plane and did not consume any food after the flight until the time we checked in at our hotel at Abu Dhabi at about 5.30pm (Dubai Local time, which is about 9.30pm KL Local time). My husband, my 6 yr old son and myself are down with severe diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and shivering. We do not even have a chance to have our dinner. It makes sense that our 2 yr old does not show any symptom until Day 2 as he eat the least in the plane with only few bites. As I was breastfeeding him, usually it will eventually take effect on him. On Day 2 he is also down with severe diarrhea. We were admitted to the Emergency Ward at the local hospital twice on Day 2. My husband and my 6 year old have to be infused as they are severely dehydrated. It was a nightmare to us as this is the first time we had food poisoning from consuming food on the plane and the holiday was ruined. We emailed Emirates customer service and they email back saying they will take 30 days to check with their audit team to investigate. We are so disappointed with the service as this is a serious matter and they just reply us by email and not even a courtesy call. When we emailed them back on our disappointment, we got an auto reply saying they are on New Year Holiday and will only revert after 4th January 2015. We have our return flight on 3rd January to Kuala Lumpur on Emirates and we dare not consume much food on board. When we are back in Kuala Lumpur, we receive response from them saying it is not their fault and this can be cause by the food that we take in between 3 days to 2 weeks before we board our flight. This is so outrageous of Emirates in denying our claims. When we reply their email again stating our disappointment, they choose to ignore our email and remain silent. Not going to fly with Emirates again. as we do not want to risk our kids with an irresponsible airline.

Food poisoning

I got back from UK on EK434 early on 10 June 2014 with severe abdominal pain. Had to go straight to hospital and have spent last 36 hours vomiting. While the cramping has now stopped I still can't keep food down. Worst experience of food poisoning /gastro ever. Did not eat anything except Emirates food on plane and in business class lounge in Dubai.
Looking at the posts above this seems to be a trend. Please clean up your act. I will never fly Emirates again nor will I be able to recommend.

lack of security

Dear Sir / Madam.

I am very unhappy at the recent assault on my wife by one of your passengers on flight EK383 outbound from Hong Kong at 18-25 hours on the 18th May 2014.

I would of expected by now to have heard from your self's about this incident ,

with not only an apology.

As you clearly failed to protect my wife, but also an explanation as to who this person was and why he assaulted my wife, by punching her in the head, she was left in fear clearly shaken and has a severe bruise from hitting the armrest while trying to escape his punches to her head.

I would expect you are fully aware of the incident, Since a flight attendant was present at the time of the assault,
but I will refresh you on this.

My Wife Yu Yun Wang was seated on the aisle seat when she noticed the man on the same row as her get this small grey item , and was concealing it with his bag while clicking it, when she asked him what it was he said it is nothing just for cutting nails, then she persisted and asked again,he then said it was a phone, she said it is not a phone.

at this time he got up and put the device into his bag and put the bag in the overhead luggage locker, he then moved seats,

my wife then went to tell the flight attendants what she had seen,

A flight attendant came and looked at the man, but did not say or do any thing further at this time.

My wife then talked with an other middle aged passenger, and explained to him what she saw, he then went to report the man again.

This time the flight attendant came and asked my wife exactly what she saw, as she was telling the flight attendant, this man jumped up and punched my wife in the head, in front of the attendant,

A passenger then got up and restrained the man, then other passengers and other flight attendants appeared , and help take the man some where else.

my primary thoughts were as to what this device was, but now I feel that airport security must be very poor if he was even allowed to get on the aircraft with any device that he felt the need to conceal,

My questions are who was this man,?

what was the device,?

why did he punch my wife,?

why has she not since been given at least an apology and explanation as to why she was not protected from assalt on this flight, ?

how did this man even mange to get on this flight with this device ?,

As a fairly regular flyer with emirates, I find this very disturbing,

I would appreciate an explanation very soon,

yours sincerely

B Evans, ( yu yun wang's husband )

Food poisining

your original comment:
I got food poisining in Emirates airlines flight EK91, from Dubai to Milan, on 25 May 2014. I'm not sure if the food was from Buissness lounge or the airlines. I would appreciate if other people had the same experience on the light or on that day. I had a very bad experience. I spent 2 day in accident and emergency. I had a medial report about it. When I complained about it to emirates airlines, they defended their position and blamed food I had before or after my flight, which I thought was ludicrous. They also lied about the incubation period of food poisining saying that it occur after 48 hours, which is not true. Clearly they are defending their position. I did not expect this unprofessional reply from what they call them self as world class airlines

Connect Service - non existent

Once again I was told that The Dubai Connect service was not available. Phoned Emirates Cape Town - Rosalie and Sibu. after lengthy conversation - they were not interested. The first thing Sibu said that it was not available! It seems to be the standard answer, as I received the same answer on my inward flight -my flight coming to Cape Town. I had a 22 HOURS lay-over in Dubai with my inward flight with a similar problem. I was like a zombie after dawdling in Dubai for 22 hrs but Staff was not interested! My ticket states that I qualified for the Connect service of a room and a meal but because Emirates gave me the wrong information I missed out.

When I booked 2 days for the inward flight I was told I was too early and when I booked for my outward flight 2 hours outside the 24 hours cut-off time (according to Rosalie after they had already said it was not available! and before checking if I was within the 24 hours) I was too late! I smell a rat - a service that is non-existent.

My question : IS the Connect service a SCAM as it is never available. Is it worth traveling Emirates in future.

Food Poisoning on Emirates flight

On flight EK 037 to BHX, on 24/11/12, I was served a chicken curry for lunch. There was a very large piece of chicken in the curry which I examined closely to ensure it was cooked, it was very slightly pink in the middle but as the meal was hot I rather foolishly ate it anyway.
I now have mild but very painful food poisoning. No one else on the flight is likely to have suffered as they did not eat the same piece of undercooked chicken. The other pieces of chicken in the curry were small and therefore well cooked.
My companion ate and drank all the same things as myself on that day, with the exception of that large lump of chicken.

It seems that if I complain to Emirates they will call me a liar because an epidemic of food poisoning did not break out on that flight.
I will take sandwiches in future.
