Etihad Airlines - No refund or no answer

I tried to book a ticket on-line to fly from Chennai to London March this year. When I made a payment via SBI net banking, the ticket money was transferred from my account to Etihad and I was able to confirm that as well but Etihad said they did not receive the money hence no ticket was issued. I contacted their India customer services and sent number of emails with proof of payment and bank statement showing that the money is successfully transferred but they said they did not receive my emails, not one email I sent but many times. I also sent email to Eithad airlines directly with all the details but no response yet for last 6 months. This is really a bad customer service. Etihad airlines may be good but the customer service staff are not, I think they are trained to fool the passengers. Could you please advise me if I can seek legal advise or something to get my money back. We can't leave like this as many passengers are loosing not only money and also loosing trust. It looks like its an on-line fraud.

No refund and no answer

Refund on Cancellation not received

I booked ticket online on Etihad website. Cancelled it more than a month back by calling customer care. Since this is international travel, I couldn't do it myself using this option on their website.

Refund is still not received after 1.5 months. I have made several calls, sent emails, was of no use. Every time I called, I was told that it should be refunded in a week, later I was told it's holiday season, after 1.5 months my money is not refunded. I recorded some of the conversations with their customer care.

Will I ever receive my refund??!! When it took minutes to take money from my account, why is it taking months to refund?!

Etihad Refund Hassles and Delays, what can i do?

I need urgent support on my refund. I made a booking with reservation number YXZEEW, ticket numbers 6072124806498, 6072124806499 and 6072124806500.
The ticket was cancelled few minutes after the booking due to some mistakes. Another ticket has been bought but i have not been refunded for the other cancelled ticket.
I have made several calls to Etihad Nigeria and Abu Dhabi with promises that it will be refunded 21 days after cancellation.
From 3rd of February till 12th of March is already 28 working days and my money has not been refunded.
The feedback i got most time when I called was that the refund process was completed long time and now with finance to make payment. Please, someone to help me out here as I am really getting worried on this delay of refund. Thanks in anticipation for your support.

Refund of money not done as promised by Etihad

This is Ms. Ranjini Madhavan, a USA citizen. I live in USA and booked etihad airways for travel to India with my children.


I have made a booking on Etihad airways for myself and with my 2 children (reference code SSABTK) from washington DC to Mumbai, India leaving june 29th, 2014. This booking is already paid and there is no issue with this onward reservation.

Issue with processing of refund of reservation GFAUDG:

I was supposed to be returning to USA on July 22nd, 2014 from Chennai, india to Washington DC. This reservation was only for myself . So I made a booking with reference code GFAUDG for july 22 departure from india. The total fare of the ticket was paid with my Visa card (charged $726.77). Shortly, I had to make a change in date and called the airlines immediately.It was within the 24 hours timeframe of original booking and spoke with Mr. Magi, customer representative with Etihad.I asked him the options for changing the date- he clearly stated that I could change to a later date but the fare had changed to higher or I could cancel the ticket with no fee or penalty.I asked him the same question more than 3 times and he very clearly said he will cancel my ticket and issue a full refund of the amount to my credit card which was bank of America travel rewards Visa. I also received the transaction receipt from Etihad that shows TICKET REFUNDED in status.

I checked my bank statement on april 20th and find that I have been charged $ 726.77 to the credit card and only a refund of $94.28 has been refunded back showing as credit on 4/17.I immediately called Etihad airways on April 20, 2014 and spoke with Mr. Kamran who said he cannot understand why it happened since I cancelled within the 24 hrs time frame and could not explain the small credit instead of full refund . He said he will send an email but could not help further. Further calls to Etihad did not help since my calls were being disconnected or transferred to other representatives.


I still am a loyal customer to Etihad . I will still be flying on june 29th with the 2 children on etihad. I hope you will resolve the matter with the refund of my july 22nd reservation fully soon.
