crtical information going overseas

Im getting a background check for a new job.. I am getting emails back at 10PM to 12AM every night asking for more information. They request my SS, birth date, address, screen shots from my bank accounts, all my critical data that can be used to steal an identity.. This data should not be leaving the USA to people who are not bound by US laws. Funny how the background checks can work, sometimes you have to realize that the employer is not credible one when they do things like this and dont care.

Scam.

My friend was scammed out of 2000 dollars by HireRight. She received a "secret shopper assignment" that contained a cashier's check, which she deposited and withdrew funds with. The bank rejected the check a few days later because it was a fake. NO NOT FALL FOR THIS.

Hire Right

I may have lost my job because of Hire Right. I am still waiting to find out. I was the first person that my employer decided to use Hire Right on, despite the fact that I was hired there previously (moved away and came back). I had an unpaid internship with Hire Right demanded tax forms for (UNPAID i.e. NOT MONEY = NO TAXES). They also demanded verifications of employment at a university. I never said I worked at this university, I said I was attending the university and would graduate in May. Why they thought I worked here, I have no idea. They also could not verify that I worked at a previous employer and said no one could verbally confirm that I worked there, despite the fact my friend who still works there said he spoke to someone about me from Hire Right and said I work there. I should also add that they never told me they needed further verification about this employer, they simply told my prospective employer that I didn't ever work there (which is a lie). Completely awful service.

HireRight

HireRight has a discrepancy on my job because of salary even though I have sent a copy of my pay stub and my background check has already taken two weeks. This is ridiculous. I'm glad I didn't put my two weeks in. I'm not going to stop applying for other jobs since my new job won't give me a start date until this passes. I'm not international either. I won't apply for any jobs that use HireRight ever again.

HireRite - Should be HireWrong

I was offered a position with a major mortgage lender in Phoenix subject to a background check. One of my past employers, from 2003-2008 has gone out of business and there is no-one that can be contacted to verify employment, so I had to find copies of a license that I held while working there (keep in mind that the license was secondary to my position and not required, so I did not renew it - it was valid from 2004-2006) and continued to work there for an additional 2 years. HireRite requested copies of my W2's or tax returns to verify my employment. This is from 8-10 years ago. I do not have copies and neither does the IRS (They only go back 7 years) So there is a discrepancy on my work history since they can't verify employment from here.
I have been self employed for the past 2 1/2 years but made very little money (I tried to start a consulting business) but made very little money and was not required to file a return under the income guidelines - Thus the very reason and need to go back to work and earn a paycheck) Since I don't have a 1099, HireRite has also placed a discrepancy on my work history. Even if I had tax returns, I would NOT provide them to a company that outsources everything to a foreign company.
I graduated from High School over 30 years ago and HireRite is asking for a copy of my high school diploma - I haven't seen it in years, and YES, I did graduate. I requested a copy from the district office which will take 4-6 weeks and of course, the offer has been rescinded due to the time frame.
I have been background checked multiple times in the past for companies that I have worked for and NEVER have I been asked to provide copies of a W2, 1099 or tax returns, little lone a copy of my high school diploma.
BE VERY CAUTIOUS of this company - they will destroy your chances of a position at a company.

Hire Right erroneous verification - twice!

Had my job offer at Amex revoked in light of Hire Right contacting the wrong company on both occasions. This (unsurprisingly) resulted in "negative" response. This company is exploiting both employers & employees...genuine people labelled as ungenuine.

hire right

I have been driving for over 5 years had 2 tickets and 1 accident side swiped by a 4 wheeler (not ticketed) and not my fault. I have since choose to get out of Flatbed and into Dry van or Reefer. I have been applying at for jobs for 6 weeks to no avail. I was informed that my previous employer (COTC) put on my record that I had a preventable accident? when I asked safety dept. at Central Oregon Trucking Company what the preventable accident was They informed me that I had a set of tarps stolen at a receiver down in Phoenix AZ ? I asked how that could be considered a preventable accident? there reply it part of are equipment. I ask you does this seem fair???

Hire Right Verification

My background check with Hireright started on 09/01/2015 and it is 09/16/2015. Till now it is not completed. I was asked by my recruiter to start the Job on 09/16/2015 subjected to completion of background verification by Hireright, I am glad I didn't give notice to my current employer, other wise I would be sitting at home waiting for Hireright to complete verification.

This company asks you for starting and ending Pay stubs for previous employments, I did not have them for all, I submitted my W-2's, most of the times they do not have any body to take your call at their customer service center. They will ask you the same questions even after you provide clarification, this is very annoying company.I don't recommend this company to any employer for background verification. If any of the Job seekers have to go through Hireright verification I recommend you don't give notice until you're verification is cleared, they will take a lot of time to complete the process. If you have studied overseas your degree verification will take longer.

incorrect information

I was denied employment because Hireright reported incorrect information to the company that I applied to. I got my record expunged and they continued to report to the company that I had a record. I even went as far as to purchase a copy of my background report from the local police station and sent the copy to them as well as a copy of the expungement from the court and they still didn't update it. Instead, they continued to report to the company that i had a record. Because of this I lost out on a great job with a great company. I am in the process of speaking to an attorney due to this. I hope the FTC shut this company down so that thus doesn't happen to anyone else

Ridiculous company and would cost u a job

I have several jobs at big company before and the HR never had any trouble verifying my background. But Hireright, this global organization can't act. The customer representative can't do anything except telling me that they can't get hold of the HR. I requested to talk to the supervisor then I found out that they did not use the hr phone number I provided them and used the wrong phone number. With the wrong phone number, of course they can't get a hold of the HR. This is ridiculous. They kept calling the wrong phone number to verify my work history and have it pending for more than 10 days!! I gave two week notice to my current job and because of Hireright, I can't start my new job. They have people in india to verify the work history and they dont' understand the process here and they don't care if they cost you a job. I can't believe Fortune 500 company using them to do background check. I will not take any offer in the future from a company using Hireright to do background check. They refused to do anything right.

destroying people's lives

I have an impecable driving record, reputable person with no criminal backround. Graduate of driving school and have 1 year driving experience. Applied for 12 jobs that go through hireright and have NOT gotten one offer of employment due to what hireright is doing. They should be sued for millions and put in jail for destroying people's lives. It should be ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO HOLD ANY OF OUR INFORMATION IF WE TELL THEM NO. If they violate it, they get bankrupt and go too prison. Then watch how careful they will be. CALL YOUR CONGRESSPERSON AND LAWYER. hIRERIGHT WON'T GET THE MESSAGE ANY OTHER WAY.

cost me a job

my dak shows 3 preventable accidents.
the first accident states being a preventable accident. i was advised when loaded to leave doors open and get on scale. as i did i noticed i was close to a post.i backed up and re entered to not hit the post. a open trailer door got caught on something and a trailer door came off.no damage to customers property.i have been told this happens on a regular basis in trucking.
the second was when i was loaded i was told to exit property and return into property and be weighed on scale.at this time it is dark out. property has no outdoor lighting.the access in to property is narrow.ended up clipping part of a fence,a small piece of fence.was unpreventable due to these circumstances.
third accident never even took place.i was instructed on a saturday afternoon to drop a trailer at the drop yard in east st.louis,illinois. on monday i was called by safety and stated someone else showed to pick up trailer and said it is damaged. there was no damage to trailer when i dropped it off. dac states i hit a object, nothing was hit at all.

Hireright lies

Hireright cost me a job by reporting I had a felony, when I certainly did not. I appealed it, and they admitted the mistake but are doing nothing to fix it. I'm afraid to even apply for another job .

Company lies

What you all need to do is file a complaint with the FTC at this address https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?lang=en. When they get enough complaints, they investigate the company and its practices. You also need to send a written letter to HireRight disputing their background check and demanding that every time they release information on you that they release your dispute as well. By Federal law, they must do it.
