Scammed

I was verbally informed and also notified in writing via email by IYOGI that I was getting 'Mac TuneUp'.

Following is a quote from the IYOGI email:

Product Subscribed to

Product Name : Mac Tuneup 3 Years

Activation Date : 14 Jan 2015

Expiry Date : 13 Jan 2018

Payment Details

Amount Authorized : $93.99

On the payment receipt from IYOGI the following is written, which is the same that is written in myAccount on the Avangate website: (Avangate being the payment processors from what I can work out)

Product ID: 4579222

Product name: McAfee SaaS 3 Year for Existing Customers - $79.99 Quantity: 1

Price/unit: 93.99 AUD

Taxes (VAT): 0.00 AUD

Total: 93.99 AUD

The two descriptions do not match.

In addition, what I received was not as identified on the order details in myAccount on the Avangate website -

McAfee SaaS 3 Year for Existing Customers - $79.99 Quantity: 1

What I did receive was software called 'Mac Tuneup', which is FREEWARE that is freely available for down load and unrestricted use on the internet.

This is clearly a scam on IYOGI behalf and I requested a FULL and immediate refund from Avangate based on this and the above information.

I am still waiting for a reply but I will also continue to follow this up with 'all' available Australian and International avenues until I receive a FULL refund.

Additionally -

I was verbally informed and also notified via email by IYOGI that I was getting the following which is a quote from the IYOGI email:

24 x 7 unlimited support for up to 3 computers (PC or MacĀ®) and 2 mobile devices1 for a full year.

TechGenie Optimizer for Windows, which assists with the regular maintenance of your PC, for a one time charge of $30.00, and is valid for 5 years.

Support Dock, a comprehensive Computer maintenance suite which also gives you instant access to certified Tech Experts.

In addition the email from IYOGI states:

Payment Details

1 Year FDS Subscription : $138.99

5 Years TechGenie License : $ 34.99

Grand Total : $173.48

On the payment receipt from IYOGI the following is written, which is the same that is written in myAccount on the Avangate website:

Product ID: 4632909

Product name: iYogi Technical Support Plan Quantity: 1

Price/unit: 174.48 AUD

Taxes (VAT): 0.00 AUD

Total: 174.48 AUD

The two descriptions do not match.

In addition what I received was 'not' as identified on the order details in myAccount on the Avangate website or as identified in the email from IYOGI.

What I did receive was 'No' software at all. 'Nothing' called TechGenie - 'nothing' for Windows at all. Besides which, TechGenie is FREEWARE that is freely available via the internet for download and unrestricted use.

The so called 'Technical Support Plan' from IYOGI is nothing but an obvious scam; they did 'not' provide the services or support that they originally agreed to provide, did 'not' provide an outcome that achieved any of the results as they had originally identified they would and failed to do anything other than waste my time and take money by fraud and deception.

The following is what IYOGI wrote in regard to services, support and outcomes they originally agreed to provide:

optimise the computer: They were unable to achieve this because the HDD is failing, which we identified at the beginning of our call to them

optimise the safari They were unable to achieve this because the HDD is failing, which we identified at the beginning of our call to them

delete the junk contents and temp folders In a phone call to Apple, Apple have identified that this is totally unnecessary with a Mac Computer

delete the unwanted software No unwanted software was deleted because we had no unwanted software

repair the hard drive(most imp) After many hours of stringing us along on how they could repair the HDD, they finally said they could do nothing as the HDD was failing, which is what we told them when we initiated our phone call to IYOGI, but they convinced us they could repair the problem with the HDD

set up the time capsule Unsuccessful and was not completed

taking the backup of data.. While an attempt was made on their behalf to back up data to an external HD we had, it failed and almost all our data was lost and is now unretrievable

1 computer,1 ipad, iphones,Time capsule, printer, router We have no Iphones and had informed them of such

unlimited technical support This is a scam
24/7
one stop shop This is a scam

This is clearly a scam on IYOGI behalf and I requested a FULL refund based on this and the above information from Avangate.
