Hi,
I went to a JC Penney store in Albany,NY (Crossgates Mall) on 25th November,2017 in the morning for shopping. While doing that,I went to the shoe section and wanted to check out.There was a cashier called Khalid at the register and there were few people before me,with whom he was doing business.They were talking to me in Hindi ( a language) and as I know Hindi,I replied back in Hindi. After that,I gave my things to the person at register and told him I want to check out,he blatantly told me he is not feeling comfortable doing any business with me! I was dumbfounded and asked him, why? He said he assumes I am a "Racist" and he can call any other associate to check my things out but not him,as he is not comfortable with me! I was more shocked and I asked him why does he think so,and yes I was very much agitated at that point of time and automatically my voice was raised than what it was,he rudely told me then,"No need to yell,I just feel that way,that you are Racist"! I was so insulted,I ran from there and asked another associate I found to call the store manager,she called someone named Nathan,I told him everything,he assured me he would take Khalid off the floor and will question him in person about this and all of this will go into his profile,but after half an hour I could still see Khalid at the register and not off the floor,then I found Nathan and I asked him why is he still working? He told me,he was looking for someone else to be in the room when he questions him,so he is taking time,but even after that ,almost an hour after I still found Khalid at the register,just as normal,and I talked to the store manager,she told me that they won't take him off the floor now,as it's their internal matter and they will resolve it internally and I will not be notified of anything but they apologize for the whole incident,as if that was enough,for the whole thing I went through! What about my mental trauma? Still after the incident,the whole next day I was in shock and was very humiliated. I need justice for this incident! I will be looking for reply to this complaint.
