Shani Burton

Today 3/4/2015 10:12A Central time. I took the liberty searching for the President of non obstante veredicto.org in the New York State Unified Court System on the newyorkcourt.org address and no lawyer by the name of Shani Burton in which is suppose to be the president of non obstante veredicto is not listed as an attorney no where. I'm very very concerned for my son he has become very depressed in thinking that we would get help for him.

SCAMS AND BS

THIS SO CALLED COMPANY IS WACK. THEY PLAY ON THE INTELLIGENCE AND VULNERABILITY OF FAMILIES AND THE INMATES. I LEAVE MESSAGES AND SEND EMAILS TO SHANI BURTON AND RECEIVE NO RESPONSE. ALSO NOW BOTH NUMBERS THAT I HAVE FOR THEM ONLY LETS YOU LEAVE A MESSAGE. YOU CAN NEVER GET SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE EVER. THEN WHAT KIND OF COMPANY HAS A WEBSITE TELLING YOU A LITTLE BIT OF NOTHING AND ISN'T WILLING TO SHOW ANY PICS AND TALK ABOUT THE ATTORNEYS THAT ARE SUPPOSEDLY WORKING ON CASES FOR THE INMATES AND FAMILIES? WE WANT TO SEE WHAT THE INDIVIDUALS LOOK LIKE THAT WILL BE DEALING WITH OUR LOVED ONES. THEN THOSE 2 STORIES CLAIMING THAT YOU HELPED THE LOVED ONE IS FAKE. SEND PEOPLE THEIR MONIES BACK NOW. NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED? HMPH, THIS IS NOT A GOOD DEED THAT YOU'LL HAVE DONE. YOU'LL HAVE DECEIVED MANY INMATES AND THEIR FAMILIES AND SHOULD BE PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST.

SCAM/MOST LIKELY

My son received the same letter from Manifest Non Obstante Veredicto Network, Inc. ("MNN") and I have (as any one should do before sending in money to any type of organization) my research and there are a couple of things to consider. First and foremost...please read the comments from "Ridiculous Comments" carefully. If this person is in the legal field then this person needs to return to law school and learn how to write correctly. If you are trying to sell yourself as being a legit company, then you don't make threats to persons that are just making a statement of what they have found, discovered, know for fact, curious, concerned, etc. Also please note that this company, MNN, is out of New York, New York, and yet the attorney who supposedly sent out these "invites" to our incarcerated family member, is out of Florida, and my son, as I am sure most of these inmates are, is in a Texas facility. If this was a legitimate letter regarding assistance to our loved ones, then it would be coming from an attorney or lawfirm located in the State of Texas. I also agree that if this is legitmate and is a not for profit organization, then there would be no reason to ask for funds up front to do the work they claim they can do. There are certain statements in this "mailing" that are true and correct and therefore make the rest of the statements misleading. For instance, the cost to obtain a copy of any transcript from your loved one's trial, does, on an average, cost $1 per page and yes, it can in some cases be more than the $395 they are asking you, as the family member, to pay. BUT, again, I am suspicious of the fact that this is not coming from an attorney in the State of Texas, but from an attorney in the State of Florida, not licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, who is working on behalf of some company/network/orginazation out of the State of New York. These facts alone make it likely that this is a scam and should be avoided at all costs. Even Prison Talk and JPay have posted concerns on their websites regarding this organization. Please do your own research and make your own decision. Mine is to throw this letter in the trash...if there is someone who is legitimate doing this type of work in the State of Texas, then that person or firm would be in contact with my son, or your loved one, personally and would not be asking for money up front. I know there are organizations connected with the various law schools in this State that do this type of work for free, but they choose which cases they will work on as a class project. Make wise decisions regarding this organization and follow your gut feeling.

refund complaint

I have been leaving phone messages about a refund they promised if they couldn't help well it has been four years and they have not done anything so we requested a refund they will not return my phone calls. if we could find enough people who have been scammed we could get a class action lawsuit against this company.

Ridiculous Comments

Our organization is a not for profit and dedicated to helping inmates that cannot afford legal representation. Our attorneys work for reduce salaries and attempt to do good works for helpless people. Even with their reduced salary requirements we expend up to fifteen thousand dollars per client in research and representation costs. Our clients never pay for any legal services as we provide them for free (Pro Bono). Inmate families do pay a one-time case file fee that is used to acquire the transcripts and court records from the county clerk's office as they charge a one dollar per page fee. That money is NOT being used by our organization! You are paying our organization ZERO DOLLARS for our attorneys to help your family member! If we do decide that we will not represent an inmate, we refund the case file fee in full. Our organization has been representing inmates for over ten years and our attorneys are all members in good standing with their respective State Bar Associations and fully licensed to represent clients. Our attorneys go and visit our clients in prison. How can anyone of you state that we are not legit when you have not tried our service? What is wrong with you? If you contacted our office, we are available to answer prospective client’s questions. You are breaking the law and setting yourself for a full blown lawsuit. Have you ever heard of libel? If you don't want to help your family member, that is fine but to post untrue statements on these boards without factual information, you are doing the injustice that you claim our organization is doing. Based on this logic, in order for our organization to appease you, we need to be on television, have a name that you can pronounce and charge each client ridiculous sums of money to assist your family member..then we will be considered legitimate? Shame on you. Good deeds never go unpunished.

Scam

hey girl, my husband got the same letter and everything just started not to add up so i did research and talked to a friend of mine on the head of parole and she said it's def a scam. I means they say they have helped all the familes, but where are the success stories?? You would def hear about them or see them on their website, but all i saw was the same two stories and a website that didnt help one bit. They wont even answer questions for you. It pisses me off that they would take someones hard earned money like that.

Hi everyone I my brother received a letter from this organization and we sent the money they were asking for $395.00 but now we decided to investigate. I would like to know how many sent the money and received this promotion to see how many scams have been done or if you have dealt with them and had success also to the MNN inc staff you said that people did not put who they were I am not scared and do not mind putting my name as you were cause all you put down was MNN inc staff why not your name and agent number here let me be the one with balls to show you who post real post and who are the fake!! my name is Monica Pina and if you work for Manifest Non Obstante Veredicto Network you should have all my information that I sent along with my hard earned money that as it says on your paper your case file fee will be promptly returned to you!! How about you show me if you are the real deal and provide me with more information and a refund like it says on your letter!!
