I just found this web site and was amazed. I thought I was alone. This will be the third time in less than three years that my timer/sensor has gone on me. The first charge to replace it was $251.86!!! I am DONE with Maytag and will NEVER buy another one of their appliances. I live alone so don't even do that many loads and can't afford this. I never liked the washer from day one. I'm DONE.

I bought this machine 3 years ago, but now the water sensor switch w -10248240 went bad. The mashine have water level problem. I Ask the repair guy he charged 380 dollars and I can't afford it. May tag need to review his products.

I can remember a tv commercial with a MAYTAG repair man with nothing to do. Send him to my house and he will be working on this washer nonstop. The thing has a mind of its own. It picks its own settings don't shut off and many other supersizes. Don't leave the house without turning off the water and ele. to this monster!!!

Washer starts cycle filling with water then stops. Lift & close lid, starts again, stops in 20 seconds. Wide spread commentary on this washer. Maytag offers service, parts and 1 year warranty for $349.00. Why would anyone spend another nickel with this bunch?

I bought washer #MVC5ESXWO Maytag in Sept 2012 and one day after warranty expired in Sept 2013, the sensor switch #W10248240 went bad. Had to pay $263 to repairman to replace it. Now exactly 1 year later Sept 2014, the same problem is happening again with the agitator moving while machine is being filled with water. This time having the part information I ordered the part myself for $57.00 and paid a friend to install it. This seems like its going to be a yearly event. Only paid about $400 for the machine and have almost paid for it twice. Very dissatisfied with Maytag.

Bought the washer brand new from Lowe's 4 years ago. Last summer we replaced the load sensor switch. Last Monday, the same part failed again. Lemon of a washer. I expected a washer that would work for considerably longer without problems, that's for sure!

My washer is only four years old and I had to replace the above part at a cost of $159.00. I feel that Maytag should stand behind their products.

my wife and I purchased our washer on January 2nd 2011 from Lowes'. on January 8th 2012 the water level-temp control switch went out. my family has owned an appliance repair company for years, and I have worked on all types of washers and dryers, and have sworn by the Whirlpool brand until I bought this one. Once again this same part failed in September 28th 2012. This part cost me $83.00 plus at my price and do not intend on continuing to invest in repairs for this lemon of a washer that Whirlpool made and KNOWS is a failure in the making. Maytag washer mod MVWC6ESWW1. Little more then one year my washer failed. Does not wont to fill with water. Technician sad is it a water sensor. Cost me $160. It failed again in 4 month. Cost me again $160 the same sensor. Maytag does not wont to help. Stay out of Maytag. SAVE TIME and MONEY.

Maytag washer is a LEMON!!! It is design not for regular use. It is design for REPAIR! Part #W10248240 is good for up to 1 year ONLY!!! At the end of the year it goes bad and $170 fix is coming to out of your pocket!
