Morgan Properties bought the Mark Center Complex,which consists of 5 separate properties, in September, 2017.
Since then, the issues regarding maintenance of these 60 year old apartments has seen not ONE improvement to the the insides and what has been done on the properties grounds has not benefited any of the residents.
Other than new roofs, which they were forced to replace because many units were suffering from water when it rained, they destroyed the landscaping, have created a rat problem by removing the dumpsters for weeks on end, ignored black mold and stagnant water creating deadly health hazards, leave breaker boxes to ALL units open to anyone, including plumbing turn on/offs, the laundry rooms are often covered in puke and left for over a week with overflowing washer bins -- citing cleaning of the common areas is done only once a week, they have slapped paint on the rotten doors without even opening them, covered cracked and chipping metal hand rails in the same manner, have not replaced the lamp covers in the parking lot (it was all I could do to force the issue of city code violations to provide WORKING lamps and the list goes on and on.
In addition, a good percentage of these apartments units have had bed bugs that cannot be killed, as to do so properly would require money they do not want to be out.
At present, Morgan Properties is being sued (the son and nephew of the owner) for fraud and 60+ other charges the FBI has filed in court. They took money from banks on the pretense to fix up the apartments they own and instead, pocketed it and made fake reports for the banks lending them money.
I have lived here for over 4 years and do not have pests other than screaming children at all hours of the day and night. This area is the Barrio/projects of Falls Church, VA. and as of today, I am looking to relocate, even though the location is 10 minutes from my jobs. I am also contacting the City of Alexandria on the black mold that is over taking the brick, the lack of proper dumpsters, the opened breaker boxes and other code violations that Morgan Properties does NOT care about.
It is a shame, they have so much money and want to steal from banks and rob the hard working people whom make them money.
