Over-charging and incompetence

I was charged 119.00 for a visit; the receptionist completely ignored my insistence that my co-pay is 35.00. After verifying the REAL cost (35.00) with my insurance and armed with my bank statement, Nextcare said they would repay the difference and "The check is in the mail." It takes between three to four weeks, by the way.

I would not mind the charge so much if my son had received competent medical care. We waited for a very long time and he was seen for less than five minutes. The nurse who saw him wrote a prescription for anti-nausea medication and steroids. I took my son to a different clinic the next day, and they ran some tests to determine a diagnosis. Someone needs to inform the "nurse" that you do not treat hypoglycemia with anti-nausea pills and steroids.

This facility is dangerously incompetent, and I would recommend just going to the ER or a clinic (not Nextcare) in Prescott.

Over-charging and incompetence

I was charged 119.00 and the receptionist ignored my insistence that the co-pay is 35.00. I contacted insurance, who verified it is 35.00. I have not received the promised re-imbursement; "The check is in the mail." type of explanation.
The money would not matter so much if my son had received a medical care. After less than five minutes, he was given a prescription for Dramamine and steroids. I took him to a different facility, who actually ran tests and formulated a diagnosis based on their findings. Someone should let Nextcare know that you don't treat hypoglycemia with steroids and anti-nausea medicine.

Scam "discount program"

I took my child in because she was very ill. In the process of getting her signed up for services, they conned me into enrolling in their "discount" program, not informing me that the program will automatically start billing my card $30/mo after a 3 month trial period. Upon getting charged multiple times, I called and they basically said, "too bad, you signed the form." What a terrible company designed to prey on the disadvantaged.

Overpriceing Rip Off

I am so furious. To bad for the public that you have acquired excellent Urgent Care Offices over the entire nation. I have never had a doctor or hospital refuse to take my Medicare and Supplement as full payment. I was charged $170.00 to diagnose pinkeye which it turns out was an incorrect diagnosis. I recommend that if at all possible , you avoid NextCare You will PAY DOUBLE OR MORE WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE PAID at other Urgent Care Centers. Please ask how much will come out of your pocket after they file your insurance or Medicare and Supplement. GREEDY GREEDY is all I can say. I hope this is not what we all have to look forward to when Trump Care comes along. There will be folks rioting in the streets and going to the voting polls..

Overpriceing Rip Off

I have always appreciated Urgent Care in Elizabeth City.NC I have never had them, or any other MD or office, not accept my Medicare and Supplement as full pay, except for a Neurologist. Now that NextCare has taken over,, be sure to find out ahead of time how much you will have to pay in excess of your Medicare or Insurance. I saw a PA for a possible case of "pinkeye" which was misdiagnosed.. I will not be returning to NextCare unless I have absolutely no other choice. I think that your corporation purchasing so many of the Urgent Care Centers across the country will be nothing but a BIG PAIN in the wallet to the sick and that your charges are OUTRAGEOUS compared to other care providers in my area. SHAME ON YOU!. Clinics are covered by PA's, who work hard, BUT YOU AS A CORPORATION ARE GREEDY;. As I said, I will go elsewhere with my emergencies. I pray this Is not we will be expecting with Trump Care. If so, the public is in for a world of hurt!! PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!! I I plan to put this on FACEBOOK also.

Accident insurance claim

Went to my local Nextcare because I can't get into my doctor immediately. Was in a car accident and Nextcare refused to accept the claim number that refers to the other person's insurance. I was told to go to the ER. I called the other person's insurance and they were in disbelief that I was having this issue. Nextcare needs to come into the 21st century and realize they have patients that are victims of car accidents. They need to familiarize themselves with the normal, regular practices of taking insurance claim numbers from insurance companies that are taking responsibility for accidents. My car is completely wrecked, I don't feel well and it just adds to the stress and aggravation. So now I have to submit this bill to be paid by the other insurance. More hassle. Ridiculous. I will think twice before using this urgent care again.

RIP OFF!

Two months ago I happened to be traveling from NJ to Arizona and while there I became ill with a serious sinus infection, including fever, pain etc. As I have relatively decent health insurance with Horizon Blue Cross I did not hesitate to make an urgent visit "out of network" for this purpose. Long story short, I was seen by a glorified nurse, paid a $25 copay and ultimately was prescribed antibiotics. Upon my return to NJ I was shocked to receive a bill for $140.23 above and beyond my copay -- because I "knew" that Horizon Blue Cross would cover the other costs. Not so. Here's why. Instead of charging a reasonable fee of maybe $60 or $80 total, NextCare hit me with a $260 bill of which Horizon paid ~$95 leaving me on the hook for the balance. Is this Horizon Blue Cross's fault? I don't see it that way. NextCare is being grossly piggish by charging more than double what they should and only leaving me to find this out when it was essentially too late to do anything about it. Sure I could fight them but while doing so they would report me to the credit bureaus damaging my credit. This is the game they play -- and it is a particularly shitty one. Unless you can afford to hire an attorney to go fight them you're stuck paying their unadvertised exorbitant charges and if you don't like it, too bad! A word to the wise. Don't do what I did. Avoid these thieves like the plague!

Misdiagnosed

Save your money and go somewhere else....

about 2 years ago I went to next care after injuring my finger... my finger... it was 3x bigger than normal I couldn't move it or touch it without a sharp pain shooting up my arm... something was definitely wrong.... they took xrays and told me it was a sprang.... well when it heald it was crooked.... broke my hand a few months later and the ortho told me it was definitely broken and it the would have set it right my finger would have heald normal....

About 2 months ago my daughter was having a sharp pain in her chest all the way through to her back.... went to next care paid my copay.... when she was taken to the back the doctor didn't even examine her! And told me it was just heartburn!!!! She had gallstones!!!

Don't ever go here... I learned my lesson... I'd rather pay 150.00 to get the correct treatment than 40.00 deal with those idiots that don't know what they're doing... or maybe they just don't care?

I want my fn money back and think my insurance should be reimbursed

Next Care Albuquerque the Petroglyphs location

Our experience at this clinic was horrible. I would reccomend steering clear of this place. The doctor on duty was very young, looked to be under 30. Her attitude was unbelievable. Apparently she became a doctor just to say she's a doctor and not to help people.

Dishonest and Judgmental

My wife and Daughter were in Tucson checking my daughter into a special needs live in facility. My daughter developed an eye infection just before the trip and my wife suffered from a burned esophagus. The doctor told my wife that he had never seen her anomaly before and would google it?!!!! In the end he did nothing for her. As for my daughter he told my wife that the medication that the urgent care facility in Pueblo Colorado (they stopped there during their trip to Tucson) was incorrect. While they were there my wife requested a standard Dr's order that will allow the facility (Chapel Haven) to administer her meds. He refused stating that my daughter "DIDN'T LOOK AUTISTIC"!!!! What a moron! How insulting! My daughter has been in special needs programs all of her life! (she is 23) If I were there I would have smacked the idiot.! We are checking with the state to see if we can file a defamation of character law suit. What an insult to all of the special needs people everywhere. We are thinking of contacting the local TV stations there in Tucson! And finally, after all of this, my wife had me contact our family medical practice to get the name of the medication my wife took the last time she had the aforementioned problem. I did so and gave that information to her early this morning. She called NextCare to see if they could get her a prescription for that medication. Whoever she spoke to at the "cattle clearing house" said they would ask the doctor and would call her back. By mid afternoon she heard nothing. Since she was having difficulty talking I called NextCare back and they gave me a spectacular run around! Right after I got off the phone with them they called my wife telling her that they contacted her doctor in Colorado and he told her to take "Tums" or go the emergency room. I called our doctors office and guess what? They never received any calls from NextCare and her doctor was not even working today. Liars and Bigots! I have filed a complaint with Pima County and hope they shut the facility down!

Poor Service - NextCare

I took my son to NextCare (Falls Valley Rd, Raleigh) two times because he had ingrown toenails with infection. I don't write reviews, but the service was so disappointing I feel I must warn others. On his first visit, a P.A. saw my son - looked at his toes and prescribed an antibiotic. Before getting to the PA, my son was weighed, etc. by a well nourished young female (assistant?) who wore a face mask and gloves... like all visitors to that clinic are carrying a deadly disease. The charge for looking at my son's feet and prescribing an antibiotic was close to $200.00. We returned a month later (I know -- shame on me), this time my son was actually seen by a doctor... and again the same assistant who seemed more concerned with herself than anyone else (constantly putting on a new pair of gloves after she touched anything). This doctor gave us a lecture on how to prevent ingrown toenails from happening... and how to soak your feet when you have them --- but no care was given. This time the charge was about $120.00 (I suppose we received a multi-visit discount). But again, no real treatment. Afterwards, I took my son to a real doctor... and he received appropriate care. I would strongly suggest people avoid this facility and seek professional medical care.

I AGREE!! RUN THE OTHER WAY

Their office staff are completely impotent, not knowing what they are doing, lying to patients about getting right in and not explaining that their "scheduled appointment," would come before an emergency. The office was filthy, not just out in front, but where they take you vitals and the examination room. What, did they run out of money to pay someone to come in and clean the place up like other medical facilities do, I would say that must be the case. You do not make a patient, who is extremely ill, wait six hours to see a physician and not coming out to say anything to you after five hours have gone by. When you are sick, I guess we don't pay attention to time, I wish I had left after an hour and yet, for some stupid reason I set there for "six," long hours. I really think that they forgot about me and/or just didn't give a damn if I had to wait or not, knowing that I was extremely ill. They need to make sure that the place is clean at all times, making sure that incoming patients have a place to sit, instead of have kids taking up three chairs and taking naps. Are they that cheap that they cannot hire people with the professional help they really need, front and back? Do they even go over their resume's, I think not and bet that these women had no prior experience working in such a medical establishment, with patients and doctors. To tell me that I was next and would get right in, was a "lie," and I definitely do not appreciate it. I found out six hours later, from their physician, that I had pneumonia and they made me wait that long to get help, oh my God, what were they thinking. The office manager, if they have one, should be fired and so should all the other front staff members and be replaced by people who can provide a resume with contacts, to prove that they have the background for such a position. It doesn't take much to figure these things out. I went in at 2:30 p.m. and left at 7:30 p.m., they knew I was sick and should have notified me that they could not see me right away and that perhaps I should go somewhere else where I could get the proper care that I needed. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE, YOU WILL NEVER EVEN ATEMPT TO GO TO NEXTCARE/URGENTCARE, BECAUSE THAT ISN'T REALLY WHAT THEY ARE WHEN THEY TAKE APPOINTMENTS BEFORE YOU, EVEN IF YOU ARE THERE HOURS BEFORE THOSE PEOPLE AND THEIR SO CALLED APPOINTMENTS. RUN, RUN AND RUN, THE OTHER WAY!!!! Then they have enough nerve to send you a survey that will go to "their office," telling them how you felt about the visit and I'm sure they don't care about that. It should be from the "Corporate Office," so they can see what the hell is going on at their facilities. HONESTLY, PLEASE DON'T GO THERE IF YOU ARE VERY ILL, YOU COULD DIE WHILE WAITING TO BE SEEN AND WOULD BE BETTER OFF GOING TO THE HOSPITAL ER.

Nextcare Urgentcare

I went into the Nextcare/Urgentcare at around 2:30 p.m. and I signed in, gave them my co-pay and told them I was very sick with a bad sinus infection and was coughing up yellow pus and from my sinuses. The pressure behind my eyes was horrible and I told them I was extremely ill and needed to see a doctor. I was told that they would get me in right away and they got me in and took my vitals and other information, then sent me and my service/assistance dog back out to the "filthy," lobby to wait. I was so ill that I did not realize how much time had gone by and then one of the ladies who worked behind the counter came out and told me it would be another hour and asked if I wanted to go home and come back. I looked at her and said, "this really sucks, I am extremely ill and should I just go to the ER and she said that I would probably have a much longer wait. I do not like to argue and told her that I would wait. When I asked why I had to sit there for five hours, her response was that other people had made appointments before me and they took them "first," before anyone else. Now what the hell kind of response is that, I'm sitting there sicker than hell and they have enough nerve to tell me that I wasn't that important and would have to wait another hour. Obviously, the staff at the front desk are extremely unorganized, incompetent to perform a simple job and evaluation as to whether the patient standing before them was very ill. They should have explained that their "appointments," were more important than someone who needed medical attention, "immediately," and lied, saying they would get them in right away. What kind of ignorant people do they hire, do then not have an office manager or someone overlooking the office staff, I think not, and if they do, then that person needs to be "fired." It was very upsetting to know that my service/assistance had to lay there on the cold cement for so many hours and I was beside myself, not knowing if I should just go home or to the ER room at the hospital. I decided that I had waited that long, I would wait the extra hour and when I did see the doctor, after a quick examination, he told me that he felt I had pneumonia and could hear crackling in my lungs, but did not give me an x-ray to make sure if I really did and how bad it actually was. He left the room and I set there for a while, waiting for him to get back with instructions and a little later, as he was walking by, he told me that I was good to go and that the meds had been called into the pharmacy. I wasn't even given any type of discharge papers and/or instructions as to what to do. I got to my pharmacy at 8:30 p.m. and was devastated as to how long I had actually waited at the Nextcare facility, since I went in and it was the afternoon and it was daylight and when I left, it was completely dark outside. There were Hispanic kids laying all over the chairs, taking naps, etc., and I felt the floor was to filthy for my service dog to lay on and so I had to go around the corner, where there were just two chairs and set there waiting. When does a scheduled appointment for a physical for some kid or immunization shots, come before an extremely ill person who needed to be immediately. I just don't get it, I worked for the VA Hospital for years and we never made anyone wait like that and if you walked in very ill, we got them in to see the doctor immediately. I could tell that my regular doctor was extremely upset and wasn't happy that they didn't even bother to take a chest x-ray, but I think that was because there was only one person left in the waiting room and they were getting ready to close and didn't want to bother with me. I will never go back there and am telling my family and friends, about how they treat people. The office management needs a complete makeover, firing the idiots who work there and get come competent people in to do the right job. I was told that they have "primary care," doctors working there that were taking new patients and I my first and last thoughts were, "I would never choose a primary care physician and/or ever go back there for help, if I were dying." How stupid are these people and so very incompetent to perform such a simple job as a receptionist who sits out in front and signs people in, lying to them that they will be "next." They didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground, that's what I think. DON'T EVER GOT TO NEXTCARE/URGENTCARE, THEY ARE LYERS, HAVE A FILTHY OFFICE AND COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED. They should be ashamed to even call themselves an Urgent Care facility, especially when appointments come before "emergencies." I should have been told the truth, that it would be hours before I could be seen, because of their so call, "pre-scheduled appointments," instead of making me wait up to six hours. I am totally ticked off now that I'm feeling better and will see my primary care physician this week. The office and staff needs a complete makeover, fire the current staff and hire competent people, who have the proof that they can and have worked in a medial facility and can perform the services that the job requires.

Not Worth It

I suspected my newborn son had an eye infection, so instead of driving across town to see his pediatrician, I ran him over to Nextcare Urgent care nearby. I was in the exam room for about 5 minutes, long enough for the doctor to tell me I needed to take him to his pediatrician. Not only was it a waste of time, but they charged me $95 for it. I called to dispute the charge and they wouldn't change it. I suspect profit is the #1 priority at this place. I recommend going elsewhere.

The Truth

Husband was very sick. Per advice of family doctor, I asked office if he could be seen at the clinic or if he should go to the emergency center. Was told he could be seen at the clinic. Waited 2 1/2 hours. Only to be told by Dr. to immediately go to the emergency center. They did not tell the truth. Took co-pay made our family wait for two and a half hours only to be immediately turned away. Talked to corporate office, completed feedback survey asking to have someone call me back and no one ever has. If your family member is in pain and on a limited budget do not go to this clinic. They do not care about you they only care about taking your money and not helping you.

NextCare Urgent Care

Run the other way... My son was forced to go there for Workman Comp Injury in January 2014. They treated him for a back injury. For over a month they kept sending him back to work even though he was in pain at the most they would gave him 48 hours sick time off at a time then send him back to work. When I asked the Doctor (not PA) why had they not taken any x-rays of his back he said they were using the x-rays taken at the ER. I later found out that Cape Fear ER had not taken any x-rays of his back. So how did the Doctor review non existent x-rays and how did he know what he was treating him for? He did not provide the medical care needed to help my son. I dont know if it is just bad service on the doctors part or because it was workman comp insurance but either way it is not acceptable.. He is still in pain today 7 months later and I have to ask if they had given him the proper care in the beginning with more than just a 48 hour sick time at any given time would he have had a bulging disk and be in this pain 7 months later .... Perhaps they are trying to cut costs by not taking their own x-rays, and keeping their workman comp contract by not allowing employees to take the time needed to recover properly and getting them back into the workplace before compensation can kick in. I dont know I just know my son has paid the price for their bad service
