Just got taken by Reservation Counter

I booked a reservation at what I thought was the Candlewood Suites. It turned out to be Reservation Counter. Reservation Counter charged me $2230.95. Subsequently the reservation was modified and the actual hotel charge was $1833.05. Reservation Counter told me that they never give refunds and if I was stupid enough to use them it was my problem. That is how they stay in business by keeping all the money they can get. A true blight on the reservation community.

Booked at wrong hotel

RC confirmed my reservation at a completely different hotel and then refused to refund my charges. This is a real scam! I called them in 15 minutes from making a reservation and they said "sorry"
They try to make their website appear to be the hotel's site to suck you in.
Beware!!!! It could cost you $$$$$

extra charges

My wife booked a hotel stay in Sequim Wash on 12/30/16 for two days, she used reservation counter.com, when we received our bill at the hotel it was $44 less than reservation counter charged us, plus a fee of 12 from reservation counter so $57 more over all. This fee was not disclosed at any time if it was we would have just called the hotel ourself. We called reservation counter and they said well that's the fees, so people beware of this company. I looked them up and they have lots of complaints so BEWARE!

Online hotel booking

Thought I was making a reservation though actual hotel because Reservationcounter.com uses the hotel logo on their web page. I was charged $172.79. When I arrived, the hotel had no reservation under my name or itinerary. At that time I did not know they were a scam so I contacted Customer support. I was kept on the phone/hold for 2 hours and basically given the run around. I was then assured they booked my room via the hotel, I returned to the hotel at 7 pm and told no one had contacted them concerning my reservation. JS

Failed refund for hotel cancelation

I made a reservation for three nights at Hampton Inn Westchester Ill.It apeared to be directly to the hotel. However, it turned out to be Reservation Counter. Because of my wifes illness I attempted to cancel the reservation by 4:00 pm the day before the reservation which was on their confirmation. I spent almost 1 hour 45 minutes on the cancelation speaking with 5 different people along with being on long "holds" Finally I was told that it would be canceled in a few days. The delay was due to a problem with their "system". Since I needed a room for one night for myself they had to cancel the first reservation and then book the new one for $108.00 which they put on my credit card. They had already put $408'93 on the card for the first reservation.
Reservation Counter now says that they cant refund the money because of the hotel. I spoke with the hotel and they said that they had no control over this because the reservation came through a third party. This Reservation Counter outfit made the reservation through Orbitz. If I wanted Orbitz I would have done it myself.
Reservation Counter appears to be a fraudulent Scammer and should be put out of business.

Rebate Scam Reservationcounter.com

Reservationcounter.com had a "Muliple Night Rebate" offer for 3 nights or more. I completed my stay filled out the coupon mailed it to the proper address and received it back in the mail 10 days later "return to sender unable to forward". Double checked the address and yes it was exactly as printed on the coupon. I called them up and got the run around going on 2 weeks now. The killer is the hotel charged us an extra $9 per night because that is what they have to pay reservationcounter.com. So we paid more going through this company than if we had walked in off the street.

Internet Rental Scam

http://thelordchosenreservation.com/index.html

Beware of this website. It is a TOTAL scam. They advertise very cheap rentals in cities all over the United States. The website looks legitimate, with pictures of nice apartments, but their apartment addresses are phoney. They ask for the deposit transferred by Western Union. That was the first red flag. Look up "The Lord Chosen Reservation Scam" on the Internet and you will find several complaints.

reservationcounter.com

My husband and I were driving to St.Louis. I got on my phone trying to find a hotel near the arch. I found the Millennium Hotel. I found a cheaper price than what the internet said. I called them (or so I thought). When I asked if this is the Millennium Hotel Ivan L. told me "yes" it was. I told him I found a cheaper price and he said he would match it, He looked up the information himself. He said he would match the price and he sent me a confirmation number with the price quote. When I got my credit card bill it was not for the quoted price, but for the regular price. When I called to complain I was told that I was inside the cancellation date and that they could not honor the price. Since Ivan L. is a "customer care specialist" he should have known this and made me aware of it. After they get your credit card info, they do what they want. DO NOT use this company!! Make sure you call the hotel directly.

Scam

Totally similar problem. I googled the phone number for a hotel in Houston (Club Quarters). Called the number and the phone operator gave me every indication she was from the hotel. I booked and gave my card for the room and was charged immediately. That was sure a surprise! When I called the *actual* hotel number to inquire, they told me it was booked through Expedia, which made me feel kind of like a crazy person. Fortunately, my reservation *is* in their system and appears to be legit. It doesn't seem that Reservation Counter is a take-your-money-and-run type scam, but they do seem to sneakily usurp hotel bookings so that they can collect the commisisons.

Scam

I want to thank everyone who posted here. I almost went through with a reservation at reservation.com. The site quoted a reservation of 59 bucks per night for the hotel we wanted. After reading the complaints here I searched and found the hotel phone number and called them directly. I was able to get the reservation for $54 per night. I will never use so called "reservation services" for anything ever again. Thanks again everyone!

Scam

My husband and I believed we were speaking directly to Comfort Inn Bellingham, we arrived to find that we had been charged a $12.52 service fee and the parking package we asked for was not available through the company only from the hotel directly. We were then asked to pay an additional $66 for the parking.
On speaking with the manager we were advised that this is an on-going scam by this company.
Call the hotel directly and ensure you're speaking with a member of the hotel staff, otherwise, beware.
Thank you to Brant and Sara of the Comfort Inn for taking care of us, you were both great.

Scam

My complaint is the same. When I called 800-992-2694, I believed I was dealing with Embassy Suites reservation center to make a hotel reservation. I asked for the corporate rate of $109, but was told they only had three rooms left at $139. When I checked in at Comfort Inn, I was told the reservation was through

Expedia, I said no, I made the reservation thru Emabssy Suites. When my expense came through I was charged with a $21.00 tax, plus room rate of $139 instead of the $109 I should have been charged. Ripoff!
