Rude and unqualified pharmacist

Safeway Pharmacy
address: 630 228th Ave NE, Sammamish, WA 98074
All staff are nice except one disastrous pharmacist named Seong Lee. This guy managed to give my 60-year old mother a nightmare experience with a simple covid shot. First he brutally shot her in the arm without rolling up the sleeves completely, making it so painful that my mother described it as the most disturbing shot she ever got. Then Seong Lee gave her a vaccine card without filling up any dates. When we asked him to fill in the date, he filled the date as in 2024 instead of 2023 "by mistake". To correct the date, he rewrote a new vaccine card to us, and this time he misspelled her name. So I have to correct the vaccine card by three times in total. I don't believe one can make such idiotic mistakes by so many times if not on purpose. No pharmacy should hire such a rude and unqualified person as pharmacist ever. Everyone else is nice and skilled except this disaster.

Safeway pharmacy Kingston WA

The prescription bottle was to have 90 tablets, and only contained 30. The pharmacist said to bring the bottle back, and he would make up the difference.

Rude & lazy Customer service

Hello- I was getting a prescription filled at the Battle Ground WA Safeway Pharmacy & they called me to let me know, Something wasn’t working with my insurance. So i called my insurance & got the correct benefits- because my pharmacy insurance had changed. I was unable to go into the store physicaly & give my info. When I asked Ruth if i could give her the info over the phone, she very much didn’t want to do it over the phone. She kept saying it’s hard to do it this way. I kept saying im sorry but i can not come into the store right now. But I need to get my prescription going & filled. Ruth was very put-out & didn’t want to do it. The pharmacy next door - Walgreens, I had to call them a few times & they helped me with the info that Ruth at Safeway would not help me with. This is not the first time I’ve had problems with Safeway pharmacy in Battle Ground - ever since there were a group that was let go or fired from this Safeway pharmacy-it has been a complete joke at this Safeway pharmacy! But Ruth that works there now- has No customer service skills & doesn’t want to do her regular job requirements! So I had to basically do half her job for her!!!! And she was irritating with all of it. Which im unsure why because I was doing all the phone calls for her! Please get rid of her! Even other pharmacies in our are known what a joke Safeway pharmacy in Battle Ground WA is! I have worked in Customer service for many many years & I know Ruth has none(Customer service skills)!

Unprofessional Pharmacy Manager

My experience with Jeff @ Safeway Pharmacy (757 E 20th Ave, Denver, CO 80205)

About three weeks ago I went into the Pharmacy at Safeway, I tried to fill a very small 3 tablet prescription of pain killers for my father. I have filled these many times in the past with no problems, he has slipped discs in his back, he is in a lot of pain and I help him getting the medication, never has been a problem. This time he happens to use them up faster than he should have, I believe by about 4 days. After he spoke with his doctor, they schedule a pain management appointment for the next day, that night he wrote him a small 3 tablet prescription just to hold him over until the next day when he has his appointment and can see him again. I proceeded to the counter and the younger gentleman said he cannot fill them as since he used them up faster than he should have, he needs the doctor to call the pharmacy first. I was a little upset as I just drove all the way up to Westminster in lots of traffic to help him with this, nonetheless I said ok and walked away, I caused no scene or anything, just said ok, bummed out and walked away. I was also bummed as I have Cystic Fibrosis, I am currently battling a lung infection, I have 26% lung capacity and my O2’s is low when off oxygen. So driving up to Westminster to get the script, heading into the back of grocery store to the pharmacy, to find that out, was upsetting as that took so much out of me to do those errands and get to that point, having CF sucks.

I put in a voicemail to his doctor for him and went to run errands, I heard back from his doctor, gave him the pharmacy phone number I received from Google, his doctor said the phone number did not work, so I tried and it also did not work. His doctor asked to just go back to the counter and get the phone number in person from them. So I proceeded back, there was nobody in line, I walked up to the counter and before I reached the actual counter, “Jeff” from about 2 rows back spoke very loudly across the rows and his coworkers “I am not filling it” and made a swarming gesture with his right arm as if he was shoeing away an animal to go in to the other room. I told him I don’t understand I have the doctor as you said, he then proceeded to tell me he is not filling it with no explanation, told me I can ask all the questions I want but he is not filling it, this entire time he was speaking loudly across the pharmacy rows and did not even have the decency to walk over to the counter and speak to me quietly and professional, he just continued making the “go away” gesture with his arm and repeated many times “I’m not filling it”. Politely and quietly, and confused, I was trying to ask him “I understand by I am just trying to find out the reasoning behind you not wanting to fill it? I have the doctor as you asked”, “don’t care, I’m not filling it”. It was very unprofessional, I have filled maybe total of 250 of these for him in the past few months for his slip discs, he has had spinal shots, lawyers involved cause of insurance company, MRI’s and looking at getting surgery to fix the problem. These were a small three pills that he needed to hold him over, they were written legally from his doctor, and the doctor was on the phone as they asked, what changed? Was he profiling me because I was wearing a baseball hat and look younger? I do look like I am in my early 20’s all though I am 33yrs old and an IT Manager for an HR company in Denver. I understand he may have the option to decline anyone he would like, but what have I done? I’ve made many purchases of this, I am very polite, never caused any problems, always patient, but yet he changed his mind to show his coworkers he is boss? He has no reasoning, could not give me one, spoke loudly to me across the rows, very unprofessional, made a swarming ‘shoe’ gesture to me as if he was shoeing me away. I understand this Safeway location is not the nicest and there may be difficult customers, I was wearing a baseball hat, but that is no reason to treat me any better or any less than anyone else, because these are pain killers and a small dosage, all rules were followed and no attitude was given on my part.

In the end I went across the street to my pharmacy, ‘Scales Pharmacy’ and had them filled there no problem, I went to Safeway first because I needed groceries, and Scales only carried the 4mg painkiller whereas Safeway carried the 8mg at the time, my father said taking two 4mg does not take away the pain as one 8mg does.

Very disappointing, will not be visiting that pharmacy or grocery store in general again, what bothered me more that night and next couple of days is just the way I was treated by Jeff, I've never had that before, it really stuck with me and left a bad taste in my mouth about Safeway in general.
