Vents

TECO came to our neighborhood to place a material around the air conditioning vents in the home. The purpose of this material was to prevent air conditioning loss.

After several months (perhaps 6 or so) the material began to blacken. We removed the vents and wiped them with clorox. The material in every room had to be cleaned. After several months the vents blackened again. I believe TECO should return and remove this material and paint so that this not happen again.

KCI Te4chnologies

My initial contact with your employees was not a good one (KCI).
I live in Tampa FL and I understand your company KCI is contracting for Teco.
My yard was dug up (driven through) and 4 stakes left on one side of my driveway without a calling card and no ID.
I tried to find out who dug in my yard because whom ever did the digging on the other side of my driveway left craters on the other side of my driveway where they drove through the grass and also broke the cement. Pictures will be provided upon request.
I started with the Utilities company (said is not them) who told me they thought it may be Verizon as one of the plastics wrapped around the stake was orange; I called Verizon and missed their call back. This has been going on for 2.5 weeks and I had spoken to one of my neighbors who told me she saw the trucks but is English as a 2nd language and did not feel comfortable contacting them in person, so she called me today to tell me she saw them working on Manhattan Ave in Tampa.
I left work and drove to my neighborhood to locate the company who dug in my yard; and I found them right where she said they would be.
My first impression is not a good one, I let them get to me and at the end I ended up lowering myself to below their level if that is possible.
After speaking to one guy who refused to give a name or number and his name, eventually (after having them follow me to my home) this guy said I don’t need his name, of which I told him I want his name to refer to in my letter, he said “use D” I said as in the letter, he said “Dee”, which I feel very confident in saying I seriously doubt that is his name. The other male said his name was Daniel, after coxing to get that much, both refused to give me a supervisor or phone #. I took the wwwkci.com and phone 740 2300 off of the back of the truck, when I call that # I get a voice male with no information of who I am calling. I left a message w/o my address. I also went on line for KCI Executive Contact information, I spoke with a very nice and lady by the name of Deidra Crowl, who gave me POC for Chris Griffith, Exec VP, 936 Ridgebrook Rd Sparks MD 21152, Christopher.griffith.kci.com whom I will forward a copy of this letter to. Have also contacted Teco for a POC to also send a copy of my letter, I also placed a call to Teco’s contact department and spoke with Waleska at 813 635 7470 who gave me a new construction # 1416076 she took my information and said they will get back to me between 48-72 hours regarding the work being done.
My property 4302 W Iowa Ave, Tampa Fl 33616, (POB 13141< 33681) was damaged, this guy Daniel at first said he didn’t tear up my grass, then said he did the grass but not the driveway , and that the grass will grow back, it’s the gulleys I worry about, it tore up my yard and also cracked my cement on the end of the grass on the driveway. The tire marks lead right from the grass to the cement and broke you can see it and the cement is newly broken you can tell by the color. Daniel also informed me that when Teco comes out to put the steel poles in it will be worse, I thought that was a real nice touch too.
I am very upset about the way my property was left and intend to have it repaired by either company and at this point I don’t care who does it but that it is done. I in no way want Daniel or Dee on my property going further. You can reach me Bev Wall 813 713 0768 to discuss this matter please.

I did receive a call this morning from Brian Lawson 941 405 9502 in regards to my message left on the recorder yesterday. He was very nice and professional, informed me that he is currently in Atlanta and will have a Supervisor Wayne Guido look into this matter and that he would be calling me in regards to my complaint. Informed me my property and the unprofessionalism should never have happened. I also informed him of my apology for losing my temper and calling the worker an A—hole. He has assured me that this situation will be taken care of.
I certainly appreciate the assistance I have received regarding my complaint.

Respectfully
Bev Wall

TECO DEPOSIT COMPLAINT

I traveled to Cincinnati in early August due to a family emergency. My brother needed help with medical care. Then I traveled to Chicago because my adult children were in the middle of a move and need someone to baby sit. I forgot to pay my TECO bill. I had my mail forwarded to the Chicago address but by the time I received my TECO bill it was too late. My bill for $103.01 was due no later than August 15 and power was turned off on August 25. I have lived at my New Tampa address for over 15 years and have been late like this one other time.

When my friend and a neighbor advised me of this, I paid a bill over an automated system which requested $175.00 and I had my service reinstated. Later I received notice that the $175 was for a required deposit. When I returned home on September 13, I wrote a check for $210 to cover the $103xx and the next payment which I placed in the mail box for pick up on September 15, Monday for about $210. When I received some of my back mail I noticed a TECO bill for $239 and so I placed an additional check in the mail for $30.00 Then on September 17, I received another TECO notice that I owed $291xx by September 23 or my service would be cancelled. On September 18, I called customer service and spoke to Germain and inquired about the additional charges. He mentioned that when I paid the $175 I did not also pay the $103xx and so I am paying additional late charges and I inquired as to why I was being charged the deposit after so many years and why wasn't I informed at the time of the call or prior to IT that I was not making the 103xx payment in order to reinstate service and/ or why wasn't the 103xx just added to the 175xx so that I would not be assessed additional late charges. He said I should have received a notice in the mail that the $175 was for the deposit only and any billing was still owing. He said everyone is charged the deposit if they have received a final notice 2 times within a period of one year. I said the second time was last September 2013 out of 15 plus years. It appears that TECO IS DOING WHATEVER IS TECHNICALLY POSSIBLE TO COLLECT DEPOSIT MONIES AND ADDITIONAL FEES. I asked to speak with a supervisor who was able to assure me that she could detect my current payments in her system and although my account had not yet been credited for the payments of $240xx, I would not have my service cancelled on September 23 as any monies owing are for the current billing cycle.

TECO

Please complain with the Public Service Commision! I am positing this on every teco site I know so that someone will finally do something. We should flood them with our complaints as there really is no other option. TECO is practicing bad business techniques and can get away with it because we have no other options. So please go to http://www.psc.state.fl.us/utilities/ and file a complaint.
