Charged my card. Didn't deliver or reply to questions

I'm afraid that I can be added to the long list of customers who have wasted their money with this "business" called Touchstone Research Group. I ordered the DD214 Express Service on a Wednesday afternoon. My credit card was immediately charged nearly $130 and I received an automated email saying my order was received. I paid for the Express service because of the urgent need for my DD214. I do realize there are ways to obtain the form free of charge if time is not of the essence. So I see this company's website with impressive claims and, willingly paid for expedited retrieval service. In their retrieval time policy statement, it does allow for a wider margin for completion with a list of reasons that may slow down the process on their end. However, paying for express service, a customer should, at a minimum, be notified if any of these things has occurred. So I email them through the link on their site both on Thursday and Friday with no response. I see in previous posts on this site that there is a 800 number to call them and get personal help. Guess what??? It is a looped recording. At best, you can leave a message. It is really unfortunate that a business will prey on veterans who have an urgent need for this service. It is dishonest and, not to mention, very unpatriotic. Veterans Beware!

Touchstone Research Group

They are a ripoff took my money never delivered anything 3 months are gone. They promised to deliver within 7 days then give you the runaround and bs when you ask for your promised refund! I gave them my name and order number and still the runaround one time its the researcher then its their work they have done although they produced nothing. Not even an update. Why do we need a BBB report when your ratio you provided indicates a ratio in the thousands of complaints for a small company. The web and blog have no shortage of complaints and warnings about you. Sure every company has complaints but you have so many for such a small company! Hopefully soon the gov will address you they are stepping up their intolerance for scams.

Touch Stone Research Group Scam

I called wanting a DD 214. I gave the lady my name, e-mail address, and <unfortunately my credit card number. That was the last I ever heard from her or Touch Stone Research group. I checked with my credit card carrier and she (or they) had billed me for $95+ . I never received any request for my branch of the service, dates of service or any e-mail communication. When I call, they always want my order number-there is none. This is an out and out scam. I wish someone would start a class action law suit. I would be happy to join them.

Touchstone Research

Totally a scam. Quick to take the order but no return calls or emails. They are not who they say they are. Don't order from them. Upset because we needed the DD214 form to have the Army present at the funeral tomorrow. They promised and did not deliver. This is an unfair practice and it will be mission to stop them from scamming others......I will notify all to put them out of business........

Touchstone Research Group

These appear to be very bad guys. I have left them several voice mails and sent several e-mails with no response. I have just filed a complaint with PayPal and would urge everyone who paid with PayPal to do the same. There are already several complaint about this company and PayPal in conducting a review of their status. Hopefully, if enough people complain, PayPal will revoke their status as a vendor so they can no longer cheat people via that vehicle.

Military records scam

Ordered my late father's DD214 from this company.
I received a couple of e-mails during the first 24 hours.
Then, nothing. I sent e-mails and got no responses.
I called twice and as soon as I identified myself, the line went dead.
Left a voicemail and got no response to that either.

I paid $89 for the 7 day service. That time has come and gone. And I'm
being ignored / hung up on.

Now, looking for reviews, I find nothing but bad ones.
If I Google "Touchstone Research Reviews" I find this site and at
least half a dozen others - all filled with reviews of people who
didn't get their product.

If you haven't ordered from this company, DON'T!
If you have and haven't gotten your product (I'm not sure if anyone
does) please contact your credit card company and dispute the charge!
Don't let this crook get away with cheating you!

There is one person in the company - Chris.
He answers whether you call the NYC number, the WV number or the 800
number. Where is this company located? They claim an NYC address.
But they are not listed in NYS Dept of Corporations, Directory Assistance.

I see he has responded to complaints on this site by saying things
like "every business has some complaints.."
This one has nothing but complaints.
This site, Ripoff Report, pissedconsumer.com and 43 complaints listed
on the Better Business Bureau web site.
Is that enough?

I now see that he is claiming BBB has 30 complaints (it's 43) out of 25, 000 orders.
Where is evidence of 25, 000 orders???
Why is there not one single good review for this company anywhere other than their own web site?

I don't believe anyone gets their order fulfilled by this company."

Military records scam

It is well known that competitors will post negative reviews on the
Internet, particularly "anonymous" reviews. Without a full name, case
number, or other identifying material, it's easy to post a bogus review.
It's common, too. We could do it too, to our competitor - but that
conduct's beneath us. We suspect that this is an example of such a review.

Unlike this "Scam" site, the BBB has a method of tracking complaints and
our responses. They do not charge us $1000 or more to correct/verify
complaints! (Hence, the motive to post/allow bogus reviews here.)

According to the BBB, we have had 30 some odd complains, on over 25, 000
orders, in the past three years. That's almost 1 in a thousand!
That's a great reputation by any standard! In addition, to the few
complaints we've received, we have responded to ALL. The BBB does NOT
have a single unresolved case for us! If your complaint is indeed
true, file it with the BBB and we will respond - as we do with all
legitimate complaints, as confirmed by the BBB.

Find any other business that has a complaint ratio of 1:1000!!!

This complaint is most likely bogus, a dirty trick by our envious
competitor who does a mere fraction of our business.

Finally, don't believe everything, possibly to anything you read on
undocumented sites.

Military records scam

I would not call it a scam exactly, while it's true that the records can be obtained for free, it would be worth paying money to get them more quickly if such a service existed.

Unfortunately, Touchstone is not such a service. Once they have your money they are impossible to get a-hold of, as others have said here, and I'll be forced to initiate a chargeback on my credit card, and wait for the documents directly from the government.

Military records scam

They are a total scam...I requested my grandfathers discharge papers and told i would have them by close of business on a Friday. I never received them. So I have call many time. I start talking to someone and then they hang up on me. I have e-mailed and left many messages. I also have called from many different phone number and they answer but if you call back from the same one they send you right to voice mail. So the better bureau office and the Attorney Generals office is going to hear from me on this company. They are scamming poor people who are looking for things that are needed right away and they are never getting them.
