Western Digital trade in offer

I have a mybook live Duo that WD advertised to trade in due to recent security issue.

On July 13th, a trade in request was created on WD portal -( Incident: 210713-002929) providing all the required details for the trade in.

Since July 13, i've followed up with WD on 19th, 20th, 26th of July and the only information i've so far is someone at the higher level in WD reviewing the request.

Request a quick closure to the trade-in request

Re: HDD dead?

Hi avinash1987,

I’d like to check with you, after connected the HDD, is the LED light blinking? Do you feel any vibration from the HDD? Does it show up in the Disk Management? Is there any error message? For the meantime, I’d suggest you some basic troubleshooting steps that may help you to solve the issue.

Option 1: Check and update drivers in device manager.

If the HDD appear with yellow circle with an exclamation mark in device manager. So please follow the below steps to update the drivers.

1) Open the Control Panel.
2) Select Device Manager .
3) In the Device Manager, expand "Universal Serial bus controllers".
4) Right click on your controller and select Properties.
5) In the new Tab, click on the "Driver" tab and select "Update Driver". Then select "Search automatically".
6) Restart your PC and try to access the HDD again.

Option 2:
1) Go into Disk Management and in the bottom-right panel look for a ribbon which labelled as RAW and has no drive name.
2) Right-click on that & choose Change Drive Letter and Path.
3) Select Add and accept the default letter or choose preferred letter from the list and select OK.
5) Restart your computer and try to access the HDD again.

Option 3:
1) Try to connect with different port on the same PC.
2) Try to connect with a different USB cable.
3) Try a different HDD to make sure that the problem is with the Port and not with the original disk.
4) Try to connect with different PC.

Hope it helps.

RE: HDD faulty

Hi rahul_bajaj54,

To check the possibility, you have to check the warranty of the product. For warranty check, you have to enter the product serial number In the WD portal.

Please refer to the link below for Warranty check:- http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=oRiimq

If the product is still under warranty, you can claim the warranty service for replacement. For more information about an RMA service, you may refer to the link below.

http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=TksM0m

If the system is affected by the virus, I’d advise you to scan it properly or just install the new OS in the system.

Hope it helps.
