ah... brakes, brakes and more breaks.. 58.000 miles and installing the 3rd set of rotors and pads! I also notices that it looks like the 4.0 liter is no longer offered for 2012. Bought it new, First set of brakes (all the way around) at 25K.; 2nd set at 40K. I have decided to use the cheapest brake pads due to the frequent replacement. uses 2 quarts of oil every 2500 miles. Rear wheel bearing also have to be replaced.
I owned 8 Mopar through the years (4 of which were new). Switching to Ford or GM. My van in under breaked, terrible gas mileage, Oil consumption... it goes on and on.

Bought a 2008 Grand Caravan from a Dodge dealer in April 2011. The ad on said it was a Certified Used Car, and would come with the Certified Vehicle warranty. However, before finalizing the deal, they tried to back out, saying that it was NOT a Certified Vehicle. I pulled out the printed ad (which I STILL have), and started to walk away from the deal (which I now wish I had), until they finally gave in. Had to take it back within a few weeks to have the passenger-side side door fixed (would close halfway, then open again). Brakes squealed from Day 1. Recently, the transmission started "clunking" when shifting into 2nd gear. Then the van started randomly dying...and not only at idle, but while driving down the road (nearly caused my wife to crash, as she lost power steering and brakes). Now the check engine light is on with a P0406 code (EGR Valve). Today I contacted Chrysler to see about getting it fixed under the Certified Vehicle warranty...and they tell me there is NO warranty coverage. After several calls to the dealership, they told me that it was taken care of, that the warranty info was never entered. Per Chrysler's web site, it STILL has not been it's back to calling the dealership again (I'm driving over there in person after work if they don't get this resolved by then). I will NEVER by another Chrysler product again.

We own a 2008 Dodge Caravan and we've also had the breaks done. 20K and they were finished. We had them replace by our own shop at $875.00 for the works - dealer quoted 1275 just for the pads. 3 months later we received a recall notice from the company saying the breaks were a problem. I sent them the paperwork from our fix and they reimbursed me the entire amount.
We have had many many other problems but with persistence I've had them all covered. Even the catalytic went 2 months ago.
NOW we have an exhaust leak...

We also ordered a 2008 Dogde Grand Caravan and it has been an absolute nightmare!! Brakes replaced 3 times in as many years, rotors, rpm gauge, a/c unit worked on 2xs, the doors 2xs...not to mention, when I took it in the dealer acted like he had NEVER had any complain on any Dodge Grande Caravan...everyone he knew was happy and problem free!! I coulda slapped him after all we have been through! How can we protest and get help? Class action?

We think our 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan is really a 2009 sold as a 2010 because it has hot spots and warping on brakes, hairline fractures on bearings, engine shut off at 60 miles and hour and almost got us killed, bad fuel sensor, bad muffler, bad van. Mechanics told us these were bad problems on the 2009 model and yet our 2010 has identical problems. No one at chysler helping rsolve this.

We traded our '99 Plymouth voyager for an '08 Grand Caravan, thinking it was time to step up a few years. What a mistake! Within the first year of owning it we have had to fix a lot of major things, Power steering hose somehow got a pin hole, tie rods, bearings on the front driver, bearings on the rear drivers, brake capillary seized the rear tire passenger side, sliding doors get water in them and since we live in Canada it poses some issues in the winter! The tires fill with mud and gravel so that every 2-3 weeks I need to pull them off and wash them out. The back hatch fills with dirt, freezes shut, I broke the handle in my first month of owning it. This is the worst vehicle my family has ever had! Unfortunately we can`t afford to get out of this to find something half decent!

I am hoping that this is the right place to send my complaint. I had bought a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT in May of 2008. I had ordered it in Feb.2008. I had bought this van for my wife as a family vehicle. Well, I gotta tell you it was the biggest mistake I have made. I own 3 other dodge products and have not had problems like I did with this van.
Ok, it all started in June 2008. We have had to have the van into the shop so many times. We have had to have the following fixed (please keep in mind that this van was built and shipped to us) seat cushion about 4 times, the muffler, gear shift, radio system twice, windows and then when the van was in the shop for the windows they had put a dent in the van, the air conditioning, back bumper. So needless to say ALOT of things have had to be repaired.
We had gone to Tribunal before some of the big items went, and we lost. We are not happy with this. We understand that the problems were covered under warranty but back when a few things started going on the van we had asked if we could do a trade in for something around the same price and we were told no. So we have tried to work with Portage Dodge Chrysler and have gotten no were.
Our thing is, if all these items are going before the van was a yr old what will happen when the warranty is done?? We will be still paying on it and then paying for fixing it as well.
Recently we had to do something critical because we had had enough of the BS with the van and getting no wee with Dodge, so we stopped paying on it and had it taken. That was how desperate we were to get rid of the van. But the problem we have now is that we are out thousands of dollars and my credit is screwed and the Royal bank is outta money. Why can Dodge not suffer and pay for this?????? We will NEVER buy another Dodge product again.
Iam Military and try to do right. So having to this recent activity was the hardest thing I had to do. I have a wife and 5 children and I had to think about their well being first. So spending this kinda money on a lemon was not gonna happen anymore. But like I said now my credit is screwed all because of Dodge Chrysler.
So any advice would be greatful.
Thank you for reading this message and PLEASE help.
