As a seller I had my buyer contact several companies to find a mortgage company to finance this for us. She contacted the company and began the process in the middle of April and as of the date of this complaint (July 5) the property still has not closed. The application process to 3 weeks then the appraisal company that 21st wanted to use took over a month to appraise the property. Usually a 4-5 day process. After the appraisal was submitted the underwriters received the paperwork and began the 3 week process of doing the paperwork. Every time we call to check on the progress they say "we are working on it!" but apparently they aren't or it would be over and done by now. I have to wonder how many people they have working there and if they are seeking the Guiness book of records title for the longest closing in history. I think someone is making a career out of our closing.
