I've been buying Ecco shoes for their quality over 20 years and never had a complaint about quality til now. I just took out my nearly new formals out(stored about two years in a shoe cupboard in individual shoe bags with horns) to find the leather in perfect condition but the soles had totally disintegrated. Very disappointing and now I'm unsure where do purchase good and comfortable shoes. (hope the new ones I bought last year don't crumble).

Do Not buy Ecco Shoes! For any reason do not buy them!
I had a pair of Ecco shoes that disintegrated within a matter of minutes, leaving a trail of black chunks in my wake, there really was nothing left of the soles. When I contacted Ecco customer services they made me fish them out of the dustin take photographs from all angles, wanted to know the serial numbers and where they were made and bought. Denied they'd had any problems with this particular shoe. Then advised me to post them to the Ecco shop at Gateshead Metrocentre (another three quid wasted on postage), who duly said there was nothing they could do about it.
Ecco shoes are crap, and expensive crap at that, they fall to bits, Ecco won't admit there is a fault, and it's still happening.
Do not buy Ecco shoes! For any reason do not buy them!
