Not working

I bought an android tablet from shoppers drug mart, 5671 Steeles Ave. East. It's not working at all. Then called them and wait for holding for 18 minutes without respond. Again when I contacted them today, they simply said that we can't do anything and instructed mcontact the manufacturer which I feel not fair. I hate them
