Moving - Contract Dispute
Been with ADT for 10 years; never really an issue until NOW! I apparently verbally agreed to a rate reduction in Feb. 2020, which put me in a 3 year contract. Over the 10 years of service I have requested rate reductions when I received notices of an increase due to being a senior citizen on a limited income after my husband passed away. Never an issue. Now that I must move due to health reasons to a different state they send me a bill of $850.63 for breaking this so-called verbal agreement. I have asked for proof in writing of this agreement. Doubt if I will see anything from them! I was going to recommend this company to the new owners of my home, but that won't happen now. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Contract termination
I had ADT and was with them for over 6 years. I had to give up my home due to a divorce agreement so I called to transfer my service over to the rental property I moved into. I had paid for the activation fee and new equipment. Not once was I informed that my contract had started over again. I moved out of the rental place and called to cancel my service. I was asked if I wanted to transfer my service to my new location but I was moving with a family member who was not interested in the service. Not once did they mention to me about a early cancellation contract fee. They also did not mention to me that I was still going to be charge for not giving them a 30 day notice to cancel the service. I called ADT back the following month to ask why I was being charge and that's when I was told about the 30 day notice and during that phone call not once did they mention or inform me that I will be charge for contract termination. Now two years later I received an alert from my credit report and an account has been added. when I check it was from a collection agency that I had no contact with about a bill of about $1200,00 owe to ADT for canceling my contract. I consulted with a lawyer and reported both ADT and the collection agency because I was never informed of this collection and it had affected my credit score. The collect agency ended removing the amount from my credit history and closed the file since ADT did not submit to them that I was notified about the amount owe to them. I had also spoke to a manager from ADT who at first said its out of their hand but then offered to remove what I owe if I connected the service again at my new property. I told him I was not interested did he really think I would go back after what they had done. I also asked for a copy of the letter they said was sent to me informing me that I will be charge for early termination. what was sent to me by email was not a final statement of bill. It only said, We're sorry to see you go if any amount is due a final bill will be mailed to you. I called back and spoke with someone the collection dept from ADT and explained to them that the letter they sent me does not say anything about paying for early contract termination. So I was emailed a power point format of a billing statement not on a letter head or stating that the amount is due. I forward everything I received from ADT to the lawyer and they agreed what was sent to me was not a final bill or statement and nothing in the letter states same.The lawyer helping me out said since the collection agency closed the file we do not need to proceed. well now two month past and I just received another phone call from a different collection agency trying to collect for ADT. I explained to them that I just settled this situation and all they can say is we only doing our job. so I asked for them to send me what they received from ADT to see if its the same invoice they sent the first time and hope the the attorney will open this file again. Just like everyone else being scammed by ADT, if there is a class action lawsuit going against ADT I would like to be contacted. Stay away from ADT

Our business was robbed and our ADT System failed to activate
On Saturday 2/13/16 our Drone store in Chatsworth, CA was broken into and robbed. The Thief threw a brick through the window came in and cleaned us out. The alarm system has multiple motion sensors and the system did not activate. The thief spent 10 minutes going in and out through the window loading up his car. I arrived at the store to open and sitting in front of the store was an L.A.P.D. Unit waiting and keeping watch. (They're awesome guys)
They entered the store with me and watched me deactivate the system so it was confirmed armed but did absolutely NOTHING! We are interested in joining the class action suit against them. Please contact us at FlyCam UAV (818) 678-9151

Will Punish You For Their Errors
Failed to properly credit account for payments. I asked several times for itemized bill to determine why the amount was always so much higher than I estimated it should be, but never received it. Tried calling customer service number multiple times about issue but never got an answer - hold message stating that someone would be with me "momentarily" played over and over for at least 30 minutes each time before I gave up. Alarm was finally deactivated due to ADT failing to properly credit payments - we could have never "caught up" since ADT never credited one of our payments which consistently made our monthly bill $100 more than we owed. Received bill for cancellation of service in the amount of 1400 (still including the $100 we already paid that they never credited) when suddenly original salesman for ADT called to make appt. for reactivation. Went over billing and noted ADT's error in not crediting 100 payment - which directly led to deactivation - yet, refused to simply acknowledge the mistake, reactivate and bring us current. Instead, he acknowledge error and proposed the same "solution" we would have been presented with if the deactivation was legitimate - pay what you owe currently PLUS amount equal to the next three month's monitoring AND sign another contract!!!! Unbelieveable. They make an error, do nothing to help customer resolve it, deactivate the service and then act as thought the issue had nothign to do with their incompetency.
I should note, also, that I was a loyal customer for 11 years and this issue arose when I moved to a new home and made the mistake of having ADT activate the existing system. No credit for customer logevity. They act like we never did business with them in the past at all.

Fact: ADT Corporate is responsible for it's dealers.
ADT is widely known for it's lack of professionalism; even Jay Leno has gotten many laughs when including ADT in his monologues!

Scam and lies
I worked for ADT and found that they had discriminatory business practices. They discriminated in their pricing of systems for minority customers and also low income communities. Their management practices suck - if you complain about anything they make up some crap and fire you. I complained about how they were treating a disabled customer - I found that within hours - I was accused of a host of untrue stuff and within a week terminated.
Be very cautious of this company they have a ton of stuff on line and in their training describing how fair and nondiscriminatory they are - and then blame you find out its all lies after a month.
WATCH OUT for ADT Alarms and Tyco Corporation big liars.

ADT is not perfect but if you speak to the right person they will solve your problem rather quickly.
For rebates Deals Specials and or billing and technical problem I use this number normally a supervisor will help you 1888-720-5982 mon thru friday 8am to 11pm saturday 9am to 10am sunday 10am to 6pm @ eastern time hope this helps you all. I use this number for additional credit and tech issues.
