Battery Warranty

Why in the world do they even sell warranties on their batteries ? They won't stand behind them claiming that your car alternator is bad therefore they should not have to replace your battery even though you paid for a warranty ! What a corrupt company.

Customer Service

10/5/2016 - Just walked out of Advance Auto cause as I'm standing to pay at Store# 6278. Guy at cashier is BSing with an old timer and looks at me several times waiting to pay, but not once did he tend to me and continued BSing. Old timer even turned around, looked at me and said I'm sorry, but cashier just said it's OK and continued BSing. Put my item back and walked out. Auto Zone from now on, customer service is MUCH better. @AdvanceAuto

HORRIBLE IN EVERY WAY

IVE DELT WTIH ADVANCE FOR OVER 7 YEARS NOW ... THE STORE DEPENDS ON THE PEOPLE...WHICH MOST ARE FRIEND S OF FREINDS HIRED OR WHO THE BOSS LIKES NO BY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AT ALL !!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE... YOU GET HUNG UP ON ALOT AND END UP SPENDING HRS FINDING THE RIGHT PART AND RETURNING DEFECTS AND WRONG PARTS, THIS IS DUE MOSTLY TO THE WRONG INFORMATION IN THE COMPUTER, WHICH MOST REPS FULLY DEPEND ON WITH THEIR LIVES!!! AND THE OTHER IS VERY POOR QUALITY PARTS. YOULL FIND PLENTY OF BOTH IN MOST COMMENTS. OH AND IF YOU LOOK AT SOMEONES CAR AND WHATEVER YOU TOUCH YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ..... Rebate Never Received

Sent in form, kept checking, finally it was sent....and never received. Contacted company and they said they would resend......again, never received. Contacted company and they have no record of it. SCAM SCAM SCAM

lower control arms are dangerous

I bought a replacement lower control arm around September 2013. 6 months after the ball joint in it came apart while my girlfriend was driving. Thankfully she wasn't hurt but cost over $100 for a tow. Advanced then replaced it as warranty and the clerk said they knew of the issue but was fixed now. Today on the 10th of April 2015 the ball joint in the new one has become unsafe again. I caught it this time but was just lucky. Who if anyone can I report this to? Someone could die!!!!

Poor service/poor parts

During the week of Thanks Giving 2014, I purchased what I thought was a new motor and transmission from Advance Auto for my 1997 Chevy 1500. I paid $1726.63 for a new motor and $1340.74 for a new transmission, total cost was $3328.10. I got a 3 year warranty on both. Here's the problem! Today is 1/29/2015 and I am still without a truck. I am going on my 3rd transmission and 2nd motor. Advance agrees to pay the mechanic to UN-install both the bad motor and transmission and re-install the new one. He has not been paid and my truck is still right where I parked it over a month ago, It has not been touched. I don't know what's going on or what to do! I just want my truck back! I drove my truck 1 day before the 1st transmission went out and 2 days before the 2nd transmission along with the 1st motor went out.
Again I'll say, anyone thinking of buying a new motor or transmission from Advance Auto, THINK TWICE!!! No one from Advance has contacted me with there concerns, they did however send the regional manager to look at my truck, 2 weeks ago. Still no truck!

Card not accepted

Tried in six different establishments to get my card processes. None could process the card. Do not understand how they can justify steeling $4.00 from me. After they pay the processing/handling on the card they end up with only pennies and lost over a thousand dollars a year as I will never return to the store.

rebate fraud

I purchased Pennzoil products for a rebate of $20. They sent $12 - totally arbitrary. I called customer service. That was slightly less of a waste than calling Time Warner Cable for help.
Goodbye Advance Auto Parts. O'Reilly's and Autozone are across the street.
I won't be engaging in any more rebates.

Rebate FRAUD!!

Received email notifying me that store number was entered one digit wrong, followed directions to rectify, web-error on page, phone number for customer service not responsive, and on it goes. 3 hours into this, and I guess I give up. No rebate, FRAUD! I will not shop there no matter what from now on, do the same!!!!

No rebate

Promised $20.00 rebate on 2 Trico wipers did everything right said I needed a copy of my recipt that I already sent. Searched on internet sounds like Im not the only one they screwed. This sounds like they do this on a regular bases. Last visit there for me.

Faulty goods

You would reasonable expect a national retailer like Advance Auto Parts to sell reputable merchandise.

Clearly not with Advance Auto Parts. They do not give any warranty on the Victor 300 psi air-compressor and give no warning there is no warranty. Clearly they have no confidence in products they sell, or actualy know they have are a problem. Clearly Advance Auto Parts have no responsibility for many products they sell and no loyalty to their customers.

The lesson is simple. Do not trust Advance Auto Parts on any product. Check before buying there is a warranty and a reasonable time period. Or preferrably buy elsewhere.

Scam and cheating

I purchased a PEAK back-up camera (12-15-08) for $69.98 that had a $30.00 rebate. Great deal ! However yesterday I received a check for ten dollars. I contacted thier customer service and was referred to the rebate processing company. They had me fax the information I had, then sent me an email saying that I was not entitled to that amount. BULL, I know what I was buying and for how much !

Fraud and scam

I purchased a motorcycle several years ago, made all my payments in advance and when the bike was totaled at someone's irresponsibility I am the one suffering. Right after the accident I called GE Money Bank and advised them of the accident and that the insurance company would be paying it off. GE Money gave the insurance company someone else's account information and due to this mistake the payment was late. GE Money is expecting for me to pay the difference. They claim that the insurance company made the mistake and that I am still responsible for the balance. Which there wouldn't be a balance if they hadn't made the mistake to begin with!

Bad customer treatment

I recently purchased 2 Halogen Head lamps from Advance Auto Parts, the sales person was polite and asked if I needed two or 1. I stated that I should probably get two because I was not sure if both Higbeams were out or not and told him if it doesn't work I will just return them.

After getting home and determining the bulb(s) were not the cause, I tried to return the bulbs 1.5 hours later. I was then told that because I had touched the bulbs I could not return them and that they were no good anymore. I am now trying to understand how I am supposed to put a bulb in my car without touching it and if that is the case, why was I not told this at the point of sale and where does it say this on the bulb package. In my opinion this is not any way to treat customers. I will be calling the Regional President and will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER and did I say NEVER shop at ADVANCE AUTO PARTS again. It is my mission to deter everyone that I know from ever shopping at this store.

Bad customer treatment

I work for Advance so let me say a couple things...
1.) Not all Advance employees are jack@asses. We are people we make mistakes. It does help us find you the right part if you know what you are driving. I have had customers come up to me tell me they drive a Toyota 4Runner I look their part up... Sell it to them and they come back because it is the wrong part... They again tell me 4Runner the same parts come up. "Is the vehicle here?" I ask. "Yes" they answer. "Let me take a look at it." thinking if I see the part I might be able to match it up... I get to the vehicle and its not a Toyota 4Runner it is a Toyota Tacoma PRERUNNER! Different vehicle completely.. Maybe that's why he got the wrong part?

2.) I treat everyone with respect. if you got sold an incorrect part it could have been an honest mistake on one of my coworkers part, again we are human we make mistakes, don't get ticked off and take it out on me. I didn't make the mistake and I will try and help you but cussing at me doesn't help. You get the same respect you give and that is true anywhere.

3.) for people who do not have their receipts- One a great idea is to take your receipt and make a copy of it or scan it into your computer so you can print it should you need it. Our computers only store information for two years. Once two years has passed it is deleted. We can only store so much information and no you are not our only customer.

When you don't have a reciept we have to go check our computer if its not there we can do a return for you still.. Sometimes our computer will let us just give you cash and other times (for whatever reason) the computer will only let us give store credit. I have no control over that. I can't change that sorry...

4.) the haolgen light bulbs cannot come into contact with your skin. Another poster was correct in saying the oil from your skin causes the bulbs to overheat. Best case scenario the bulb cracks other times they shatter. You need to wear gloves of hold the bulb with a paper towel.

5.) We do check engines and test batteries, alternators, starters all day. It is a free service we provide. Is it to much to ask for a nice thank you?

6.) If you need windshield wipers why must you wait until it rains to come get them? If you know its going to rain that week why not come while the weather is dry to get them changed.. Especially if you want one of us to do it... I don't mind going out in the rain but its cold and now I am cold and wet. And the customer doesn't even thank me...

7.) Suprisingly when it rains people also want me to test their batteries. No I can't take my tester out in the rain it can damage my tester and also could short out your vehicle. Don't get mad at me. I am trying to protect not only my equipment but YOUR car. I was cussed out a few months ago because not only I told a customer that I could not test her battery because it was pouring outside, but also another co worker as well as the Commercial Manager. Believe it or not it is not my fault your car died on the side of the road while you were waiting for the tire to be changed by the wrecker service because you were running your radio.

8.) I am not a mechanic so no i cannot tell you what that banging noise is. If it is bothering you don't bring the car to me take it to a mechanic.

9.) If you are purchasing any of our products for something other than a car/truck, motorcycle or some ATVs and you have no other manufacturers product number don't get mad at me cause I don't know what part in my store you could use. I can try and cross refernce a manufacturers product number but without it I can't search it in my computer for it.

10.) Answering our phones is something our bosses demand we do. We are supposed to answer them within three rings. The customer in the store is our priority but the customer on the phone is a potential customer as well. If you were on the phone wouldn't you get upset if your call was not answered in a timely manner?

11.) If you purchase the product at a different Advance store and come into mine for a return please have your receipt. Or if you have a battery you purchased that is now having problems etc, etc.
If you don't have your receipt from that store I can't look it up. My system is not connected with other stores. I can only look up items sold at my store. If you don't remember where you bought it I can look to see if it was bought at my store. Keep in mind my system only stores receipts for two years. If it is not there perhaps you bought it at another store.

And lastly...
12.) Make sure the product you purchased came from Advance. I had a customer come up to me with a battery problem and he said I know I bought it here. Look in your system. i did. He got mad at me whenI said "I have you in here but I don't have a battery purchase within the time frame you told me. is it possible you purchased it at another Advance store?"
"No I bought it here. What brand batteries do you carry now?"
"We have Autocraft batteries."
"That's not what I have. I have a Duralast."
"Sir we don't sell Duralast."
"Well you did because I bought it here."
"Sir we have never sold Duralast to my knowledge."
"Well I bought it here. Less than two years ago."
"Sir I know we have not sold Duralast in the past two years. We sell Autocraft batteries. Is it possible you bought it at Autozone? I think they sell Duralast."
Needless to say after quite a few minutes of back and forth he finally realized the battery was an Autozone purchase. It took another employee confirming it but he finally conceded he had not purchased from us.

Most of my customers are very nice even the ones who are aggrivated because they got a wrong part from another employee. I will try to correct the mistake and get you the right part. And most of my customers leave very pleased. But the old expression holds true even now. "You can please some of the people some of the time, most of the people most of the times but you can't please all of the people all of the time."

Bad experience

I went into Advance Auto Parts two days ago. I purchased oil and one of the service assistants put it in the car. He did not put the oil cap back on. I drove two hours home. When I got home, my husband popped the hood because he smelled something. Oil everywhere!!! We have been dealing with them and trying to get them to take responsibility for the damage done to my car. These people don’t stand behind their work and don’t care about their customers! This is the worst Advance Auto Parts I have ever been to and is bad enough to scare me away from the company forever.

Misleading promo

15% Off $100 + $50 Off $100 Coupon for a Future Order (Online) - READ THE TERMS CAREFULLY

Advance Auto Parts had promo stating "Advance Auto Parts: 15% Off $100 + $50 Off $100 Coupon for a Future Order (Online)". If you want to save money and not get ripped-off with this or similar Advanced Auto Parts promo READ THE TERMS CAREFULLY or do like I do, don't shop there anymore.

First of all the $100 purchase is before taxes, I got that and added small item on top of the $99.99 purchase I made. However the $50 coupon never came because my purchase AFTER the 15% off was below $100. There were other terms as well probably intended to confuse the consumer.

I already installed the item and made changes to my vehicle so I cannot return it. But the beauty of capitalism is that there is competition and I can take my business elsewhere and educate others to be more careful than I was. This promo is intended to be misleading.

Misleading promo

First of all you are an idiot. There isn't a coupon in the world that discounts a tax amount. Secondly it is your own fault for not reading into what you were purchasing. You are exactly what is wrong with this country. Take some responsibility for your actions instead of bitching and blaming it on someone else, and at the end of the day you still saved 15% so why are you bitching to begin with.
