I DID book a hotel in Peckham (Peckham Lodge) with a non-refundable fee (£419.00) for 9 days. I was fully intending to keep the booking - but tragedy struck through sudden death and forced me to cancel. I cannot tell family not to die because I have a booking with Agoda!

Surely to goodness there should be some form of refund due on compassionate grounds? Can anyone advise me what steps I can take next to try and retrieve some of my money back? I need it for a funeral if nothing else.

I cannot afford a lawyer. Previous emails regarding my booking to the hotel have been unanswered - even before it was cancelled. Have I no leg to stand on? Thank you x.
