Scam on Winning a Bahamas Cruise

They're still at it! I live in Australia and received a phone call today (25 October 2-12) from :Verrica Wilson" informing me I had won a 15 day holiday including a 4 day Bahamas cruise. After about 5 minutes excited spiel I was transferred to "Daniel O'Brien" who said the prize was for 4 people and included stop over and tours in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale - all for only $675 Australian. He then tried to persuade me to give details of my credit card, but fortunately I declined and told him to phone back in 3 days. Came home and searched the internet to find numerous scam reports. How on earth do these scammers be allowed to continue? Surely there must be some regulatory or legal way of closing them down.

Scam

Received the same call this morning from Lisa Griffin - doubt her real name and said her ID was 0905. Then passed onto another agent to register for holiday in next 18 months. When she wanted my credit card details I hung up - very, very, persistent and difficult to get a word in as they do their spiel. Beware!!!

Free Trip to Miami and BAHAMAS

Mayor SCAM!!! I'm in New Zealand I got woken ridiculously early in the morning by a very loud voiced Jesse Willams Agent No: 3814 telling me the same dribble! I told him we have no passports or money for that matter but him persisted anyway tell me they can help by offering a payment plan! I said yeah not interested mate, then he was STILL trying to get creditcard details out of me WTF!! did he not understand me clearly when I said I have no money? I also told him I don't have a creditcard then he said well if you don't have a visa maybe you have a mastercard! REALLY!!! GIVE IT UP ALREADY I hung up! I recommend you do the same. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

Major scam. I'd like to know why these con artists haven't been brought to justice.

Scam

I'm surprised they're still operating after so many years of unscrupulous behaviour. How can they sleep at night ? Avoid like the plague as you'll only get half the money back, then the mind games start up along with the unsolicited phone calls when they're challenged.

Scam

I took a call from these con artists on Saturday morning, same spiel as everyone else. $998 was relieved from my visa card which I was told could be reversed if I cancelled within 30 days. This is of course not the case when I spoke to Anne the following Tuesday morning. She very kindly gave me a refund of $500, I'm yet to confirm if this will see the insides of my bank account, plus an upgrade, YAY!! I don't think she thought I was excited enough, given the fantastic deal she was giving me??!! I received another call from Anne this morning (6.15am same as the previous morning), after I had sent another email requesting a full refund. She wanted to know if I'd received my new vouchers which I hadn't, and to inform me that the $500 had been returned to my visa card. I think this time she knew I was onto them, but I couldn't be bothered going into another argument in case this stopped the $500 coming back (if indeed it was on its way ..). So I mainly wanted to document the other names this company has used so that if anyone else can research this scam they have the bigger picture and the length of time it's been going on. Here's the list I've found:

Universal Explorations / Universal Holidays / Universal Adventures (www.universaladventuresonline.com) Suncoast Travel / ASTAR Travel / Florida Resort Holidays / Florida Resort Travel (www.FloridaResortTravel.com) All Seasons Travel (www.all-seasons-travel.net)

Hope these bastardos are brought down soon :(

Scam

Received same call yesterday myself. Had three missed calls from blocked number before I answered call (so very persistent). Straight away I thought scam when he started rambling and he got excited for me because I showed no elation. He claimed I entered an online competition some two months ago. After his spiel he transferred me thru to another agent (obviously because he had previously asked if I was over 21 and a major credit card holder), which is when I gave them the old beep, beep, beep & hung up the phone. Don't be fooled, just hang up.

Fraud

And in March 2012 they are still at it. Just had a phone call (I live in Adelaide, Australia) from 'David Domain' telling me I had won the trip of a lifetime including a cruise to the bahamas. I knew immediately that it was a scam and said so to him. Hung up when he said we had to pay to get to Florida.
