Scam

Ad posted on Craigslist (I have also reported them to Craigslist) claims they are looking for writers and bloggers. They make the job seem really promising stating that you would make a decent paycheck of $300-$500 a week.

The ad is as listed:

Are you a journalist or a columnist? Are you a Blogger or a message board junkie? Are you a true sports fan? Do you Love movies?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, you can write for the All Star Bloggers network. Your columns will be seen by literally thousands of sports fans around this great state and around the world. We also have partnered with several media websites.

Not a big sports fan? That's okay to we have a department that just handles New Movie reviews.

Your work will be reviewed by a professional copy editing staff and will provide you with guidance to become a better writer. We will provide your columns with any images or videos needed.

If you love sports or movies and you love to write, you will have fun being a writer for The All Star Bloggers Network.

We pay between $300 & $500 a week. Your Pay is determined by the quality and consistency of your work.

Please call 877-502-7751 to request a phone interview. Be sure to tell us a little bit about yourself and why you would be an asset to our company.

If you see this as RUN FAR AWAY. They ask you for an upfront fee of at least $40.
When I ask them "Why? I thought this was a job opportunity, " they couldn't be clear. All they said was that the money goes towards a computer for me and internet access.

When I claimed I already have the two...the man then added that the money is to start a website. Instant suspicion kicked in.

None of this seemed to make sense or seem accurate in the least bit.
First of all why should I have to pay...to get a job?
Secondly, their reasoning was illogical. I already have internet access and my own computer. Websites don't cost $40 nor does a new computer and internet access.

Not to mention, why should I have to pay for any of the above when I already have it?

Also the guy seemed testy and anxious and was pressing me a bit for the money.

This company is absolutely not legit in my eyes.
I wouldn't trust it.

If you have been scammed by them (or if you have had a similar experience with this company) please share your story so that others may be aware.

Thanks!

Scam

I was recently contacted today by a Lawrence Murphy he said his name was from the same company. After listening to him for a hour of my time he said it was just 39.90 for 10 months to give you live training certified internet markers unlimited support, hosting and a website. When I said are there anymore charges he said no then he went on about how he would throw in a 100.00 worth of marketing with it...I then said ohhhh there is another charge so your now saying it doesn't include marketing, He said well not but you can spend as much or as little as you want depending on the money you want to make. He was very insistent on getting my credit card information which i would not give him. We hung up and hes called me back three times today and I wont answer ...its FOR-SURE a scam I have had dealings of this kind in the past.
