Collections on a deceased person's accounts
I received two letters requesting payment for two credit cards that belong to my deceased mother. She died two months ago. I was so disgusted. I am in the middle of probate right now and probate has not been completed due to the backlog from the corona virus. Unfortunately, I don't have the power to make probate court move faster. These vultures have the nerve to contact me (the executor) of the will for payment.
Not only will they NOT get a penny as the bank is listed on probate as a creditor and they will be paid out of the assets as we work through probate so they are wasting their time.
I have also gone to the Ombudsman for the bank to make a formal complaint on this distasteful move. I am so disgusted that I think I will go to the media and complain about their lack of tact and humanity.
