I almost fell for it!

I received an OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF CERTIFIED AWARD AND PROVISION OF PAYMENT letter in the mail.
Scheduled Form 13570
filing year 2014
Addressed from Judging Office & Decisions Center
PO Box 2905 Kansas City, KS 66110-2205
Verified I.D. number #81934740-419514/157462354
It looks so professional and legitimate and since I am active on the Publishers Clearing House website, I thought it might be affiliated with PCH and be a real prize. I had my mom look over it and she too said it looked pretty convincing, I even wrote out a check and had the envelope sealed ready to send out tomorrow. I decided to do some research because the more I thought about it, I realized that anything coming from PCH is very clearly marked with their logo, trademark, name and mentions many times that purchasing anything or sending money does not increase chances of winning and they are all about not sending money in unless you actually purchase something from them. Upon my research I discovered even the Better Business Bureau is warning against this scam and many people have fallen victim to this scam because it does look so convincingly real. I feel like an idiot, and hate to admit that I was so close to being a victim to this scam. I made copies of all the paperwork and will be hanging on to the originals in a file to warn others of this scam and also if there is ever a lawsuit against these jerks then I would have proof that I too was sought out. I may be too gullible to still participate in Publishers Clearing House, but I have heard of people actually winning through them. I hope these jerks are caught and have to pay out to all the people who fell for there scam and the ones who nearly did. Thank you to this website and all the other posts about this scam, it was very helpful.
I went back and read the front and back of all the pages including the thin, tiny sheet of paper that has front and back fine print on it and they go to great lengths to explain that

"The purpose of this Sweepstakes is to promote various products featured by sponsor NextGen, Inc. Overland Park KS 66210. NextGen, Inc,. makes our mailing list available to companies whose products or services might be of interest to you."

They also have a section on Release and Limitations of Liability stating that

"By participating in the Sweepstakes entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Presenter, Insurer, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective directors, officers. employees. and agents (the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of the entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes, or receipt or use of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action the Released Parties liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Sweepstakes, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney's fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever including but not limited to punitive, incidental, consequential, direct, or indirect damages."

These people cover their butts, but only in teeny tiny print on a thin and small piece of paper that I am sure they are counting on blowing away or getting left inside the envelope so no one ever even sees it. This makes me so mad that people can get your information so easily. I just moved to the address I am at FIVE DAYS AGO and it was not forwarded from my old address like the rest of my mail, it was sent directly to this address... How in the heck did they get that information? This world is a scary place for those who are to trusting, and still try to see the good and generosity in people. I pray that God has mercy on these scam artists and those like them and that He pours out a blessing of provision and abundance on those who have fallen victim or nearly fallen victim to these creeps,
