Lack of pet care, improperly diagnosed

I lost one pet using Banfield. My male Shih Tzu died from a misdiagnosis. We were truly heart broken because he died soon after they finally told us they thought it was cancer. My other male Shih Tzu named Tiger became sick and was throwing up uncontrollably and was quite lethargic. My husband took him to Banfield hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. He was told it could be Cushings or pancreatitis and he needed more testing done. My husband gave them the okay to do the test, and they said they would call us. He came home and we waited for the call from the vet. When he finally called, he stated he thought it was Cushings or pancreatitis, but he needed additional tests done and it was not covered under the plan. He also indicated that he would need to be transported down the street to another clinic they deal with for after hours care and there would be an additional fee for transporting him down there and the cost of the additional tests plus have to pay for the clinic visit down the street or he would have to stay at the clinic in a cage in the dark all by himself with no one there to watch him. I indicated we were coming to pick up our dog. We picked him up and we paid the bill for the services done at Banfield. The next day Tiger was completely normal. No throwing up and he was acting like his old self eating, drinking and playing. I called Banfield and indicated that I wanted to cancel my contract with them because I didn't like how we were treated and the care was sub-par. She indicated it would cost us close to 750.00 to cancel the contract. Are you kidding me, we already paid his bill yesterday. She indicated thus was for the rest of the yearly contract. I told her we were not paying for services that have not even been rendered and that we would not be bringing them back there ever again. A few days later we received a bill from Banfield for close to 750.00. I refused to pay it. A few months later it was sent to collections, where I still refuse to pay for something that has not been rendered. I don't like Banfield and I don't appreciate their fraudulent tactics to get you to purchase services that are not needed.

lack of good service to client

TODAY WE WENT TO YOUR SAN PATRICIO STORE TO DROP OUR TWO DOGS FOR SHEDULED SERVICE. THE ATTENDANT NAME ROSSY DO NOT ACCEPT THE DOGS DUE THE RULING SAID THAT THE DROP TIME IS 7:00AM. , NOW WE RE SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR THIS COMING THURSDAY.

NOW I RE THINK IF YOU GUYS ARE MY BEST PARTNER FOR MY DOGS MEDICAL SERVICES, OR NOT. I NEED TO RE EVALUATE IF I GOING TO PAY YOU OVER A !,000 DOLLARS A YEAR FOR RECEIVE BAD SERVICE.

LOOKING YOUR INTERNET PAGES YOU HAVE A LOT OF COMPLAIN AROUND THE STATES , SOME QUALITY ASSURANCE PROBLEMS IS INSIDE , MAYBE MANAGEMENT.

lack of communication

I took my pet Bandit Ahlers, to the Florence Banfield Pet Hospital on Sunday 3/19/17. He had a mass on his neck and they were about to fit him in last minute. Dr. Carson was able to draw the fluid and send to the lab. We were told that we would have the results in 5 days. With Monday being a holiday I fully expected to hear by early the week of February 27th, but was in the office again that Saturday 2/25 with my other pet getting a rabies shot and was told it was processing. I called on Monday 2/27 and was told again that the lab work was still processing. I called on Wednesday 3/1 and was told it was back and that Dr. Carson would not be in the office until the following Monday 3/6. The gentleman said he would have someone call me but if I did not hear from someone to call after 5pm or 6pm. I called at 6pm and was told that I would not get the results until Dr. Carson returned.

When we were in the office with Bandit on that Sunday Cancer was brought up so I was obviously very concerned. When I called on Wednesday 3/1 after 6pm, I was very upset! I should not have to wait to hear about my pets health because a doctor is scheduled off. Someone at that office was qualified to discuss this with me. The receptionist told be that she would call Dr. Carson and get some information. I did hear back and was told that Bandit did not have Cancer but that was all the information the receptionist could tell me. I would have to wait to hear from Dr. Carson on Monday 3/6. Here it is, Monday 3/6 and no call from Banfield. I just called and spoke with the receptionist again and was told that Dr. Carson was gone for the day and she would put "a big" note in my file to make sure that Dr. Carson would see it????

I will not ever bring another pet to Banfield. The customer service given to me has been horrible.

Dog murder

Many times we have pets (esp. true in older pets) who may have un-disagnosed underlying issues. Placing even a supposedly healthy adult human under anesthetic is very serious which is why your anesthesiologist sends you a separate bill when you have surgery. Perhaps they should have given you a better explanation as to what happened, but a lawsuit might not be in your best interest. Cool off and think it through, or possibly mediate before going to court.
