Bank of America AD Insurance

In support of previously listed complaints, I think I was just able to cancel the monthly autopayment of $18.10 to AD Insurance that has been coming out of my 91-year-old father's Bank of America checking account. I called 800-432-1000 and spoke with a very helpful customer service rep who said she could easily cancel the charge.
She also provided me with 800-734-4374 as the number to contact AD Insurance. After holding for 5+ minutes, I hung up. If I have succeeded in cancelling the fee, then I'm done with this nonsense!
I do agree with previous comments that this is a rip-off perpetrated on senior citizens by Bank of America. My father must have inadvertently checked a box, or even worse, needed to uncheck a box in order to decline the coverage. I am pretty sure senior citizens do not need this basically worthless insurance coverage. Very disappointed in Bank of America.

Bank of America AD Insurance

Not a complaint but in support of all the previous issues. My 91-year-old father has been paying $18.10 thru an auto deduction from his Bank of America checking for years. Recently, I became co-owner of the account and was able to speak with a very helpful customer service rep with B of A. She went in today and cancelled the auto deduction. I am hopeful it will not occur next month; we'll see. This is yet another fraudulent action against a senior citizen - he can't hear well and had no idea what the charge was for. Shame on Bank of America!

insurance charges on bank account

My account that no longer has my dad's name on it is still being charged an AD Insurance fee each month. I expect this to be cancelled immediately and since this is actually a Bank of America based insurance fee it really should be refunded since they knew my dad had passed as we had to turn in his death certificate to them to have the account name changed.

Unhelpful

So called the 800-734-4374 to get the monthly fee’s stop coming out of my uncle’s account every month. He has dementia, Parkinson and diabetic. They tell me that i need to mail in the POA. To have it canceled or speak to him. If he is not able to give that ok then what. Stupid people. Taking money from people at this time is sad and mean. They need that money to get by with this COVID-19.

unauthorized BOA ins charge

My mother has Alzheimer's & I am now her POA. I have started to review her bank stmt & see she has been billed $15.38 for AD INSURANCE. I need to see her signature showing where she authorized this insurance. This seems to be fraud to take advantage of the elderly.

Unauthorized chargee

BOA has started charging my checking account for AD INSURANCE, $63.99 per month and they started doing this in June 2018. This is pure and simple fraud. Gerald Mainer, 2497 Cheyenne Dr, Gambrills MD 21054.

So for 3 months they have stealing from my account without my consent or approval. This large scale theft should be investigated and BOA officials should be held accountable.

Monthly Withdrawals from Bank Account

My mother died recently at the age of 97. When we (her survivors) were settling her affairs, we discovered that her bank account was being charge $4.90 a month (apparently for years). The bank representative that was helping me to close her accounts said that the charge was for insurance and provided me with the number 1-800-734--4374. When I called the number and explained that my mother was deceased, the customer service person said the insurance was for accidental death, not life insurance and that she would discontinue automatic deductions from the account. I reviewed several complaints online and this seems to be some sort of fraud that takes advantage of elderly people. The small premiums do not seem like a lot, but if you multiply that by perhaps hundred, even thousands of people paying these premiums without realizing it for years, it adds up to a lot money being defrauded from people who can least afford it. I hope there is an investigation and a lawsuit.
