fraud

I ordered a camera from them on line a couple of weeks ago. I received an email saying that I needed to call to verify my order and needed to notify my credit card company about the alternative address. I called my card company and did that in advance. I spoke to a pleasant fellow at BestPricePhoto and told him that was done. He asked if I wanted to buy a lense (since I was buying body only). I explained that I only needed body because I dropped my other in the lake. He asked if I wanted to buy insurance for that and I said I am covered with a good homeowner's policy. He thanked me and said the order would be shipped. I then received an email saying it has been shipped. So far my experience has been good to excellent. If it really ships and get here I'll be happy. I'll be back to post either way, not only here but on other websites that discuss the company.

fraud

“bestpricephoto.com” is one of the worst shops I ever dealt with. My story with them started when I sent a 2000 US$ order. Their notification communicates 7 days as free shipping which was fine for me.

Four days later they ask me to call them for confirmation as my order has a big vale, which I interpreted as a good sign so, I did. They put me so long on phone to communicate so many things. As I’m calling internationally, I asked him to precisely let me know what he want!

Only then he asked for the following:
1. A copy of my passport
2. A front copy of my credit card
3. A rare copy of my credit card
4. Register an alternate address in my credit card

I start suspecting his lengthy talk as he wants to get some sensitive information. In courtesy I ended the conversation, and then I called my credit card issuer. The bank inform me that no problem in the 1st and 2nd request but the 3rd and 4th is so critical and should not be asked for.

The alternate addresses in the credit card are widely used in fraud and criminal acts. The 3 digits code in the back of the credit card is his target from his 3rd request. Expose this code in a photocopy or an email is extremely dangerous and no respected site will ask for it in such format!

I was really shocked as a person about to be a fraud victim!

Though, I decided to go in the game to the end. I made a photocopy of my passport and the front side of my credit card, and then send it. For another 4 days there was no response from any of their email address include customer services ([email protected] bestpricephoto.com) and the one I had called him earlier.

After several attempt, I was able to catch the same person on phone. He pretended as he is not checking his email frequently and he is sorry for the delay, and then he promises to process it immediately as everything is ok.

After 10 days of my order and 2 days of my call this was the massage I received!

Hello,

shipping department just notified us that camera is not in stock at this time and it will take 2 weeks until we get it back . Thank you

As a conclusion: I’m strongly not recommending to deal with is site and to be extremely careful.

Best wishes.

fraud

Another BS response from BestPricePhoto. He doesn't address why his store asked for rear copy of a person's credit card and why ask for alternate address designation. What does that have to do with verification? The high Internet fraud he speaks about is done daily by his store. BUNCH OF CROOKS!
