Our initial ordeal started 2 nights ago when we landed in Mauritius and happily headed to the sugar beach hotel. Only to be told that we are booked in to stay for the 9 nights as confirmed. However the hotel is full and they would be moving us to the sister hotel next door.

I specifically booked the sugar beach because it is a 5 star hotel and booked the room with the beach view wanting it to be a special experience for my husbands birthday. The hotel now wanting me to downgrade to a 4 star hotel was unacceptable. No options of a refund were given to me or any other options.
It was late and I was tired so I booked in at the Sofitel hotel next door and called booking. Com this morning to sort the matter out for me. They advised that they are waiting for the sugar beach hotel to advise on the refund. I have been out of pocket by having to pay for new accommodation. Being pushed from place to place told that Agoda is the travel partner who booked with the hotel and not booking.com so not sure who is sitting with the money. I just need a refund of my money taken for 9 nights at sugar beach hotel.
