Leaking Coleman Lantern

****WARNING STAY AWAY FROM CAMPING WORLD*****
They do not value their customers once you drive away!!! We purchased this unit in November of 2018 at Camping World Tyler, Texas and had a leak at the time and was assured it would be fixed through there rigorous testing. In June of 2019 we had to take it back to Tyler, Tx service department for the same leak. It stayed in there shop for three months due to having to replace the whole water damaged slide from a seal being installed incorrectly(not to mention when the replaced the slide they left screws to long and shredded our vinyl flooring). We were so dissatisfied with Camping World customer service they couldn't even communicate with us on what was going on. So now it has happed again the leaking in the same spot. This time we took it to another Camping World in Bossier, La and we are having trouble with the manufacturer warranty wanting to cover the same issue not fixed right the 2nd time. We reached out to the General Manager(Brandon Whitham Tyler, Tx)and wanted a buyback on our camper but he came back with some low ball amount that is way lower than what is owed so now we are stuck with useless camper.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

I purchased my 2020 Freedom Elite in your New Braunfels, Texas location on 8/22. When we were doing the “check-off” list of what I need to know – he breaker kept tripping. I was told at the time – they could fix that. I was not told what the issue was except – hey you can take your unit now. I drove it home and it sat for one week. I had a trip planned and got on the road. Things were great – I purchased this unit to get ready for retirement and be able to visit my kids and not be a burden to visit since I have 2 dogs (they are my world). My trip had planned a visit to friend in Colorado and Utah. I got side tracked since my grandson plays guitar and had a show. I decided 10 hours east to be with family would be more important.
I parked my unit at my daughter’s – she has a 30-amp available since they also own a camper and have kids visit. I was awakened at 1:50am Wednesday morning by the fire alarm going off. I don’t remember seeing a lot of smoke, but I could smell wire/plastic burning. I immediately turned out the AC – refrigerator and disconnected the battery. Opened all the windows and walk outside so I could see if anything was on fire. There was nothing I could see, so I left the windows opened and stayed awake for the reminder of the night – worried.
I texted Maggie – the sales woman at the New Braunfels location and a service guy Jon called me. He instructed me to take the unit to your Tyler location (first gave me the wrong address and no one know who my ultimate contact was). We finally found the location and was told they would take it all apart and see if they could find any burned spots. Ronnie has been pretty good about keeping me notified.
I called them this morning since I missed his call yesterday ( my service is not good out here in the country) and a Melinda told me that after I had spoken to Ronnie that they thought it was the AC unit - what the exact problem is – I was not told – but they would put it thru the warranty process and would probably have one ordered and replaced by maybe Saturday. Melinda is now telling me – warranty has said – no that can’t be the problem – get it back in and re-evaluate.
I am at the mercy of my daughter right now and I need to be back at work on Monday. I am about 6 hours away from home. I have my 2 dogs and I am at my wits end.
I am scared to keep this unit because (1) was told this is just a “freak thing” – well this freak thing could have killed me. My mind goes back to the fact that if my dogs were alone during the day and this happened - would this unit go up and flames and I lose them.
I don’t feel safe or comfortable keeping this unit any longer. The finance guy Ron, told me at time of signing – I had 90 days to return the unit. Of course, when I spoke to him about these issues, he said he doesn’t remember saying that so I reminded him of the “blanket” story he told me and please don’t wait until 89 days to bring it back – you will know if you want it or not pretty quick. Then he said, well we can’t take it back because I had the film and wind shield treatment done since I purchased the extended warranty. Not realizing I would have the issues I am having and not the peace of mind to know I can do anything and feel safe in leaving my dogs alone. What is the purpose of keeping this so it can stay parked in the yard? I am so sad that the sales person and finance person – are not willing to stand behind their words and now their actions have led me to this.
Bottom line – I don’t want this unit – I don’t feel safe – I was told things to sign and give $7000 for an $80,000 product that I don’t have, or I guess I don’t know when I will get back.
If I must pay some sort of – I used it once and had it for 2 weeks/ cleaning fee to get this unit back to your dealership and out of my name – this is what will make me happy.
I hope that you can understand – right now I am stranded and I don’t know how I (and my dogs) am going to get home and go on with my life without this thought in the back of my mind – we could have died and no one seems to care.
I appreciate you helping me out and I hope you can understand how I feel.

AS of today - NO coach NO money NOTHING.....
