Escrow funds held after claim paid and documents
Cenlar took over as loan services for Flagstar Bank on our mortgage. They continue to hold funds in escrow for an old, long-resolved insurance matter, despite our time-consuming retrieval and sending of documentation to demonstrate this. The work is done, the contractor paid, their own inspection completed, and yet they still say they need "one more" piece of information before releasing the escrow balance of over $7,000 (an amount which doesn't correlate to anything about our repairs). We've spend hours tracing and sending documentation on this issue, which was done before Cenlar even took over the loan servicing. They say there is "no manager available" with which to discuss this and resolve it once and for all. I'm seeking the next step; what legal recourse is available to solve this? Venting doesn't help......
