Unathorized charge

Recently received a phone call from a collection agency and a bill from Century link for a damaged cable for 500$ on my property. I don't use Century Link and never did see Century Link on my property repairing anything. Why have I been turned over to a collection agency when I have never seen this until today? I will refuse to pay this
