Century Link Rip Off
I switched my business to Century Link in Aug 2011. I finally ported one of the numbers out to Verizon in January, because calls kept getting forwarded to incorrect telephone numbers. The first bill I got for 2 lines plus DSL was about $550.00- not sure why, but paid it anyhow. I got a bill today for $ 1313.85. That's right 1313.85. The are charging me with breaking a contract- I have no clue what kind of contract they are talking about- I have not seen it. Customer service tells me the contract is printed on the bill- I cannot find it. I also did not sign anything, nor was I advised I was getting into a contract when I bought the service. I was told it was a month to month plan. Ours is a very small business- we get perhaps 20 calls a week on those phone lines and there is perhaps an hour or two of DSL use daily. We have been billed close to $2, 000.00 for 6 months of service- twice what our old carrier charged us and a former salesman is getting our forwarded calls stealing our customers. I will be porting the other line to Verizon and buying an aircard to replace the DSL now. My business is already on the brink of bankruptcy, and being tricked by century link didn't help matters at all. Cox is just as bad as century link, however, they require no contract. Land lines are soon going to the dustbin of history- there is no need for them anymore, and they charge far more than the cell companies do.
