Internet service "no compete clause for other providers"

CenturyLink is the only provider in the 34473 area and only offer 1.5 mgb which is horrible service. Consumers should have the right to find a better provider when not receiving such services with the company they are with. The consumers didn't sign up for "no complete clause" which CenturyLink has. A customer paying for services of $100 a month for services they are not receiving, not only are they not receiving services, they don't have an option to upgrade to a higher megabites because why "You don't offer anything in this area other than 1.5mgb". The consumer has called other businesses to seek new services but we're told there is a "no compete clause". This is a breach of contract on your end to provide service and the consumer should be credited for their troubles until there is a no compete clause and or when they are offered a better package of internet usage. The consumer has no other options but to deal with such horrible service. CenturyLink should have a class action lawsuit against them in regards of such horrible service, customer service and business aspect. Why should a consumer be stuck in a contract when you don't offer or provide good services. The consumer has been a member since 2002 and should be reimbursed for their troubles. When the consumers has been told numerous times that they will be receiving better services soon but 4 yrs later nothing. This is confusing and misleading to the consumer under the FDCPA and a violations to their consumer rights. This sounds like a monopoly run for the consumers to be in such acts. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC with such actions provided by CenturyLink.

Hook line and Stinker

My name is Boyd Foote, I have been a Comcast customer for internet for years. I usually don't give door to door sales men the time of day, but when the Centurylink sales rep came around, a few things he said caught attention. He said I would pay less money for faster internet. Still a bit suspicious I invite him in to find out the angle. I told him years ago I had DSL and I was less than impressed with it. He assured me this is not DSL it is a fiber optic line with a dedicated service line. I still said I did not trust it, and his come back was for me to just try it for 30 days, and that I could cancel within the 30 days, and compare them both side by side. I agreed to do this. hind sight dumb mistake. They came and did their istallation. WTF it was DSL not some fiber optic dedicated line. I checked the download and upload speeds that night. download was less than half my cable and upload hardly even touched the chart. So the next morning called Centurylink and cancelled and shipped back the modem same day. Was told it was all taken care of 30 days later get a bill from them, my wife calls them back talks to a supervisor and is told it is taken care of. 30 more days go by and we receive yet another bill, my wife called again, talks to another supervisor, and explains our frustration with the company. the supervisor assures my wife it is all taken care of. 30 more days go by and now a collections company calls in their behalf. Once again extremely frustrated we reach again to Century link, and once again we are told it was taken care of, another 30 days goes by the collection company once again calls us, but this time when we reached out to Centurylink the supervisor told us that each time the 30 day guarantee was rejected by their financial departed saying home service was not covered. Not worth the credit his, so pay it vowing never ever ever ever to even look it centurylinks dirction and to do our best to keep others from going threw our frustration. and to top it all off on final payment they charged another fee of $5 to process the payment.

Incompetence

Had service with this company for land line and internet in Lacey, WA. Had to move to Bellingham and tried to move service. Was told that this was no problem but they had to change our phone number. Was called enroute to our new location and told that all services were up and running. Arrived at the new location and NOTHING was working. Found out after four phone calls that the account had never been moved over or changed. Still received two bills for service - there is no service with Century Link because it was canceled on the 14th of November. Every time you call this company you get a different answer to a question - even if you ask the same question. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would avoid doing any business with them at all costs. Cheaper is not always better. Every customer service rep is 'sorry' about something. You will hear the 'sorry' word over and over again.

Worst Customer Service Arround

When we moved 22 months ago we decided to bundle with Direct tv and Centurylink for tv and internet. Centurylink never showed up to install our service, and since I have a MIFI connection through work, we forgot about it. In almost 2 years we never received a bill from them so I never gave it another thought. But now we are in collections, and after six and a half hours on the phone today I found out that they went to an address that we lived at 5 years ago. Should be a simple fix, we haven't lived at that address for years 3 prior to this account being opened. Well you would be wrong. They have transferred me from department to department all day. I talked to 10 people, and every time I was hung up on, or sat on hold with nothing to show for it. I guess they feel like they are so big they'll screw me around and I'll give up. If they did they were wrong. It's my mission to let everyone who will listen to me bitch about these bastards, and try to save others from these crooks. Big corporations don't respect people. It's money or collections. Even when your right and their wrong. PROVE YOU DON'T OWE US.
