Your company is horrible!! I had a cart full of groceries, and I used a check. I have great credit, pay my bills on time every month, and have NEVER had a check bounce. My check was declined in front of a store full of people, and a man even asked if he could pay for my groceries......how embarrassing!!! I will be getting in touch with the Better Business Bureau. I've also got my bank looking into this. This business ought to be ashamed for declining good customers THAT HAVE NEVER HAD A FINANCIAL ISSUE!

Well I have prepaid cards so that I can cash a check on the go but certegy won't let me and they have no reason why? If someone writes you a check and you want to cash it on line and add it to one of your cards you should be allowed to. Certegy denies every check and its not from me its too me. They are so lame

Unbelievable, been writing get checks for 30 years without a problem, ever. This so called company Certegy, denied my wife's check at target for $100. The clerk said her check was bad, of course it isnt. How embarrassing and slanderous to assume this. This company is disgraceful.

Certegy declined my check based on my Last name. I have never bounced a check, I have credit score of 800 and I had 3 times the amount of money needed to clear the check. I purchased new bedroom furniture, paid the deposit via check at the store with no problems. The furniture came in the company set up a delivery time and date. The furniture company said there was a balance of $11,000.00 dollars due at delivery, and stated they would take a check up to $6000.00 I said ok I will just pay the total amount now on a credit card. The accounting dept at the furniture store said well we will put 1/2 on the credit card and you can pay with a check when the furniture is delivered. I agreed. The Furniture store has taken my checks, they know who I am and they really like when I come in because I usually spend between 15,000 and 20,000 dollars.
On the day of delivery I give the driver my final balance of $5,000 via check. He calls it in and Certegy declines it. I call my bank they could not believe they would decline the check I had 3 times the amount in my checking and even more in savings. They also said they really didnt know who certegy was. I called Certegy to find out why they would decline my check without checking with my bank, I also told them to check my credit score they would not. I asked what information do they have that would bring them to decline a check from me? They said they could not tell me because then I could commit Id Theft, they only thing they would tell me is my last name is on the decline list and that is all they would disclouse to me. My last name is Alvarado, there is probably 1000's of Alvarado's who pay their bill just like me.

I have dropped Amica Insurance for the same type of reason. Certegys customer service is nonexistent, Amica must know this, so I will take my insurance business elsewhere. I would not recommend Amica to anyone. There is an old adage, if you make your customers happy, you are lucky if they tell ONE person about it. If you make them unhappy, they will tell anyone who will listen about it.
