CitiMortgage is requiring me to carry 80% of the replacement value of my home instead of the principal payoff balance on my loan. We have made several improvements on our home over the last 10 years so of course the value of my home is going to be worth more than my loan balance. According to the National Flood Insurance Program I am only required to pay the principal payoff balance or 80% of replacement value whichever is less. Every year they have increased the amount of insurance that we are required to carry, I am now currently paying more for flood insurance that I am on my homeowners policy. Sick of these lending companies taking advantage of the hard working class.
