CTS Canadian Career College, seemed like a good college at first. But they were just selling me with the line "Why would you do a two year program, when you could get to work in 10 months?". However the credits are not transferable, the staff are rude, and uncooperative. Teachers refuse to accomodate if you ask them to teach in any way other then sitting at a desk and reading to you off a power point. The financial aid officer that does the orders for books, will take your money and try to not give you the books that were purchased! One has to complain to the University of Ministry of Training for University and Colleges, and seek compitent help from financial aid officers at community colleges that are honest and actually do their job. This place is a nightmere, and charges double the price for an accelerated program when the staff are saying they are willing to help you pass, but in their actions they aren't. They will not show up for afterschool help that is scheduled, or will be condescending and snobby if you "don't get it". This school is a waste of student money and time. One is told that it is possible to get a job in ten months, but if one wants to work anywhere other then Sudbury you better have a connection in the company because otherwise there is no edge on the competition in the job market. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO ATTEND THIS COLLEGE! Students stay away, spend your money where its useful and people treat you with the respect and dignity one deserves as a student and consumer!

This is more feedback rather than a complaint. I went to CTS for the IT course and got hired at the local hospital after they came to CTS looking for volunteers while I was attending College which is where I ended up doing my Co-op. I ended up working at the hospital fulltime for a happy 2yrs but then got layed off due to financial problems with the hospital itself.

My only disapointment was when I moved to Ottawa in search of a Government IT related jobs and realized that CTS was not recognized by any Federal or Provincial departments. You can't even fill out a complete online Fed gov application since CTS is not listed in the list of appoved Colleges. All well paying IT jobs (more than $15hr) require at least a 2yr College program. Now having said that, there are plenty privately owned companies that will still hire you and offer a reasonable salary. Remember that IT is a huge field with tons of various branches you can go to. CTS overall qualifies you for what is probably the 1st branch which is Help Desk.
