MATERNITY CLAIM BENEFIT
I have applied for my Maternity benefit in September 2022. First applied on Ufiling with no sucess to date. Every time I called they always told me that they will follow up, so I decided to go straight to the department to apply. I've visited the Randburg Labour Department on 6 occasions already. The first occasion I got turned down as their "systems were down". The second visit I finally made it into the department and they processed the application advising that all my documents were in order. The third occasion I got a call to say that my UI19 had an error which I rectified the very same day. The fourth visit I got another call to say that I need to get my bank form corrected as the wrong account type was selected which I did the very same day. I then checked my status and it said that my application was denied. I then went back for the fifth time only to be told that my signatures on my forms don't match which I got corrected the same day. The official then told me I should come back in January as they were closing for the December period and come straight to the assessor. I went there today, joined a line and waited for their power to come back as there was loadshedding and the securities at the door are full of arrogance! I was told that I should join the line without even listening to what was my enquiry was about. I then explained to the female security that I was told to come back and see the assessor. She said that she doesnt know of an assessor at that department but I should go in and check. She had let me in but the male security then saw she let me in and literally chased me out back outside to join the line without even listening to what I have to say or answer my questions as to why should I wait in the line if there is no assessor there. He then started pushing at me for me to get out the department and go outside into the line. This is absolutely disgusting behavior for security guards ! They are supposed to be there to assist us not behave in that manner!! Both male and female security guards then started speaking in their language and telling other people at the entrance that I am pushing in and I am lying that I need to see the assessor because I just want to go inside and skip the queue. I had a simple question as to why should I join the queue if there is no assessor there. But they didn't even give me a chance to ask that question. This is absolutely unacceptable that we have to go through this run around for money which is owed to us and still deal with security guards which behave in that manner!!!!

UIF SUBMISSION
Submitted my uif documents on line and to this department end of September 2020 after being retrenched.
Called them more than 30 times, email them countless times, been to the department 5 times standing outside in a queueing system for 5 hours each time. Forms change resubmission of forms they say are "out dated" filling in paperwork over and over again. They tell you you will get paid in 25 days, if no payment report back to their offices. Stand in the wue for another 5 hours in the freezing cold. Tell you to wait 7 days for payment, still no payment. One guy assisting thousands of people while their offices are empty just the workers in the office. You have to stand outside. 10 months no money. I am speechless, been shunted from pillar to post. They lie to you and send you away each time same result. If someone can assist please email me at

Terrible service
To whom it may concern
I have been unemployed from December 2019. For someone going through the process of applying for uif is something rather new and scary. I would like to complain about the lack of service and efficiency that department of labour has in randburg . You hear the stories about how lazy or the workers dont really care about the client. Not having an income especially at the beginning of the year is already so stressful but to be told every single time I am there that the system is offline and to think the money that myself and the rest of the people have borrowed to get just to turned away once again. I was left in tears today as this is my 4th time to be turned away after sitting for 5 to 6 hours not having a single thing to eat only to be told when i am next to be assisted that the system is down and you need to com3 back again tomorrow and stand in the long quire once again. Something needs to be done. Why are people not informed before hand or when we enter through those doors. Why do they make us for hours only to be told they cant help us.

When I finally hoped I found help from a commissioner called tebogo Makoe who asked me to the send him ui19 and salary schedule of which I did. When I called for follow up no one picks up, he send me a message saying his been having a problem with his system for a week now, what amused me is how can a commissioner be without a working system for that long no wonder our claims takes long. Please get your act together.no wonder your officials are so arrogant cause they know that even if we complain it will still take us time to get help

I applied for my maternity leave claim since February until today I still haven't received any payment. When ask what is the problem they told me that they are paying lot of people am still on the waiting list. My company is paying me few rands and they still take uif money.the government has to shut down the programme cause they don't know what they are doing but cause troubl
