scam for Sampler points

Diamond Resorts International sold us a credit card and a "Sampler" for $4000.00 last December for 2018.
We didnt use the points and were charged for not only the credit card but just received bills for an additional amount of $4300.00 in assessments and fees. My husband has tried to sell the points but is always lied to. When we tried to use the points recently we were told we had to pay an additional $500 up front just to use the points.
How can we end this membership legally? They just won't take no for an answer and lie to not only us, but man others on the websites I have browsed.
I read about a class action suit.We would participate. This is illegal, not to mention just unfair to people!
Thank you,

They defraud members

We were defrauded by Diamond Resorts for $15,500 in 2016. What happened is that their salesperson made representations to us which were not in the written contract we signed. We found out later that virtually nothing he represented to us at the sales presentation in order to induce us to buy was true. Details follow.

We only went to the presentation to receive the attendance reward. After a few hours of the listening to the usual spiel trying to get us to buy more anyway even though it made no sense for us who wanted to "sell" what we already owned (for zero, which I have always known as the industry standard practice) what they already owned, we made our position clear and started to leave. At this point our salesman offered us this "great new deal" Diamond could offer members who bought more points to become 'silver' members. The deal was that if we became silver members, after three years we wiuld have the option to sell all our points back to diamond for $108,000. He also put this phoney deal in writing (which I have). I was extremely skeptical because aimhad never heard of a timeshare buying back points. However, after he repeated this 'new deal' for about 5 times we finally decided that he couldn't possibly be flat out lying to our face, and if he was a reputable company would rescind the contract, we signed. When we later found out that the deal he had offered us was totally fraudulent, we asked Diamond (repeatedly, orally and in writing) to rescind the contract because we had been defrauded. Their response...."it doesn't matter" what the salesman told us or even wrote down. The only thing they care about is that we signed their written contract. So they don't stand behind whatever the salespeople are claiming. Basiclally, we were told over again that "well, you signed the contract", even though the only reason we signed was because of what their salesperson told us which turned out to be a fairy tale. We are talking about major phoney representations, not minor. Obviously when salespeople know that when their company doesn't care if they make up a pack of lies to elicit a sale, if they are unethical they will say anything to get a commission. These people are totally unethical if not criminal. We want our money back!

Diamond Resorts International

High Maintenance Fees is making owning a Diamond Resorts Timeshare just a nightmare. The fees have increased so much now that it makes buying holidays independently cheaper.

I have looked in the UK for advice on how to get rid of my timeshare and I have been referred to a law firm in Birmingham, called Praetorian Legal. I have spoken to them and they have helped hundreds of people get out of their timeshare agreements. They way we are sold the timeshare I understand may have been unlawful and it may be that we don't have to pay the annual maintenance fees anymore.

I have started the procedure so keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyone else looking for help with terminating their Diamond Resorts Timeshare agreement can also try them - praetorianlegal.com

Misrepresentation on your sales pitch for the Sampler Package

My husband & I have been time share owners for over 15 yrs. Trust me we don't like that our maintenance fees have gone from $400 a year & an exchange fee of $79 whenever we go anywhere besides our home resort which is Polo Towers in Las Vegas to over $1,200 a year & exchange fee of $189 (ridiculous is the understatement). We own a deeded fixed week which apparently isn't worth the paper it was written on,,. We have known for a long time we may end up on the point system but in the meantime no one has convinced us to go that route. A couple yrs. ago we sat in on our first point-system presentation
given by what appeared to be a very nice salesman named Andrew. He gave us his cell # & we could call him anytime, yada, yada. My husband was working at the time and by the way is still working so it was against my better judgment to buy into this sales pitch because as we all know when we're working we can't always get time off to check out these properties that we're buying. Still we felt like we need to know more about the point system. Andrew told us there was no expiration on this contract and we could take our time selecting when to go. Obviously he misrepresented DRI (when in fact he was telling us bad information that he & many other salespeople had been trained to tell all of us vulnerable, innocent families who just want to take a nice trip once a year. Meanwhile DRI has our $3,000+ we paid for this sampler package which expires in a few months & because of our work schedules will not be able to take advantage of. How can anyone of you from DRI think this is Okay????
